The long marble hall stretched endlessly ahead, its vaulted ceiling painted with constellations that shimmered faintly.

Both of them continued walking through the long hall.

Sylmeria was walking in front of him while Zhao Tian was walking beside her, looking around at the grand portraits of the previous rulers of the Elven Star.

Glancing at him, Sylmeria muttered "Dear Honoured One, do you know the greatest misconception about the first Honoured One?"

Hm? Zhao Tian turned his head slightly and replied "That many people think that the first Honoured One is a man?"

Upon hearing this, she let out a chuckle "That too... but the biggest lie is that the First Honoured One ascended the heavens and became a God... it was a lie."

Huh? Zhao Tian stopped on his steps and looked at Sylmeria in disbelief "...What?"

Looking at his face, Sylmeria smiled faintly "It is true that she shattered the heavens and defeated the Heavenly One, broke the chains of the Heavenly law, and ascended beyond the mortal realms."

"...But she didn't become a God."

Her words sent a strange thrill to him, and she gestured "This way, Honoured One."

With a nod, they continued the walk, and he asked "What happened to her after that?"

Shaking her head, she replied "We don't know what she saw beyond the Heavens..."

Reaching the end of the corridor, she placed her palm against a great circular door inlaid with runes that shimmered faintly with violet light.

A deep resonance filled the air as the barrier recognized her presence.

With a low hum, the door parted open and a rush of cold, pure energy spilled forth.

Zhao Tian stepped forward, and the sight inside the room made his eyes tremble in disbelief.

In the center of the room, there is a crystal platform bathed in blue-white light.

Above it, a transparent glass was suspended midair, and inside it, a woman lay perfectly still. 𝐟𝕣𝗲𝕖𝕨𝗲𝐛𝗻𝗼𝐯𝗲𝚕.𝗰𝚘𝐦

Her long white hair spilled across the crystalline surface, and she looked like she was sleeping after an eternity of struggle.

Sylmeria lowered her gaze and stepped closer to the casket, her hand hovering above it without touching "She killed herself..."

Zhao Tian's pupils quivered, "Killed herself…?"

Nodding her head, Sylmeria replied "Mhm, no one knows what she saw beyond the heavens or what actually happened."

"But she decided to kill herself, so the next Honoured One can be born."

"As you already know, two Honoured Ones can't exist at the same time. One has to die for the next Honoured One to be born..."

"So that's why... she took her own life."

Zhao Tian stared at the woman in the casket and she looked so peaceful and familiar.

For a fleeting moment, her features overlapped with his own reflection in the glass "…She has my face."

Sylmeria glanced at him and smiled faintly "Now that you say it.. I can see it, if you had a sister, that would be like her."

She lowered her head and muttered "I will leave you alone for a while to gather your thoughts, Honoured One."

Zhao Tian stood still for a long time after Sylmeria's footsteps faded down the corridor.

The faint hum of energy in the chamber was the only sound that remained.

The resemblance between them was uncanny. It was like looking into another version of himself.

Zhao Tian stepped closer to the casket and his gaze softened as he studied the woman's calm expression.

"What did you see," he whispered, "beyond the heavens?"

He didn't expect an answer. Yet his hand moved almost on its own as he reached out and touched the cool surface of the crystal.

The moment his skin met the glass, the crystal beneath his palm pulsed faintly, and a burst of white light spiraled out.

Zhao Tian instinctively stepped back, shielding his eyes 'What happened?'

Threads of light seeped from the woman's body, curling upward like silver mist.

The mist condensed, and a transparent figure of the woman appeared.

The same long white hair drifted weightlessly, and she opened her eyes, revealing her blue eyes just like him.

Zhao Tian blinked in surprise "Her… soul?"

The woman smiled faintly, and her voice was gentle as she spoke "Yes,"

"What thou seest before thee is my lingering soul... what remains of the First Honoured One."

Zhao Tian looked at her in amazement "You're… conscious? After all this time?"

The woman tilted her head slightly, looking at him with quiet curiosity "Time does not touch what has been severed from it."

She walked closer and raised her hand as if to touch his cheek but her fingers just ghosted past his cheek "You look like me... Little brother."

Eh? He frowned slightly as he felt weird being called by her like that "Little brother? Well... we both are Honoured Ones and from the same Maverick lineage, so you are calling me Little Brother because of that?"

Keeping her smile, she shook her head "No... we both have the same mother. You... haven't met our Mother yet?"

Hm? Zhao Tian's gaze condensed as he remembered his real mom, who was inside his mind "Raphaela Celeste Ravenscroft?"

Hearing the name, the woman nodded her head "Yeah... her. She must be residing inside you with other Ecloids."

Huh? Ecloids? At this time, Zhao Tian remembered the other different hair coloured woman inside his sea of consciousness with his mother. "Yeah... I have seen them..."

With a soft giggle, she nodded as a wave of nostalgia washed over her "Yes. They are the fragments of the original Ecloid essence. Each carries a shard of Mother's soul, bound to your core."

"They previously resided inside me while I was the Honoured One."

Looking at him, her expression brightened "You are the continuation of what I couldn't complete."

Zhao Tian lowered his gaze slightly, feeling a strange warmth bloom in his chest "Then tell me," he said softly, lifting his eyes again, "what was it that Mother wanted to complete? What did you see beyond the Heavens, and why… entrust all of that to me?"

The woman's eyes turned distant and a soft sigh escaped her lips "About that..."
