Hogwarts: I Am an Exemplary Wizard-Chapter 517 - 515: These 3 Challenges Were Pretty Easy
After discovering the situation with the Swedish Short-Snout Dragon, Kael immediately abandoned his plan to hide temporarily. He swiftly turned his broom, circled in the air, and came above the Fire Dragon.
A burst of Dragon Flame spewed forth, but Kael dodged it in time.
"Hey, calm down." He flew beside the Fire Dragon’s head, making sure it could see him.
"We’ve met before, remember?
"Think carefully, I helped you heal your wounds back then, and you insisted we were meddling..."
The roar of the Swedish Short-Snout Dragon abruptly stopped, and the yellow vertical pupil facing Kael shifted slightly, seemingly scrutinizing him.
Consequently, the second burst of Dragon Flame in its mouth gradually extinguished, finally turning into two flames sprayed from its nostrils.
"Seems like you remember." Kael said as his tense body relaxed a bit. Fortunately, he didn’t mistake the dragon.
"How’s the recovery going... It’s rare to meet again. If you have any scratches or bumps, I can help you solve them."
Speaking, Kael maneuvered the Firebolt to the left front position of the Fire Dragon.
He slightly distanced himself, but not too far. From the audience’s perspective, it seemed like he was in a thrilling chase with the Fire Dragon.
Anyway, the exclamations from the stands were quite loud.
The Short-Snout Dragon snorted again, issuing a low wailing sound. Its speed slowed down, seemingly bored and wanting to return to the cliff.
"Don’t rush back yet!" Kael immediately said.
An orange-yellow pupil looked over.
"Don’t misunderstand," Kael explained, "I just have a small favor to ask."
The Short-Snout Dragon showed a hint of impatience, but did not intend to return. Instead, it continued to flap its wings, following Kael.
"Perhaps you haven’t noticed yet..." Kael continued, "Some of your Ashstones got something mixed in them. How about I help you pick them out?"
The Short-Snout Dragon looked over apprehensively, roaring at the same time.
A burst of flame scraped past the Firebolt’s tail... The stands erupted with the audience’s tense screams.
"Don’t worry, I don’t intend to take your treasure," Kael hurriedly explained, "Just a few stones, I can assure you, they’re definitely not Ashstones..."
...
One man and one dragon continued to talk and fly, even leaving the stadium, only to circle the castle before returning.
The surprised audience noticed the Fire Dragon seemed to trip over the castle’s spire.
"The distance is widening!"
In the stands, Fred shouted excitedly through the Panoramic Telescope, clearly seeing Kael speeding towards the cliff, "The Fire Dragon is at least fifty feet away from him. He has a chance to grab those stones!"
"No, it’s too risky!" Cedric said nervously, "Don’t forget there’s another dragon there, and it’s the dangerous Hungarian Horntail!"
"But Kael’s already over there!" George said, his eyes glued to the Panoramic Telescope.
He saw Kael unhesitatingly rush towards the cliff... Then, the Horntail stood up, spewing a burst of flame, which Kael agilely dodged.
"Nice!" George shouted involuntarily.
With the Firebolt’s speed increasing, the audience’s hearts began to race.
Finally, the Firebolt flew over the cliff... Kael grasped the broom handle with one hand, quickly reaching out with the other, seemingly picking something up from the ground.
Then he veered to the other side.
And within just a moment’s pause, the Fire Dragon was just a few feet away from Kael...
"Run quickly..." From the stands, Conna couldn’t resist standing up to remind Kael.
But before she could finish, a deafening shout drowned her out.
People were cheering, screaming, clapping.
Somehow, Kael had left the field and appeared on the other side of the stands, where the judges were.
In his hand, three red stones were gleaming.
"What a bold idea!" Bagman shouted, "He’s shown extraordinary courage... Ah, indeed, he’s succeeded... It’s incredible, our youngest champion passed all the stages fastest."
Kael looked up, just in time to see Dumbledore smiling at him. Beside him, Karkaroff and Maxime were also smiling, but their expressions were clearly strained.
After leaving the field, the surrounding noise suddenly grew louder, the clamor of the crowd incessantly pounding his eardrums.
"It was amazing!" Just as Kael got off the Firebolt, Professor McGonagall said loudly.
She jogged over to him, "Before the judges score, you need to see Madam Pomfrey, right there..."
Professor McGonagall pointed to the changing room on the other side of the passage. Kael noticed her hand was still trembling slightly.
"You did it, Kael." Hagrid said gruffly, "You handled two Fire Dragons alone, while the other two don’t even know what the third challenge is..."
"Thank you, Hagrid!" Kael said loudly, interrupting him.
Karkaroff and Maxime were right beside, their faces looking rather unpleasant.
"Professor, can I wait before seeing Madam Pomfrey?" Kael turned to Professor McGonagall, "I want to watch the rest of the game."
"I understand, but no..." Professor McGonagall insisted.
"Alright then."
Kael could only walk out of the field, seeing Madam Pomfrey standing at the entrance to the second changing room, looking anxious.
"Zouwu, Bludger, Fire Dragon!" She said disdainfully, pulling Kael into the changing room. Inside it was segmented into small cubicles, identical to the Hospital Wing.
Madam Pomfrey examined Kael’s back carefully, grumbling as she went, "What were they thinking, allowing so many dangerous things to appear at school simultaneously? You’re lucky, only your clothes got torn, you’re not hurt... Come on, drink this."
She took out a bottle of blue Magic Potion emitting smoke.
A Relaxing Potion, known for alleviating tense nerves and popular before exams.
However, Kael felt he didn’t need it. Though he didn’t know how Krum and Fleur felt, he found the three stages rather easy... He only used a Summoning Charm.
But Madam Pomfrey didn’t see it that way. She watched as Kael drank the potion entirely before briskly leaving the compartment.
Kael waited a while, ensuring Madam Pomfrey had gone far before standing up to check outside.
But before he could reach the door, a group of people rushed in.
"You’re the first to finish, the first one!" Conna said excitedly, "You’re amazing!"
"Right." Fred squeezed in from outside, "I’m sure your score’s going to be the highest."
"What’s the situation now?" Kael asked curiously.
"Not great." Cedric said, "Krum’s having a hard time with the Zouwu. He used a Charm to toughen his skin, barely passing the first stage.
"And Delacour, she’s stuck on the second stage’s platform, trying to eliminate all the Bludgers.
"I must say, your Summoning Charm was brilliant. Delacour didn’t think of that."
"Even if she did, it wouldn’t help."
Fred laughed, "She must first have a Firebolt..."
