Chapter 1383: Chapter 984: Interception (Part 2)

Enhance sight to see, it seems to be a meteorite... and the impact point is quite precise, it appears to be this place.

Tons of prediction calculation information were displayed in the Illusory Eye, showing that the meteorite’s impact point is roughly 30 kilometers away in the ocean.

"I was diving, then went a bit higher and saw it. Is this world about to end?" Tanshia Firlo curiously looked at the meteorite in the sky; she hadn’t seen a scene of a meteorite destroying a planet before.

"It won’t." Zheng Yichen reached down and grabbed a handful of sand, as Lilith returned from not far away.

She hadn’t collected all the combat data for her new body yet, but the emerging meteorite prompted her to prepare for something else.

"BOSS, I can attempt to intercept that meteorite." Lilith volunteered, eager to engage in what was coming next.

Having fully adapted to this body, though she wouldn’t use it every day, she would like to take this opportunity to thoroughly test the body’s limits.

Testing its limits once is enough; she wouldn’t let the body’s combat abilities atrophy just because it remained idle for too long. When needed, the entire Virtual World could provide her with sufficient combat power bonuses.

She could be the God of Martial Arts, the Law God, or a summoner.

As long as the powers this body possesses can be manifested, they can be condensed to their peak and utilized through the records in the Virtual World.

"If the meteorite isn’t intercepted, 22% of the planet’s area will suffer dire consequences."

This data is very precise, with less than a 1% margin of error, determined after she communicated with the environment using the Power of Nature and Myriad Phenomena inherent in her new body and then conducted practical simulation calculations.

The environment of this world is mainly energy-based, with five levels, and such an environmental setting will provide strong self-protection for the planet.

Any attack beyond a certain limit will be nullified by the planet itself, reducing the impacts of those attacks by ninety percent.

After impact, the destructive power of this meteorite will likewise be nullified by the planet itself, but a massive meteorite over 20 kilometers in size will still inflict severe damage on the planet.

The ecology will be half destroyed, killing countless native life forms.

"Can it be stopped?"

"Yes, even with the possibility of other unexpected issues, with BOSS as a backup, I can boldly attempt it."

"Then intercept it."

In the face of such a thing, Zheng Yichen couldn’t just look away; after all, it’s just a meteorite. Half a year ago, he might have been helpless, but now? It’s merely a meteorite.

Even without manifesting a Phenomenon, he could destroy the meteorite with his own strength.

As for the fragments, it all depends on how much force he applies.

The meteorite’s speed is fast, and by the time a person can visually see it, it’s already very close to the planet.

This meteorite is larger, and though it looks far away when seen, it won’t take long to actually crash down. Tanshia Firlo gave a light yawn: "So slow."

"...No, this speed is already unusually fast." Zheng Yichen flicked the small white dragon’s head to keep her attentive, so she wouldn’t regret missing the spectacle later.

The Illusory Eye had done numerous calculations beforehand, and Lilith even sent out some drones and small satellites to investigate, further confirming the anomaly of that thing.

The meteorite’s actual diameter is 22 kilometers. If it were to impact a low-environment planet, the consequences would be far more than just impacting one-fifth of it.

As the meteorite approached, Zheng Yichen noticed some abnormal sections on it: its surface carried some sort of Crystals, which didn’t melt despite the intense frictional heat.

A dazzling light flickered in the sky. Zheng Yichen blinked, his eyes glossed over with a layer of black, dimming the strong light, yet the subsequent heavy pressure still felt suffocating.

The sea creatures stirred, some fish with special powers thrashing out of the water.

"...BOSS, this meteorite possesses some special power, I have no guarantee of fully intercepting it." After capturing the meteorite’s data at ’close range,’ Lilith straightforwardly declared.

But her actions didn’t stop, and the surrounding environment underwent a great change, with ripples from the Power of Nature and Myriad Phenomena rapidly spreading. The ocean was temporarily reshaped into a new form.

