Hubby's Deep Love Will Never Change-Chapter 21 The Call of ’Husband’ Echoed in His Heart_1
Eleven lay on the sofa, rereading the news about Gu Liancheng and the online comments beneath it.
Everyone was guessing that Huang Shanshan, being hit with scandals twice in a row, was likely to seize the upper hand.
The public couldn’t help but feel sympathy for Mrs. Gu who had never appeared before.
"Sympathy? Ha!" Eleven was getting so irritated that she threw her phone onto the sofa, "Who needs your sympathy?"
They spoke as if they understood their lives thoroughly.
After all, everyone is leading their own lives. Who can fully understand the life of others?
She didn’t need anyone’s sympathy because she didn’t know how good her own life was.
Just then, her phone rang again. It was a strange number. Without thinking, Eleven answered it. 𝑓𝑟ℯ𝘦𝓌𝘦𝘣𝑛𝑜𝓋𝑒𝓁.𝑐ℴ𝓂
"Hello?"
"Is this... Fang Eleven?" a male voice asked.
"Yes, it is. Who are you?"
"I heard... it’s a hundred per night, right?"
"..."
Originally lying on the sofa, Eleven sat up after hearing these words. She found it amusing and sneered a few times with a sense of helplessness.
Resting her head in her left hand, she took a deep breath and ran her fingers through her hair, tossing it backward.
"Hello...? Are you still there?" the man’s voice trembled, seemingly nervous.
"Yes, I’m here." Eleven’s voice sounded incredibly calm, "A hundred dollars? Only a hundred?"
"Two hundred then?"
"Two hundred? Hasn’t anyone told you, I’m three hundred?"
"Three hundred? I don’t have three hundred today, so maybe..."
With a "bang", that was the last sound he heard.
The phone was thrown out by Eleven and smashed heavily on the floor, shattering into pieces.
The entire villa fell silent, not a single sound could be heard.
Eleven sat on the sofa, her stomach aching faintly. She ran her hands through her messy hair, lifted her head to lean against the sofa, forcing back the tears.
She felt a sense of suffocation and injustice welling up within her.
Why was she being bullied?
Yet, in the spacious villa, no one could hear her cry.
The thought only deepened her sorrow.
...
The limited edition black Bentley stopped outside the front door.
Gu Liancheng got out of the car, glanced inside, and found the lights in the hall still on.
He checked his watch; it was midnight.
Was she still awake at this hour?
When Gu Liancheng entered the house, the sight made him pause.
He first noticed a table full of untouched dishes, and a bowl of rice from which only a few bites were eaten, sitting quietly there.
There were too much food, which clearly wasn’t for one person. Was she waiting for him to eat together?
His eyes drifted towards the sofa, where Eleven, apparently cold, was curled up with no blanket over her.
Suddenly, Gu Liancheng squinted his eyes.
The cell phone next to the sofa was all smashed up, and there seemed to be tear stains on Fang Eleven’s face.
He moved closer, squatted down in front of her, noticing her eyelashes were still wet. There was no question; she had been crying.
In that moment, Gu Liancheng’s heart was filled with complexities, not sure what he was feeling.
What’s going on?
Gu Liancheng frowned deeply.
He didn’t wake her, instead, he slid his long arm around her back and under her knees.
Instead of addressing this now, he’d better put her to bed first, and discuss matters tomorrow.
However, Eleven woke up from his movement. Opening her eyes to see Gu Liancheng, before she could comprehend what was happening, she habitually muttered, "Husband..."
This calling of "husband" was so soft and tender, it stirred emotions in his heart.
"Next time, remember to sleep in the room." He effortlessly lifted Eleven up.
She was very light, almost weightless to him.
At this thought, Gu Liancheng frowned again.
How was it that this little woman he had been keeping for four years was still skinny as a stick?
