HxH : Pokemon Master-Chapter 393: This Is the Might of a Hunter!
Before he could step forward to knock, a sudden creak broke the silence.
The aged wooden door swung open, revealing a withered, sinister face.
Simultaneously, chilling gusts of wind blew out from inside, as if the cabin were air-conditioned to sub-zero temperatures.
Bent over her cane, Agatha fixed Netero with a pair of sharp eyes.
"What do you want?" Her tone was unwelcoming from the start, thick with aloofness.
Netero remained unperturbed, casually digging a pinky into his ear before revealing an intrigued smile.
"Hohoho, I’m curious. How did you detect me in advance?"
Given his skill and technique, he should have concealed his presence perfectly. At the very least, an old woman like her shouldn’t have noticed.
Even Linne wouldn’t have been able to, as his current strength far surpassed what it once was.
"Heh... How could the scent on you escape my precious?" Agatha sneered, as if dismissing the foolish question.
Immediately, a large Arbok slithered out from beside her.
Flicking its tongue, the serpent fixed its gaze intently on Netero. Its eyes seemed to radiate intense greed.
Arbok, One of Agatha’s most iconic Pokémon.
Though she was the Ghost Master, exceptionally skilled in raising Ghost-type Pokémon, she possessed a unique craft—the Death Makeup Technique.
By altering the patterns on Arbok’s abdomen, she could achieve various effects, elevating Arbok to heights it normally couldn’t reach.
As one of the veteran Elite Four members, Agatha was a trainer of genuine capability. Naturally, she was on Akira’s recruitment list.
The Pokémon League was an excellent organization, at least in Akira’s opinion, because it filtered out a vast pool of talent to serve as Gym Leaders, regional Elite Four members, and even Champions.
This meant he didn’t need to painstakingly search for talent—he could simply focus his attention on them.
Plucking the ripest fruit was always... something comfortable and easy.
Netero’s smile widened further. "Hohoho, I understand now. Pokémon? Truly marvelous creatures."
He grew even more interested in Pokémon; perhaps he should try raising a few himself.
Agatha frowned, sensing something odd about Netero. Not just his words, but his overall presence felt strange.
’This isn’t a normal person,’ Agatha thought silently to herself.
"To answer your earlier question, I came here to invite you to join us."
Agatha narrowed her eyes. "Join you? Not just any random organization is worth my joining. Being an Elite Four member is already bothersome enough. You should leave."
Netero said calmly, "I’m afraid that won’t be possible. I’m here on a mission that must succeed. You’ll need to give a different answer."
Agatha’s frown deepened, anger rising in her heart as her expression darkened instantly.
Perhaps she hadn’t been appearing in public enough lately, making people think she had grown old, forgetting her fearsome reputation from her younger days.
Did they really think she was easy to bully? She was no pushover. In fact, anyone who spent all their time with Ghost-type Pokémon was no kind soul.
Thud.
Agatha struck the ground heavily with her cane. Arbok immediately surged forward, accompanied by a dark wind, rising tall before Netero.
Its face was ferocious, and its abdomen displayed an extremely eerie pattern that struck fear into those who saw it.
Netero simply watched with a smile.
This was more like it.
Since she wasn’t convinced, he would let her see for herself.
"Hohoho... Being looked down upon, aren’t we? Don’t underestimate Hunters~"
Netero raised both hands. In the eyes of Arbok and Agatha, it seemed like a very slow movement. Yet it was completed in an instant.
A strange discrepancy between fast and slow had occurred.
Pfft.
With a nearly imperceptible sound of impact, Netero’s aged yet powerful palms came completely together. Instantly, a circular golden light erupted from Netero as the center, shining with brilliant radiance!
Like a golden moon continuously expanding, it slowly rose behind Netero.
Within moments, it grew from the diameter of a person to roughly the size of a small hill, suddenly enveloped by countless warm golden rays.
The next moment, what appeared to be a statue of Guanyin, gleaming with dazzling golden light from every angle, came into Agatha’s view.
The golden Guanyin statue exuded immense majesty, towering to an extraordinary height with thousands of arms adorning its body.
Each arm held a distinct posture, capable of executing movements without a single repetition. Bathed in the golden radiance, Netero’s figure was tinged with a golden hue, reminiscent of the lingering glow before sunset.
Yet it shone even more brilliantly than such light.
Simultaneously, his entire aura underwent an instantaneous transformation.
