His soul-Chapter 62: My dad
Gina sat in one of the chairs in front of the hospital’s emergency room silently alone, while in the other corner, the rest of the Sanders family were panicking. All members of the Sanders family seemed very worried about the condition of Julian who had to be rushed back to the hospital from all of them, only Gina who looked expressionless.
Patrick took a deep breath when his efforts to calm Julian’s wife and Julian’s parents didn’t work, as he was about to drink the water he had been holding in his hand, he subconsciously looked at the chair where Gina was sitting. He almost forgot that Gina was also with them. About 30 minutes ago Julian fainted right in front of Gina while the two were talking. That’s why they’re currently taking Julian to the hospital, it looks like his heart disease isn’t something to be taken lightly.
"Drink it," Patrick said quietly as he handed Gina the mineral water, who was sitting down.
Gina lifted her head to look at Patrick who was standing before her. Gina slowly accepted the drinking water Patrick had given her with her left hand.
"Sorry I forgot to tell you about your Daddy’s illness, Gina," Patrick said again as he sat down next to Gina.
Gina smiled faintly. "Since when has he been like that?"
"It was only recently that we all learned that Julian had a heart condition, the first time he fainted was when he visited my office to find out the truth about the death of his first love, Sandra. Your mother," Patrick answered honestly. "At that time we were all in shock when the doctor said Julian had heart disease, because so far Julian is a very healthy person and takes good care of himself."
Gina unconsciously squeezed her hand tightly when she heard Patrick’s words, there was a strange feeling churning in her at this moment. A feeling that Gina had never felt before.
"Julian, Sandra and Vanessa are victims, victims of the selfishness of a man named Yohanes Sanders and you can’t blame your Daddy all the time, Gina. Julian is the most tormented of them all and Sandra knows it."
"My mother knows?"
Patrick nodded his head. "Yes, your mother knows that her husband was in a lot of torment. Julian has lost many of his wonderful moments as husband and father of a much-loved and hoped-for baby, when you were born your mother struggled alone until I finally arrived in London and became your godfather. Moments- the important moment that Julian should have spent with you he couldn’t do until the peak he was very devastated when he found out Sandra died, all the sadness and burdens he endured alone finally made the man unable to stand up straight anymore. As a friend I know very well what it feels like Julian, that’s why I’m asking you to please forgive that bastard, Gina. Give him a chance, you’ve already lost your mother. Do you want to lose your father now too?"
Gina froze. Her whole body felt weak, her body would have fallen if she had been in a standing position. Luckily she was sitting right now so that such an incident didn’t have to happen.
"I-I don’t know what to do, I just-"
"Start by forgiving your Daddy, Gina. From that point on, uncle knows it’s going to be hard for you but uncle knows you can do it. Sandra is passing on her kindness to you."
Gina shook her head quickly. "No, I’m not as kind and patient as my mother." I don’t know since when Gina’s tears have flowed into rivers at this time.
Patrick was surprised to see Gina cry, but this was a good sign. This meant that Gina still had concern for Julian and Patrick didn’t want to waste this, he had to be able to bring the daughter and father together.
Patrick’s movement that was about to open his mouth stopped when the door to Julian’s treatment room opened from the inside, Patrick quickly ran to a nurse who had just come out.
"Which of you is named Gina?" asked the nurse quietly.
Instantly Vanessa’s and her two daughters’ faces turned stiff when they heard the sister’s words, as did Barbara.
"The patient has been saying Gina’s name over and over again," added the nurse.
"Gina is her daughter, wait a minute I’ll take her in." Patrick immediately responded quickly to the nurse’s words.
After saying that Patrick immediately turned around and walked quickly towards Gina who was still sitting in her place.
"Wake up honey, come and meet your dad. He needs you inside, only you can help him."
Gina raised an eyebrow. "I-me?"
