His soul-Chapter 543: A father’s burden
Julian refreshed his already disheveled hair for the umpteenth time, knowing the fact that Gina was bleeding made him almost lose consciousness had Charlie not been there for him to support him.
"Should I call doctor Peter, sir?" Charlie asked quietly, seeing Julian massage his left chest a few times worried Charlie.
Julian shook his head. "I’m fine, you don’t need to call doctor Peter."
"But you..."
"I really am a terrible father, Charlie. I almost hurt Gina many times," said Julian hoarsely. "And in this case I almost killed a little baby who was still pure, a baby who didn’t know anything. I was a complete jerk."
Charlie took a deep breath, the thing he had dreaded finally coming to Julian’s lips.
"My grandson, I almost killed him, Charlie..." Julian couldn’t finish his sentence, his chest was too tight.
"It’s not your fault, sir. This is completely against our will, no one would think that Miss Gina would bleed again. Even doctor Olivia, who is an obstetrician, couldn’t predict what would happen to Miss Gina, Sir. So please stop blaming yourself, the baby is fine right now," Charlie said quickly trying to calm Julian who felt so guilty after learning that Gina almost lost her baby.
Julian was silent, he didn’t respond to Charlie’s words. Guilt, anger, fear were all mixed up inside him. His intention to repay Massimo’s arrogance vanished, Gina’s weak condition made him have to think again if he wanted to keep Gina away from Massimo.
"Looks like I’ll have to let go of my ego this time, Charlie." Julian spoke again in a barely audible voice.
Charlie narrowed his eyes. "Removing the ego, what do you mean, sir?"
Julian looked up, staring at Charlie without blinking. "Looks like I’ll have to let Gina go back to Massimo.
"A..are you sure, sir?" Charlie stuttered quickly.
Julian shook his head weakly. "I’m confused, I really can’t think right now. Gina’s weak condition makes me scared and I have to think again if I want to keep her away from Massimo, but on the other hand I’m afraid Massimo will hurt Gina again if I let him go back to Gina. Two I really can’t choose one of them, Charlie... So many times watching Gina get crushed by Massimo makes me sick and feel guilty. However, I did have a big hand in Gina’s fall in Massimo’s clutches."
"You are not wrong, sir. Your fear is very understandable, you are Miss Gina’s biological father. Seeing her constantly being hurt by the same man would certainly make your father’s soul revolt. If I were in your position I would too. doing the same thing as you, trying to keep my daughter away from the man who made her suffer," Charlie answered quickly.
Julian lowered his head, Charlie’s words calmed him down a bit.
"But because Miss Gina still has a strong desire to get back with the man who hurt her, then you as a parent can’t stop it, especially now that Miss Gina is pregnant. Her bond with Massimo is getting stronger with the presence of that little baby, Sir," Charlie added again cautiously.
Julian closed his eyes, giving Massimo permission to take Gina away from him again was the hardest decision to make. The thought of Gina’s crushing two months ago haunted Julian, his guilt deepening.
"What if Massimo hurts Gina again when I’m dead? Who will defend Gina if that happens, my soul won’t be at peace if Massimo hurts Gina again," said Julian hoarsely.
Charlie immediately reacted, as if he had forgotten his current position. Charlie immediately grabbed Julian’s arm tightly. "Don’t talk about death, sir. Death is God’s secret, no creature can know when it will last on earth. So don’t talk about it. After all, you only have the name Gina? There are still Miss Rosa and Miss Selena who also need you, accompanying them down the aisle just as you did when accompanying Miss Gina to her marriage seven years ago. Have you forgotten your responsibilities, sir?"
Julian’s lips trembled at Charlie’s words, only focusing on his vengeance on Massimo made Julian almost forget Rosa and Selena, his two daughters who also needed him so badly.
"You are a wise person, sir. I believe you can make the best decision in the matter of Miss Gina and Massimo. Even if you cannot forgive Massimo then do it for the sake of the baby, your grandson. Gina decades ago, right?" Charlie spoke again. "The baby needs his father, and so does Miss Gina. Even though you have abundant wealth to make them both happy in the future, Massimo’s presence in Miss Gina’s life and the baby will not be replaced by anything."
Julian clenched his fists tightly, his head bowed even more. Right now there is a big struggle going on inside him, having made Gina suffer for years makes Julian want Gina to live well. But the decision he made unilaterally almost made Gina get into new problems. Julian really is in a very difficult choice right now.

After leaving Julian’s office this afternoon, Massimo went straight to the Sanders International hotel. Massimo came to the place where Julian took Gina, since this morning Massimo was very restless. Gina’s face kept dancing in his head and that really made Massimo uneasy, especially now that he couldn’t contact doctor Olivia or Dorothea. Massimo’s thoughts became increasingly chaotic and out of control.
"You have to eat first, sir. Since this morning your stomach hasn’t been filled with anything," said Martin quietly. "You should also take the medicine Thomas gave you."
Massimo shook his head. "How am I supposed to eat, Martin. I still haven’t heard from Gina and the baby."
"The madam is still in the hotel, sir. One of my men has confirmed it," said Martin quickly.
"I have to see it in person Martin, I have to see my wife and my son are fine with my own eyes," said Massimo hoarsely.
Martin took a deep breath, to win a debate with Massimo who was under normal circumstances was very difficult. Especially now when Massimo’s concentration is being divided, Martin’s chances of winning are almost non-existent. The only way to get Massimo to eat and take his medicine was to give him what he wanted.
While looking for another way, Martin was suddenly startled by the vibration of his cellphone in his pocket. Martin grabbed his cellphone a little lazily and intended to turn it off. But Martin’s intention to turn off his cellphone vanished when he saw the name that appeared on his cellphone screen, his eyes sparkled as if he had just won a million dollar lottery.
"S.. sir, take a look at this, sir," Martin stammered.
