“At least I can protect myself when we encounter the Unmentionables.”

No matter how strong the enemy was or how many there were, Gao Ming could affect them with paranoia and everyone, including himself, would have a horrible ending.

“An equal madness and death. No wonder Dream sealed this power in the main altar. This is a blade wielded by the weak towards the strong.” No. 2 noticed Gao Ming’s condition and shook his head. Gao Ming only touched the altar and almost died. Only a crazy person would treat this crazy power as a treasure.

“Immortal Pharma used Dream’s normal altar as a basis to build Dream Break Town. If I use Dream’s main altar as its core to make a nightmare, it will be more stable. Even Unmentionables won’t be able to escape it easily. Then, I’ll use paranoia to make them all go insane.” Gao Ming was excited by thinking about it.

“Before the Unmentionables lose their minds, your mind will collapse. You’ll forget your identity, your power and the fact that you’re in a dream.” No. 2 warned Gao Ming. “Paranoia is not a power. It is an illness. Do not become overly reliant on it.”

While No. 2 tried to persuade Gao Ming, the God of Flesh and Blood, who had taken over the altar, screamed loudly. The divine pattern on his skin became more complicated. The wounds that were left on his body due to decay tore open. Eight new arms reached out of his body. Each arm was carved with the pattern of a weapon.

They were not standard weapons like knives or spears. Perhaps influenced by Dream, the weapons were related to mental pollution and mutated violence. Each weapon could evoke the human being’s primal fear.

“Weapons cultivated in the divine pattern? What sick things are these?” Gao Ming touched the God of Flesh and Blood’s arms. Some of the weapons included insect eggs that could split indefinitely, a ruler that could reconstruct memory, a moving meatball that could desecrate faith and an umbilical cord that could twist the dream and reality.

Gao Ming’s head was spinning when he was halfway through. His eyes were murky as if tainted. Normally, these weapons would be hidden in the divine pattern. They would appear when the God of Flesh and Blood wanted to use them. After obtaining the eight strange weapons, the connection between the God of Flesh and Blood and the Blood City Tattoo deepened.

“You’ve become stronger.” Gao Ming felt like the God of Flesh and Blood had surpassed the headmistress, Yan Xizhi. His growth speed was incredible. “The Blood City was extinguished. Han Hai’s Dream Ghosts are weaker than Unmentionables. It’s hard for them to increase their power. They are constrained. However, the God of Flesh and Blood doesn’t appear to be affected. He can grow endlessly!”

No. 2 witnessed everything. He felt this was not hard to explain. “Han Hai’s Dream Ghosts cannot break through the limits of Blood City, but you avoided the rules of Blood City and combined them with Dream’s altar. When you locate the other altars in Immortal Pharma’s custody, he will become stronger until you can fully replace Dream or Dream is reborn in you.”

Everyone had the power of choice. No. 2 didn’t stop Gao Ming. He buried the worry in his heart and would only occasionally remind Gao Ming.

“Immortal Pharma will soon receive the news that the passage is lost. I worry that they might send other adversaries. You better be prepared.”

“You’re right.” Gao Ming didn’t interact with the survivors of Dream Break Town and left through the altar.

The stinging smell of disinfectant entered his nose. The flood cradled Gao Ming. The worry on Zhang Ding’s face disappeared. “I knew you wouldn’t die so easily.”

When he returned to the ship lab, the massive pressure that surrounded the ship had disappeared. Gao Ming replaced the main altar. However, the figurine inside had been exchanged with the God of Flesh and Blood.

“Those who entered Han Hai couldn’t return because Dream’s main altar was dominated by three Unmentionable figurines. They blocked the path back. Now that the God of Flesh and Blood becomes the owner of the altar, God has become the key to the path, and I am the owner of this channel.”

With No. 2’s help, Gao Ming activated all the dreaming devices. Many signal lights were switched on. This sealed nutrient tank appeared to fill with stars. The main path leading to Han Hai was reactivated. Gao Ming put on all the support devices and held the figurine of the God of Flesh and Blood.

“Gao Ming, do you really not need anyone to look over your body?” No. 2 still hadn’t given up. “Immortal Pharma might send other people over. Since you’re leaving your physical body in the real world, what if…”

“You don’t need to worry about that. I’ll look over his body.” Zhang Ding appeared with human skin. “Unless I perish, no one can injure him.”

Boss Zhang was one of the few reliable big ghosts, and Gao Ming trusted him. Gao Ming opened Dream’s main altar. All the devices were triggered.

There was a slight vertigo. Gao Ming didn’t feel his consciousness fading as he did when he participated in the brain realm game. He stared at the altar calmly. If the real world were the mother of all the dreams, the passages that reached out of the main altar were like umbilical cords that couldn’t be snipped. Gao Ming saw them twist and turn. With the God of Flesh and Blood’s control, a relatively stable path was formed.

Gao Ming’s soul departed from his body. He stepped down the path. He couldn’t turn his head. He couldn’t witness anything from the real world. He had to keep sinking towards the coordinates in the dream.

The God of Flesh and Blood followed him. Endless ghosts wailed in the torture room. Gao Ming stared at the end of the path. There appeared to be a giant grave surrounded by layers of tragedy and blood in the sea of consciousness. That was Han Hai, the location where Dream’s other altar was hidden.

“Dream only has five altars left. This is the third one.”

At the end of the tunnel, Gao Ming and the God of Flesh and Blood opened the door before them…

The heavy clouds shrouded the city. The humid air carried the scent of blood. The rain fell on his body and wetted his clothes and hair. Gao Ming took a deep breath. The sense of familiarity was surreal.

“I’m back.”

Gao Ming looked around. The things that welcomed him were fresh corpses and flying bugs.

The time flow in Han Hai differed from real life. This strange city looked normal on the surface, but it was actually dead.

“I wonder how many days it has been since I left. How many days has the black mist been here?” 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞

The corpses on the ground wore complete protective gear. A tragedy had just struck the building Gao Ming was in.