The seawater surged like magma squeezed out by the planet, simulating a volcanic eruption, shooting straight up to the sky; without that meteorite’s blockage, this massive water column could have reached beyond the planet.

Once realizing the meteorite’s abnormality, Lilith opted not to destroy it.

The Crystals on the meteorite contained special power, and forcibly destroying them would result in an even larger-scale explosion, causing broader damage.

They all would get embroiled when that happens.

The destruction plan turned into an interception; the ascending water collided with the meteorite, the resultant impact spreading to form a giant ring in the sky.

Zheng Yichen’s comment was that the rainbow was pretty, and the meteorite’s quality was quite high.

His Illusory Eye showed plenty of information, proving the meteorite’s descent speed truly slowed due to the high-pressure water column’s impact.

The price of slowing it was the sea covering the beach retreated like a tide.

"No good."

In the numerous data the Illusory Eye displayed, Zheng Yichen glossed over parts directly, but the main ones he could comprehend: the water column’s impact intensity was insufficient.

Although the meteorite’s speed had indeed decreased, upon final impact, it would still cause massive shockwaves.

The range of ecological destruction on the planet was reduced from 22% to 13%, nearly halved; Lilith’s interception was very effective.

Since the focus was intercepting, with no way to destroy this slightly unusual meteorite, blowing it up would make the fragments easier to handle.

Zheng Yichen didn’t intervene; since Lilith had taken it upon herself, he chose to trust her.

With the circular shockwave being disrupted by the appearance of strong winds, the angle of the water column also changed, turning from a direct intercept to a guiding redirection.

The convergence of wind and water in nature generated a stronger interception force, and the Illusory Eye showed the destruction range beginning to decrease once more.

Eventually reaching 1%, the descent halted, followed by a significant shift in the meteorite’s impact point.

The new location wasn’t the ocean but the land, with the area containing many mountains. The meteorite pierced through the water flow and crashed into that mountainous region, with most of the impact absorbed by the terrain.

A strong earthquake was instantly transmitted, with the leftover shockwave being blocked by the small white dragon holding the Holy Relic of Life.

The shockwave-induced strong wind dissipated, another bout of chaotic airflow followed and stabilized only for the once vacation-worthy beach to end up fragmented.

"Well done." Zheng Yichen walked up to Lilith, patting her on the shoulder.

"Had I used artificial Celestial Being mode, I could have brought the losses down to zero." Lilith remarked, looking at the spot where the meteorite had landed.

She could have done that, but this time was for testing the new body, giving everything for the body to bear; overall, the result wasn’t bad, right?

After all, this body just formed and hadn’t fully matured; not only that, she rarely experienced the feeling of fatigue from this body.

The power embodied in this body could work in conjunction with her own mechanical powers, essentially providing an additional reserve energy source.

In this interception, the power within this body was insufficient, so she channeled considerable energy from her main body.

"Testing, right, this is good enough, come, let’s go check out that meteorite." Zheng Yichen laughed, expressing interest in the Crystals attached to the meteorite.

The group arrived at the devastated mountainous region; in the immense meteor crater, the meteorite occupied the majority of the crater.

With the fall impact relieved, this meteorite didn’t carve out a crater hundreds of kilometers wide.

The mountains manifested by the Power of All Phenomena absorbed most of the impact, reducing the meteorite’s damage zone to a minimum.

Inside the crater, and scattered on the nearby ground, were shattered Crystals, along with an environment saturated with intense radiation enough to kill a person instantly, the air warping as a result.

Zheng Yichen picked up a piece of the shattered Crystal from the ground, carefully examining it: "Seems like something valuable."

"So hot!" Tanshia Firlo also picked up a piece of Crystal, exclaiming on the spot, before covering her hand with scales to ignore the Crystal’s effects.

The Illusory Eye linked to Lilith analyzed and compared this material, promptly determining it to be a new resource, not documented within the core of the Virtual World.

"Alright, take this stuff away!"
