Hunter of Mysterious Creature-Chapter 610 - 155: Robots

Two hard-landing air-drop pods were launched from the helicopter's cargo hold, instantly piercing through the clouds and rain.

In the moment just before touching the ground, the bottom of the air-drop pods suddenly sprayed out a large amount of foam gel, creating a three-meter-deep cushioning pool. Accompanied by two muffled impact sounds, the two cylindrical air-drop pods landed steadily on the open ground less than twenty meters away from Bunker One.

The foam gel quickly degraded, and the doors of the two air-drop pods immediately opened downward, allowing sixteen robots already in standby mode to stream out.

The sixteen robots carried this time were all products of Yushu Military Technology: a total of eight "Go7" quadruped mechanical dogs, four "H4" humanoid intelligent robots, and four "SP03" all-terrain mechanical spiders.

Liu Li couldn't possibly control so many robots simultaneously, so he chose one "H4" as the main control perspective, leaving the other fifteen robots entirely to AI control.

The door of Bunker One was tightly shut, showing no signs of having been attacked. Liu Li controlled the H4 humanoid robot to walk up to the door, raised its right arm, and pointed its index finger at the password lock installed on the door.

The protective cover at the tip of the robot's index finger flipped upward, revealing a golden interface that was directly inserted into the slot next to the keypad of the password lock.

"Taking over Bunker One's security system... Permission transfer failed..."

"Attempting second transfer... Permission transfer failed..."

"Querying cause of failure..."

"Cause ascertained: Bunker One's security system has been formatted, and all defense and monitoring facilities within the bunker have ceased operation. To restart the bunker's defense and monitoring facilities, the main control computer needs to be loaded with a new security system."

Liu Li's hands paused over the keyboard for a moment before quietly saying, "Indeed, the strongest fortresses are always breached from the inside."

"What do you mean?" the Crystal Princess immediately asked.

"The very moment Bunker One lost contact, someone formatted its security system, and the only ones capable of that would be the personnel stationed inside the bunker... That person only needed to delete a few segments of the underlying code to turn the entire bunker into a completely undefended state..." Liu Li explained.

"Is it definitely the work of internal personnel?" the Crystal Princess asked doubtfully, "But you sent a robot down without even entering the bunker, and it managed to attempt taking over the bunker's security system. Doesn't this show that the security system could be breached externally?"

"That's not the same..." Liu Li's frustration showed, "The reason I could take over the bunker's security system is because I obtained the highest level of permission key from the military before departure... This key is one-time use and becomes invalid after use, so it can't be stolen. Do you understand what I'm saying?"

"Oh..." The Crystal Princess nodded, half understanding, "Not really." 𝙛𝒓𝒆𝙚𝒘𝒆𝓫𝙣𝓸𝙫𝓮𝒍.𝒄𝒐𝓶

"Then you just need to know that besides me and the high-ranking generals of the military, no one can hack into the bunker's security system from the outside..." Liu Li felt his patience nearing its limit. As a high-intelligence Hunter, he suffered from severe impatience with ignorance. If someone didn't understand in one explanation, he rarely offered another and certainly wouldn't show any kindness... But given that the Crystal Princess's fists were several times larger than his head, Liu Li rationally chose to concede.

"Don't be so absolute," Sun Hang suddenly interrupted, "If it's the work of an anomaly, anything is possible, isn't it?"

"Theoretically, yes, but I lean towards the bunker personnel being controlled by the anomaly and actively shutting down the security system... Otherwise, the operations command wouldn't have received not even a single distress signal." Liu Li said.

With the security system formatted, the bunker's heavy alloy door naturally became a mere façade. After Liu Li entered the initial password of six zeros on the keyboard, the heavy sound of moving mechanical components was transmitted through the robot's audio equipment into his headphones.

The bunker door slowly opened, and the white light columns on both sides of the passage gradually lit up.

Liu Li steadied his mind and inputted the command for the robot to continue forward.

"No survivors detected, no human remains found."

"Radiation intensity within safe limits, oxygen levels normal, no toxic substances or other anomalies detected in the air."

"Bunker power supply system normal, oxygen and temperature control systems normal."

"No signs of intrusion detected..."

"Signal loss detected for Go7 Mechanical Dog Eight!" The line of red text that suddenly appeared at the top of the screen caused Liu Li to shudder slightly, while concurrently, one of the fifteen divided display screens on a nearby laptop turned to static.

"Did any of you know what Go7 Mechanical Dog Eight captured just before it lost signal?" Liu Li turned to ask Sun Hang and the Crystal Princess, but both shook their heads.

Liu Li had been focused on analyzing the data returned by the robots' various sensors and hadn't paid constant attention to the other monitoring screens. After all, if any other robot discovered something unusual, the AI would immediately alert, rather than silently showing a signal loss as it did now.
