His soul-Chapter 55: The same pain
Because she couldn’t do anything, finally Gina could only surrender when her father brought her home to her family, even though her lips didn’t say anything but from her body language it was clear that Gina was currently very nervous. Julian and Patrick could clearly see Gina’s current fear.
"Calm down, baby. You are with Daddy, we are going home, Gina. There you will be safe, there will be many servants who serve you during your healing period," said Julian gently trying to calm Gina while squeezing Gina’s hands lovingly.
"In fact I’m not calm because I came home to you, a house where everyone does not accept my mother’s presence."
Julian immediately bit his lower lip hard, every word Gina said really hurt him. Seeing the condition of his friend Patrick immediately acted, by giving a touch on Julian’s shoulder the man shook his head asking Julian not to disturb Gina.
"Everyone changes, Gina. For example your grandmother, do you know how hard your grandmother tried to make you stay in that house?" Patrick said quietly, joining in.
Gina turned her gaze to Patrick who was on her left. "What’s the point if only one person tries, especially if that person has a fairly distant blood relationship with me." Gina deliberately spoke like that to insinuate her own biological father did not do anything when her grandmother was trying hard to ask her to stay in the big house of the Sanders family.
"Gina..."
"I will only stay one night, after that I will return to my apartment." Gina spoke again, cutting her father’s words.
Patrick immediately nodded his head quickly, giving Julian a code.
"Ok, it’s okay if you’re only going to stay one night. The important thing is that you have a good rest tonight," said Julian quickly as he managed to read the code Patrick had given him.
Gina did not respond to her father’s words anymore, she preferred to lean her body against the back of the chair trying to end the conversation while folding her arms across her chest.
Seeing Gina’s attitude, who was still very unfriendly, Julian just smiled wryly, but his eyes that used to be droopy due to the constant guilt and great longing for Sandra now glowed beautifully when his beloved daughter, his baby with Sandra, was near him even though he was in a state which is not good.
Patrick knew very well how much Julian was suffering because Yohanes his father tried to support him by gently patting him on the shoulder accompanied by a small nod which was returned by a genuine smile from Julian. Even though Patrick was the one who often said harsh words to him, Julian knew that Patrick was the only true friend to him, so he felt a little at ease having Patrick by his side now helping him calm his daughter who still hated him so much.
After a 30-minute drive the car that took them finally arrived at the Sanders’ house, Patrick carefully guided Gina out of the car while Julian held the car door so that his daughter could comfortably get out of the car.
"Welcome home, Gina," said Julian softly with a smile.
"Your family home maybe." Gina very curtly answered her father’s words.
Patrick chuckled amused, he was really concerned about Julian who his own daughter hated so much. "Don’t be afraid dear, there’s an uncle. No one in this house can hurt you."
Gina did not respond to her godfather’s words, it seems she still can’t trust anyone in Barcelona at this time. Everyone she currently knows are people who are just silent seeing her mother getting unfair treatment, because of that Gina is still trying to keep herself from trusting anyone, including Patrick the godfather who is very good to her.
All the servants in the Sanders mansion were very surprised when they saw their master come home with Gina who was currently wearing bandages on both eyes, even Barbara Sanders who was previously sitting relaxing on the sofa immediately stood up and ran to Gina when she saw Gina’s condition. Soon the old woman was asking Julian and Patrick dozens of questions about Gina’s dire condition.
"Mom, come on, don’t keep asking questions like that. What Gina needs right now is rest so her eyes heal quickly," said Julian flatly instead of answering the series of questions her mother gave her.
Barbara immediately grabbed Gina’s body and hugged her tightly, her body trembled as she hugged Gina and Gina could feel that the old woman’s cries were genuine. 𝚏𝕣𝐞𝗲𝐰𝕖𝐛𝐧𝕠𝕧𝚎𝚕.𝐜𝚘𝗺
"My dear, my beloved granddaughter Gina. What happened to you, baby? Why do you have to close your eyes like this, hmm? Does it hurt so much that you have to rest your eyes?" Barbara asked hoarsely as she touched Gina’s face with trembling hands.
"Earlier the doctor said both my eyes just had an infection, it’s not a big problem," Gina answered briefly.
Barbara’s eyes filled with tears again. "If it’s not a big problem you shouldn’t close your eyes like this honey, but you can take it easy. From today on Grandma will take good care of you, Grandma will make sure your eyes heal quickly."
"I will only stay one night here after that I will go home."
"No, you’re going to stay here forever with Grandma. Just look at you now, haven’t seen us in just a few days. You’re already like this. I think it’s for your own good." Barbara immediately responded to Gina’s words quickly, her voice rising as she spoke indicating how hard she wanted to force Gina to stay with them.
"Aunty, what’s important right now is Gina’s recovery. Whether or not she lives with you can be discussed later," Patrick said quietly, trying to calm Barbara down.
"Yes Mom, what’s important right now is Gina’s recovery." Julian joined Patrick’s words quickly.
Hearing the words of her son and Patrick, Barbara finally softened, slowly she released her grip on Gina’s shoulders and returned to treating Gina gently. "I’m sorry dear, Grandma is just too afraid something bad will happen to you. Now let’s go to our room, you should rest."
Gina just nodded her head without opening her lips, she was too lazy to talk right now. The longer she stays by her family’s side, the greater her hatred for them, Gina still feels that the treatment they are given is a fake and Gina is sick of it. It seemed the wound in her chest was too big and it was hard to forgive her family.
Because all the rooms in the Sanders mansion are always clean and ready for use, Barbara then takes Gina to one of the guest rooms near the garden, Barbara carefully guides Gina to her new room. Occasionally Barbara gave Gina a kiss when they were walking together.
Meanwhile, Yohanes, who had been silent for a long time and watched what was happening from the second floor, seemed to take a deep breath when he saw his wife invite Gina into his room. Gina’s thin body caught the attention of Yohanes, who still couldn’t accept her presence.
"You strong pretentious girl," Yohanes said quietly as he continued to stare at Gina whose eyes were covered with bandages, there was a strange feeling that welled up in him at this time when he saw Gina’s condition. A feeling she had never felt before since the accidental death of Julian’s younger sister 19 years ago, her only beloved daughter who had to die while she was at the peak of her career as a Spanish beauty queen, Juliet Rolie Sanders.
