"Wait," Nicklaus called Arissa to a halt when they climbed out of the car and she was about to walk in.

Arissa faced Nicklaus. Her eyes calm and questioning, she walked towards him. At first, she planned to rush in, still embarrassed about what happened between them in the car but now, her embarrassment has long disappeared. The longing in his voice had sent them all away.

When she faced him, Nicklaus opened the car door leading to the back seats. Under Arissa’s watch, he brought out a wrapped bunch of red roses from the car.

Arissa turned numb and her heart drooped into her stomach when he walked towards her with the roses. She blinked rapidly to make sure she wasn’t dreaming. She even went as far as pinching herself secretly at the side and when she felt pain, strength left her and she felt like fainting.

She would never have guessed he had roses in his car all this while. Well, how would she have known when she had been so lost in thoughts?

She was speechless and numb. Everything looked so unreal and her husband was walking towards her with flowers in his hand. In the past, she has received a couple of rose flowers from a handful of the opposite gender even when she rejected them, and to be honest, none of those roses received from them made her feel this way.

She felt gladened from her heart and her whole expression showed that happiness. She tried not to smile and forced her tears not to spill.

Nicklaus stood before Arissa, he placed the flower into her hands like one would do when passing a baby over.

"Promise me you’ll be honest with me tonight," he said, holding her gaze.

Arissa sniffed with a smile on her lips. She unhooked her eyes from his and looked down at the bunch of red roses she held. She brought the flower closer to her, almost embracing it.

Nicklaus smiled, "I should have done this a long time ago and you don’t need an occasion to receive the good things you deserve," he kept his reply short and Arissa’s heartbeat fastened.

"Let go inside," he told her and took her free hand in his. Arissa tried to act normal but she kept on stealing glances at his side profile and ended up sniffing the roses a thousand times.

Nicklaus opened the entrance door to his penthouse and unprepared Arissa halted in sudden shock when she walked into the living room.

She was speechless and numb to say or do anything. She managed to try walking away but Nicklaus held her waist gently, stopping her from moving.

"I want us to have our first date at home,"

’Bah-ham!’ Arissa’s heart resounded.

Breathing became difficult for her and she almost choked on the tears that rolled out of her eyes.

’What have I gotten myself into?’ she asked herself, her tears streaming out of her face.

She took a step away from Nicklaus and walked further into the house filled with roses and admired all of it, her lips curling into a soft smile.

She was stunned to come back to a house filled with roses. Nearly every inch of this house was covered in pink and white roses, with a gigantic heart shape made with red roses at the center of the living room.

Pink and White flower petals were spread on the floor, below seven flower-filled vases. Dozens of red roses bonquets can be seen lining the staircase and beneath it.

In addition to the flowers, lit candles were placed next to the arrangements - making it all breathtaking.

Tears streamed down her face and she shut her eyes, a blissful smile across her lips as she felt the soft petals under her legs.

Opening her eyes, she turned fully to Nicklaus. She stared at him for a moment and broke into a heartfelt small grateful laugh. Nicklaus smiled at her.

Arissa squatted to the floor level and after feeling the flowers on her palm, she gently placed the rose in her embrace on the floor and walked towards Nicklaus.

Getting to where he stood, ten steps away from her, she wrapped her hands around his neck and stared deep into his eyes.

Nicklaus wrapped his hand around her waist and stared back into her wet brown eyes. He tightened his hold around her waist and waited for what she had to say with a scared mind.

Arissa felt protected in his arms so she took her hands off his neck and cupped his face with it, "Thank you, hubby,"

Their environment ceased to exist when Arissa thanked him so sweetly and when she leaned in for a kiss, Nicklaus did not hesitate and gave into her. Arissa dug her fingers into his hair and kissed him with all she had.

From that one kiss, she channeled her whole mind, heart, soul, and body and gave them all to him.

Her tears flowed freely as she kissed him but that did not stop the kiss. "I’m so lucky to have you," she said, crying and kissing him.

If there was something Nicklaus realized so recently, it was the fact that she expresses herself better with tears so for this one time, he allowed her to set them free.

He felt how grateful she was from the taste of her lips and tears and he couldn’t be any more happier. This had always been what he wanted ever since he realized he was in love with her.

He finally felt fulfilled to be part of that awesome joy of sharing all connections with her. There was nothing more honorable than the unbelievable honor of getting to sit in the mud with her.

The emotions he felt from her kiss and tears gave him a strong feeling of love, connection, and, peace.
