His Witch Queen-Chapter 139: Too sweet!
Two nights have already passed in the blink of an eye and the journey has finally started.
Princess Alice and Prince Cyrus, along with their troops standing at the top of them, ought to look at the lower side of the village. It was countryside and the bay of the Ontex Empire. 𝘧𝓇𝑒𝑒𝑤ℯ𝑏𝓃𝘰𝑣ℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Altogether, the Ontex Empire was surrounded by greenery. On top of that, it was most well built. Even though it was inhabited by the vampires, the vampires of this Empire weren’t as strong as of the gazelle kingdom. Moreover, since it was night and they rose high in the sky, it was easy for them to view how the lights were lit.
The review was ecstatic to witness but on top of that, the question arose bigger than that.
Alice rotated her head to find Cyrus standing with others. She was currently on the horse, but there was a shift in her focus too, "Are we entering tonight or will we rest here only and then enter tomorrow?"
To her question, Cyrus didn’t answer. But he moved his gaze to look at his other soldier, named Drake, who gave them a suggestion, "Prince, I think it would be better for us to enter right now. Everyone is asleep and no one knows about us."
"I agree with him, prince Cyrus. I have heard from the locals, from where we passed, that there is a reward for you. King Almen is bloody thrusting searching for you and Princess’s presence. In broad daylight, if we enter, everyone will recognize us." Simon told them with a serious face.
But hearing this, Alice’s eyes widened, "Really? You mean to say, King Almen has asked..."
"You are right Princess, King Almen announced that whichever Kingdom will provide him information regarding you, he will give them a reward and strengthen the ties." Simon gave her clear clarification.
Alice found it hard to absorb, but she knew this was the ultimate truth lying on her face. Subconsciously, she hugged her head to find Cyrus still behaving normally. Neither was he shocked, or displeased.
Yet that didn’t stop Alice from asking, "Prince Cyrus... do you think, Ontex Empire’s king might also.."
"No!" came the straight reply.
Alice shot him a glance, with a frown curved on her forehead. Her brows twisted together to find it absolutely meaningless. "Why is it then? Ontex Empire is also a vampire empire and Gazelle empire being powerful one can go and tell-"
"Ontex Empire ain’t simple, my wife." Cyrus told her, which made her roll her eyes, "What do you mean by this?"
At the same spot, Cyrus took his sword out from his casket to rotate his eyes. There, he thrust his sword into the ground, to find that the soul behind them was still solid as ever. While others were annoyed and clueless, Cyrus’s face lighted up.
"The Ontex Empire has been ruled by two Kings. Both of them are twins." Cyrus transferred the information while keeping his head lower. "The two twins aren’t close. They loathe each other’s blood. However, the Ontex Empire is divided into two different palaces."
"While the left wing is ruled by the one King, another one is ruled by his twin brother. Yet one thing which is common in both of them is their ruthlessness and their hatred for King Almen..."
The information traveled into everyone’s ears. Some were surprised, some evaluated the situation in the best way to progress well and take this to their advantage.
"But Prince, why is that? The Ontex Empire hasn’t declared Gazelle Empire as their enemy either. Neither have they attacked us ever. So how can you say that they hate His highness?" this time, Simon asked with a significant curiosity.
Moving his face in Simon’s direction, Cyrus spoke, "I have attended the council’s meeting with the king. They never declared because who will like to challenge the most powerful Kingdom as the enemy."
"Yet they have always voted against king Almen’s Empire. They were never in our favor, ever in any eating. They loathe him because, in the twins’ eyes, he isn’t fitted to be the king. They believe him to be holding some magic powers which made him rule so for so long, and they think the new generation should take over."
"King Almen still resides on the old handbooks’ rules. This is something irksome for others and...that’s why, I believe, they can benefit us." Cyrus laid down what actually felt from these people.
Moreover, the twins might not give him clear instinct but can lend a helping hand when he plans to defeat king Almen. "But Prince, there are chances that the right will move this against us."
"We can’t trust them so easily," Drake told the prince and Alice also agreed to this. "We need to take this very calculative step. Trusting one wrong person damaging them, aware of her presence, might put all of us in danger, Cyrus."
The words made Cyrus’s lips turn into a straight line. Hearing all of their words made him understand that trust was the real issue he is currently facing right now.
But at the same moment, he immediately made the decision to this site right now. "Let’s rest somewhere in the town for now." As the words brought the agreement of everyone present there, they all decided to get the things worked out.
The troop started to move to the lower part of the mountain to finally stop in the Ontex Empire. Rather than locality in the middle of the entire town. Rather they were decided to get their tents ready in the area which was plainer.
"Prince, I think we should go to the forest area. At the start of the forest, there must be a place for us to get our tents ready. We can light the fire there with the help of wood." Another soldier told Cyrus can’t help but agree with this statement too.
Their direction changed and getting rough through the different pathways, they arrived at the edge of the forest. It was basically the opening of the forest and none even attempted to step inside the vast and the thick forest, at this hour.
Getting down from the horse, Alice evoked here and there before her eyes stopped to look at Cyrus. "You will set up the tent?" she asked to which Cyrus passed her a nod. "I will. Wait for us."
Due to the exhaustion of another human body taking over her mind, Alice decided to step back from the work and stand in the corner. She knew that these vampires aren’t even feeling the slightest uneasiness.
’They have a lot of strength..’ did the first thing she reads in their book. The soldiers aren’t feeling exhausted unlike her, whose legs were already in pain.
Her eyes saw how they set up the tents for her. With the help of the clothes, ropes, especially two tents were set up in all.
One was all designated for her since they were pretty much sure to keep their status alive through this. She, being the Princess, left no stone unturned for her to not feel any discomfort along with them. Moreover, other than basically doing the orders to rest if any of them wish to do so.
After the tent was set up, it was time for the wonders to light up the fire. Along with them, Cyrus had lent them a helping hand. When her tent was set up, he walked back there. "You can rest inside now."
"What about you all? Alice questioned. "We will see what we will do. If you want, you can simply rest inside the tent of the time and sleep. Your body won’t be able to take any more.’’ Cyrus honestly and concernedly told her.
Without even revoking, Alice passed him a nod. She walked to her tent to unzip it and step inside. From the inside, she finally closed the zip from inside to feel the solid source of the ground beneath her. ’Who would have thought that I would sleep so close to the other earth?’
Never, it never struck her mind. The faint smile of going back to her kingdom didn’t settle so easily.
She was going to meet her father to convey to him that his life was in danger..everything still implied. But currently, when Alice puts her head down and closes her eyes, her heart is currently sparkling.
’That kiss..’ she couldn’t help but forget it. And, bringing her hand near her lip, she rubbed it lightly and felt the same flavor again.
’God...I haven’t even talked with Cyrus about what happened between us..’ raising her head, Alice saw the reflection of Cyrus outside the tent. She knew he was guarding it with his own life so that she could rest well.
’He is being too sweet out of the blue...what’s wrong with him?’
