Three hours after leaving the hospital, Arissa, Jocelyn, and Adele walked into a new lovely four-room apartment.

Arissa nodded at her. Ever since they left the hospital, she has been too weak to say a word or participate in their conversation. Even the meal they stopped by at the restaurant to have was a struggle for her.

However, she ate the meal normally as she did not want them to get worried about her. All she wanted to do right now was to hit the bed and doze off.

"I love it," Adele said in agreement with Jocelyn and turned to her sister beside her. She placed a soft kiss on Arissa’s forehead and smiled at her.

Arissa managed to reply with a smile and said, "It’s already late and I’m feeling so sleepy," her voice also sounded tired, no matter how she tried to sound better.

Adele paused and scanned her sister’s countenance. Thoughtfully, she nodded, "I also think you should get some rest. You do not seem alright,"

Arissa wrapped her hand around Adele’s shoulder and hugged her, "Goodnight," she wished and walked towards Jocelyn. Placing a kiss on Jocelyn’s cheek, she wished her the same.

"I’ll heed in now," Arissa told them and walked towards the staircase. She held the railing for support but acted like she was just feeling the texture of it under her palm.

She felt so tired but refused to disturb the others with it. Getting into one of the rooms, she dropped her purse just beside her on the bed and lay down.

Her phone rang the instant she lay down and luckily, it was right beside her. Sluggishly picking up her bag, she picked up her phone and replied to the person at the other end without paying attention to the name.

"Hello?" her voice sounded down and out of concentration.

"You sound tired," Nicklaus’s voice came in.

When she heard his familiar voice, her heart skipped a beat and her lips curled up into a wonderful smile that helped brighten her tired expression a little.

"That would be because I’m lying down," she put in words and pushed how she truly felt aside.

Nicklaus’s brows ceased together, "Really? If that’s the case, can I request you sit for a moment? I don’t want to listen to you sounding so tired if you’re not," he told her and from his tune, one could tell he was having a hard time believing her.

Arissa rolled on the bed and lay on her left side. She felt so nauseous right now and the sweats leaving her body was more than usual. In one word, she felt sick but could not tell him that.

"Love?" Nicklaus called her from the other end when she remained quiet, "Don’t lie to me, tell me how you feel," he coaxed her.

Arissa took in a soft gulp and parted her lips.

"I honestly do not feel alright," she replied, "I feel so weak and tired. A hug might be all I need,"

Nicklaus’s expression changed to worried and he sat up on her bed, "I’m sorry you feel that way,"

Arissa smiled, "Don’t feel that way. I just have to freshen up and close my eyes, and then, all the stress will disappear," her voice sounded bright as she tried to brighten his mood.

Nicklaus sighed, "If that’s the case, I think you should do that now and fall asleep. Lukas told me you’ve already had dinner, do you want something else?" he asked.

"I_" Arissa paused. She needs his hug the most but since she can’t be selfish enough to tell him that, she decides to let go and rather say, "I want to eat apples,"

At the end of her words, her face turned confused. Apples? She doesn’t eat apples.

Nicklaus chuckled, "Apples? You once told my mum you don’t like apples," he reminded her, "You want to eat apples?" he asked again.

Arissa nodded, "I don’t eat apples but I want them now. I’m confused," and for some strange reason, she felt like crying.

Nicklaus let out a low sigh, "You don’t have to be confused. Don’t worry about it, take a shower and before you’re done with it, Lukas will be back with some apples," he promised.

Arissa thinned her lips, "Thank you,"

"You don’t have to thank me," he scolded her softly, "Now go into the bathroom so you’ll go to sleep earlier,"

Arissa smiled with a soft blush. She honestly wished he was here for her to hold.

Covering her eyes with her palm, she said boldly, "I love you, Nicklaus,"

Nicklaus’s face lighted up, "I love you more. Now hurry up so you’ll get rid of this feeling earlier,"

"Right," she agreed, "What did you have for dinner?"

Nicklaus smiled, "We should talk about that tomorrow. You should be asleep right now, it’s past 12 already," he advised.

Already tired and unusually sweaty in an air-conditioned room, she gave in easily, "Okay, just remember I won’t forget to ask,"

"And I won’t hesitate to let you know," a happy grin spread across his face.

Arissa sighed softly and faced the ceiling, "Okay, good night," she wished and quickly hung first. She knew she wouldn’t be able to do it so quickly again if he said one more word to her.

Tiredly sitting up, she climbed off the bed and walked into the bathroom. As she reached the bathroom and stood under the rain shower, she wished he was also here to bathe her.