Patrick nodded his head quickly. "Yeah, let’s get up." Without waiting for Gina’s approval in one pull Patrick managed to get Gina up from her chair, the man then led Gina to walk to Julian’s treatment room which was currently at her doorstep filled with all the Sanders family members.
"This is Gina, the patient’s first daughter," Patrick said quickly.
Behind her surgical mask the nurse smiled. "Beautiful, come on inside. Your father needs you."
Gina was silent, she did not respond to anything the nurse said even when she was brought into the room Gina still locked her lips tightly. She was confused and did not know what to do now, there were two contradictions in her at this time.
Once inside her father’s treatment room, suddenly both of Gina’s legs felt weak when she saw the condition of her father, the man she hated so much who was lying helplessly on the bed with many hoses and tools she didn’t know what was in his body.
"Your father seems to love you very much, Miss. In his unconscious state he only mentioned your name," whispered the nurse quietly to Anne.
Gina only smiled faintly at the nurse’s words, she preferred to be silent and not speak at this time. Her mood was very chaotic when she saw the condition of her father, who he hated so much, was helpless on the hospital bed.
"How weak is the person who abandoned me? How bad is this arrogant man who left a pregnant woman decades ago?" Gina said quietly without touching Julian’s body. "I haven’t forgiven you, Julian. So don’t die first, your punishment isn’t worth all the things you’ve done all these years. So hurry up and face me again, don’t be a coward. Trust me, my mother won’t forgive you if you die so soon. this."
Gina’s words made the nurse who previously picked her up unable to say anything, it was very clear that she was very surprised by Gina’s words to the patient who turned out to be her own father. Two other doctors who were standing not far from Gina also gave the same shocked expression, in all the years they had worked for the first time they heard a patient’s family talking like that to a patient who was struggling.
Gina slowly wiped the tears that rolled down her cheeks. "Show me that you are a real man, Julian. Don’t make me hate men even more because of you, then you better wake up. You still have a lot of debt to pay me, if you die here then I swear it will be very difficult. i hate you for the rest of my life. My mother will definitely not welcome you in heaven there, so hurry up and get well again."
After saying that Gina then walked away from the bed, Gina chose to leave the room because she didn’t want her heart to be weak. The nurses and doctors in the room could only be silent when they saw Gina leave, even the nurse who picked her up didn’t seem to say anything. They also realized that there was a big problem going on between the families that they couldn’t interfere with, without them knowing out of the corner of Julian’s eyes, a tear dripped down his cheek. It seems that in his unconscious state Julian can still hear the words of his daughter who still hates him so much.
"Honey, why did you come out so early? How’s your Daddy?"
"What happened to him, Gina?"
"Your daddy is all right, isn’t he?"
Patrick, Barbara and Vanessa alternately asked Gina questions in turn, just as Gina had just left the emergency room.
Gina slowly raised her face and looked at the three people who had just asked her that question with teary eyes. "The bad guys don’t seem to be dying so soon, you all don’t have to worry."
"Gina, watch your words!! Julian your father, how can you talk like this, huh!!" Yohanes rebuked loudly in response to Gina’s words.
Gina turned her gaze to her grandfather who had just snapped at her, instead of being angry or afraid, Gina smiled, making everyone confused, including Yohanes himself who just snapped at her.
"I will recognize him as my father if he is healthy, because as far as I know the man I should call father is not a weak person. The man I should call father is a heartless man who arrogantly had the heart to leave his wife who was carrying a baby, not like the man who is currently lying there," Gina said quietly, very quietly but every note she said was so heartbreaking to hear.
Patrick immediately raised his face up with his eyes closed, the words Gina said were really painful to hear. Yohanes Sanders, who was previously very angry with Gina’s first words, was speechless when Gina replied.
With tears in her eyes Barbara approached Gina and hugged her tightly silently, meanwhile Gina was still staring intently at Yohanes who had previously yelled at her. In her silence it was as if Gina was blaming Yohanes for everything that had happened to her and to her father who was the victim of his selfishness.
