Chapter 339: Lay On Me.

"Nick," Arissa called him softly and cautiously, she held both sides of his burning-hot face and forced him to look at her.

"I did not say I love you to leave you in the next second or on your bad days. I said I love you because I meant it and I can’t tell how it happened to make you believe it more than you do but I’m sure about what I feel," she leaned down and placed a kiss on his forehead, "I love you and I’ll forever be with you. I won’t mind being with you after we become ghosts,"

Nicklaus caught hold of her wrist on his face, "I do not doubt you," he said to her.

Arissa searched his eyes and then she took her hands off his face and proceeded to claim off the bed. Nicklaus caught hold of her naked waist before she would move an inch further.

"Where are you going?" he panicked. His parent’s memory got the best of him and he feared Arissa would leave the moment she got out of bed.

Nicklaus’s grip on her waist was strong but Arissa did not complain. She turned to him patiently and replied, "I want to get a bowl of water to calm you down. Your temperature isn’t to be taken lightly anymore,"

"Oh," Nicklaus murmured, embarrassed by his overreaction. He slowly let go of his grip on her waist and after smiling assuredly at him, she climbed off the bed with a duvet wrapped around her and walked into the bathroom.

As she searched for a hand towel inside her small wardrobe in the bathroom, her mind wandered around to a thousand reasons that could make Nicklaus act the way he did and suddenly turn so hot.

Her thought went over to his biological mother and Arissa held the woman as a top suspect. How he asked her to always be beside him made her suspect his biological mother more. Perhaps, she triggered him to remember his mother.

Getting a white hand towel, she returned to his side. Nicklaus released a sigh of relief when Arissa returned and this brought a soft smile to her face, as if saying; I promised and I won’t break my promises.

Nicklaus nodded at the sentence in her eyes and smiled. He watched her as she let go of the duvet and socked the hand towel into the water. She squeezed it out of the water later on and climbed onto the bed after arranging the bowl in an accessible position on her lampstand.

"Rest your head here," she told Nicklaus, tapping on her lap. Nicklaus raised a brow at her, "It’s okay," she assured him stretching out her long legs.

The act was pampering and he wasn’t used to that but still, Nicklaus complied with her wish. Staring up at her, Arissa stared down at him and began to dab the towel gently on his forehead.

Nicklaus sighed as the blur of memories cleared a bit. "You don’t have to go through this stress,"

Arissa rolled her eyes at him and socked the towel again before using it on his forehead again, "I can’t remember saying this stresses me out,"

Nicklaus said nothing more and just stared at her as she took care of him. The room became quiet with only sounds of splashing water as Arissa squeezed the towel and sounds of their breathing.

They were both naked, a man lying on a woman’s legs, staring up at her with love and hope. The woman stared down at him with the same string of emotions while she gently pat on his head was what could be pictured and it looked like a perfect art. The soft flickers of the candlelights as the only source of light in the room highlighted their features and made them look beautifully breathtaking.

Arissa smiled down at Nicklaus and placed countless kisses on his face. His temperature calmed down a bit.

Nicklaus took the towel off Arissa’s hand and dropped it on her lampstand, "I feel better," he informed her before she would object to his act.

Arissa thinned her lips, "Lay on me," she said, lifting his head an inch from her so she would lie properly for him to comfortably lie on her.

This time, Nicklaus did not waste a second more to jump into the opportunity. He comfortably laid on her chest but did not press his whole weight on her. He felt pampered and for once in his life after the death of his father, he enjoyed the feeling of being pampered again.

Arissa ran her fingers through his hair to soothe him. Nicklaus enjoyed the soothing sensation that came from her rub and in the silence, he enjoyed her comfort better.

"Remember my first love?" Nicklaus began, breaking the long silence. Arissa had initially thought he had fallen asleep and was also drifting away but his voice woke her up from her potential slumber.

"Yes, I do."

Nicklaus held the curves on her body, "Would you love to know what happened between us and how she left?" he questioned.

Arissa parted her legs and he lay in between her legs, "I would," she replied even though she already knew about the whole story.

He has decided to share that part of his life with her and she loves such fast development. She expected him to be so sensitive not to talk about it, she thought she would ask before he would.

Nicklaus chuckled softly. He placed both hands between her and trapped her in between his arms before lifting himself to look into her eyes.

"You’re different," he pointed out, "You’re not afraid to be the real you and that makes you unique before me,"

Arissa blinked at him. The position at which they were, their sexes kissed and it made Arissa’s face turn beet red but that did not hinder her from listening to Nicklaus.

Nicklaus smirked and laid back on her chest. Listening to Arissa’s thumping heartbeat, he fought with himself and his emotions to be straight.

Knowing how difficult what he wanted to speak about would be for him, Arissa combed her fingers in his hair and hummed her favorite sound lowly.

Nicklaus’s breathing became calm listening to her and then, he began, "I’m no legitimate son to the Wyatt family....."