It seemed as though he had transcended the mundane, no longer bound to this turbid and chaotic world.
This was the [Hundred-Type Guanyin]!
Golden light erupted in full force.
An intense radiance enveloped the entire mountaintop, as if a second sun had appeared in the world—dazzling and blinding.
After advancing to SS- rank, Netero’s use of the Hundred-Type Guanyin had undergone a tremendous change.
First, the size of the Hundred-Type Guanyin had grown significantly, multiplying several times over.
It now rivaled a mountain peak, resembling a colossal blazing sun, exceptionally magnificent.
Agatha’s eyes widened, her pupils trembling uncontrollably. Shock surfaced on her aged face, and her hands instinctively tightened around her cane.
She stared fixedly at Netero floating in the air and the enormous golden thousand-armed Guanyin statue.
How could this be? Why had such a massive golden statue suddenly appeared?! Was it teleported here using psychic powers?!
Unfamiliar with Aura Ability, Agatha felt a surge of panic, as she couldn’t immediately explain the scene before her.
She clearly sensed that the emergence of the golden colossus wasn’t due to any external force. Instead, it was an embodiment of energy surging from within that person’s body.
There were individuals with special abilities in the world. This much she knew.
Psychics, Aura Guardians, Dragon Tamers... They were all capable of wielding unique powers. But she had never heard of anyone achieving something like this!
This terrifying presence far surpassed that of most Pokémon.
Was this something a human could accomplish?
He just mentioned "hunter"? What was that? The kind of hunter who ventures into forests to hunt game? But for such a being, what creature could possibly be worthy of his hunt?
Once again, the abilities of hunters had astounded the native inhabitants of the Pokémon world. Admittedly, the power ceiling of the Pokémon world far exceeded that of the hunter world.
Yet it had to be acknowledged that the hunter world had its own formidable aspects.
[Nen] [On] And the endless array of miraculous [Hopes] and bizarre [Calamities].
All were incredibly powerful and uniquely distinctive.
Moreover, the prowess of the Pokémon world was largely embodied in Legendary Pokémon, with only that group being exceptionally formidable.
The strength of ordinary Pokémon wasn’t so extraordinary.
If Legendary and Mythical Pokémon didn’t intervene, Akira could select a few [Calamities] from the Dark Continent to unleash, enough to cause massive destruction.
Both worlds had their own strengths.
[Nen] can grant individuals immense personal strength.
[Pokémon] can serve as external power.
Therefore, Akira, who combines the powers of both worlds, is bound to advance unhindered.
Arbok felt extremely uncomfortable. It was the first time it had encountered such an enemy, such a bizarre opponent!
So it continuously hissed, flicking its tongue while staring intently at Netero. Every muscle in its body tensed, ready to strike at any moment.
Netero suddenly opened his eyes, a sharp gleam flashing within them. Let him test just how strong his current power was!
As he opened his eyes, Netero moved his right hand away from its prayer position. He assumed a posture resembling that of a Buddha.
One foot drawn inward, the other resting on the knee of the drawn-in foot, hands clasped together, eyes closed.
As golden light radiated brilliantly, Agatha seemed to see Netero standing on a vibrant lotus flower. But in the blink of an eye, it vanished.
Suddenly, Netero sharply opened his eyes—wide, round eyes filled with intense fighting spirit. Like a wrathful Vajra, his entire being exuded an oppressive aura.
Intending to suppress the small snake before him.
Time seemed to freeze in that instant. Arbok’s dull pupils were suddenly illuminated by the overwhelming golden light.
Before its eyes, a massive Thousand-Handed Guanyin statue appeared, swinging countless arms toward it.
The Thousand-Handed Guanyin, as tall as a Gundam, furiously struck at Arbok. In an instant, countless palm shadows emerged one after another.
Arbok, caught in the center, was dazzled and unable to see them all.
"Boom! Boom! Boom..."
Innumerable rocks shattered and were then pulverized into fine dust, scattering in all directions. Thick smoke, carrying tiny fragments of stone, formed a rock storm that completely enveloped the entire area.
Each strike from the Thousand-Handed Guanyin possessed force comparable to a missile.
Yet, Netero unleashed these attacks like a machine gun.
Under such rapid and violent assault, countless hard rocks turned to dust, carried away by the palm winds into the distance.
Arbok, at the epicenter of the strikes, naturally suffered the most damage. Far greater than the impact on the surrounding dust.
