His soul-Chapter 518: The lost pendant
Gina could only surrender when her two sisters who had just returned from Paris immediately gave hugs and kisses to herself who was sunbathing in the side yard of the house, Rosa and Selena who had missed their niece immediately looked for Gina when they got home a few moments ago.
"Enough...let me go, I’ll be suffocating if you two hug me like this, hmm."
Gina’s words suddenly made Rosa and Selena release their arms from Gina at the same time, the two girls who were not wearing makeup gave Gina angry looks at the same time.
"Don’t talk carelessly, Gina!"
"You’re pregnant, every word that comes out of your lips is kind words. So don’t talk like that, Gina."
Gina pursed her lips hearing the curt words of her two angry sisters, without intending to correct her previous words, Gina slowly grabbed the wine from the plate and ate it voraciously. Gina deliberately provoked Rosa and Selena’s anger by ignoring the two’s words, until finally Gina returned to focus on Rosa and Selena after both shouted simultaneously loudly calling her name.
Gina, who deliberately teased her two sisters, only laughed lightly when she realized the anger of the two beautiful sisters, not seeing them for almost twenty-four hours made Gina feel that she had to give them a little surprise.
"I’m not going to talk to you guys until you show me a present," Gina said quietly with a vexed grin.
"A gifts?" Rosa and Selena repeated Gina’s words in unison.
Gina nodded slowly. "Yeah, you guys can’t possibly not bring something for me, can you?"
Rosa and Selena’s faces turned into panic, because they couldn’t wait to meet Gina, the two girls didn’t stop by any store to shop. That’s why they didn’t bring anything for Gina at this time, realizing their mistake Rosa and Selena looked at each other in silence. Gina, who didn’t really need anything, seemed to really enjoy the scene in front of her, but because she couldn’t bear to see Rosa and Selena panicking, Gina finally decided to end the game.
Using both hands, Gina slapped the seedless black grape on Rosa’s and Selena’s lips at the same time.
"Open your mouths, this wine is delicious. Sweet and very juicy," said Gina quietly without guilt, Gina is really very good at playing with someone’s feelings. "Eat fast, my hands are numb."
Not wanting to hurt Gina, both Rosa and Selena immediately opened their mouths and accepted the wine that Gina fed them. Rosa and Selena ate the grape with mixed feelings, they felt guilty for not bringing anything for Gina who was left alone at home when they went to Paris, to a city filled with beautiful and expensive goods that every woman in the world dreams of.
Meanwhile, Gina, who didn’t expect her words to make her two younger siblings feel sad, resumed eating, enjoying the fruits that Joice had prepared for her.
Diego, who had been silent for a while, watching the conversation of the three young Sanders girls then moved his feet, approaching them. When he arrived beside Gina, Diego surprisingly handed Gina a small brown paper bag.
"Gifts for you," Diego said softly, ahead of Gina who was about to open her lips.
"What is this?" asked Gina with sparkling eyes.
"You’ll see for yourself," Diego answered quietly, still smiling.
Gina, who was already curious, grabbed the small bag that Diego gave her and immediately took out its contents, Gina’s eyes sparkled when she saw what object was given by Diego.
"Wow... this is so beautiful," said Gina in amazement, staring unblinkingly at the snow crystal ball with the miniature Eiffel Tower in it.
And not only was Gina mesmerized by the gift Diego brought, Selena and Rosa were equally surprised. The both of them couldn’t believe they saw Diego bringing something like that to Gina.
"You like?"
Gina nodded quickly. "Yes, I really like it. This is the most beautiful snowball I’ve ever seen."
"Thank God for that," Diego said again quickly, his eyes flashing how much he wanted Gina. Diego really can’t wait to make Gina his.
Diego’s pleasure in enjoying the expression on Gina’s face was suddenly interrupted by Rosa and Selena’s rude movements which pulled him away from where Gina was sitting, they gave Diego their murderous stares.
"What is this?" Diego asked confused.
"When did you buy that thing? Why didn’t we know?" Rosa was annoyed at Diego who bought gifts for Gina when she didn’t bring anything for Gina.
"That’s right, when did you buy the crystal ball? Haven’t you been busy since yesterday with us, huh?" Selena, who is also annoyed, doesn’t want to lose, joins in interrogating Diego.
Diego smiled. "I’m really busy but I don’t forget Gina who is at home alone, that’s why I ordered my men to buy the crystal ball for Gina," Diego answered proudly, deliberately sprinkling salt on his two younger siblings’ wounds which were still wet. "Wait, don’t tell me you guys didn’t bring anything for Gina, okay?" Diego asked, pretending not to know.
Diego’s question succeeded in making Rosa and Selena annoyed, suddenly the two girls gave Diego a punch in annoyance because they felt betrayed. Diego, who had expected this to happen just chuckled, allowing his two younger siblings to vent their anger on him. After all, the blows given by Rosa and Selena did not feel at all for Diego, who has a big and muscular body.
"It’s been.. how long are you going to beat your brother like this, hmm?" said Julian softly from behind, asking Rosa and Selena to stop torturing Diego.
"Diego cheated! He didn’t ask us to buy gifts for Gina, Dad," said Rosa curtly.
"Yes, Diego is evil. How can he buy gifts for Gina alone," said Selena, not wanting to lose. "We feel bad for Gina for not bringing anything for her, Dad."
Rose nodded quickly. "Yeah right, I feel bad for Gina for not bringing anything for her."
Julian smiled, his heart warmed to hear the words of his two daughters who were venting their annoyance. "It’s okay, Gina is not a vindictive little child. She will understand if you don’t bring her a present, Gina won’t be angry. Daddy guarantees."
"Yeah, but Diego he is..."
"Shhh don’t blame your brother, after all, Daddy’s sure Diego won’t know if you haven’t bought gifts for Gina because he bought the crystal ball for Gina alone," said Julian softly cutting Rosa’s words. who still wanted to vent his frustration at Diego’s betrayal. "Now you better go into the house and eat, the three of you haven’t had anything to eat since we woke up this morning."
"Then Daddy?"
Julian pursed his lips. "Daddy wants to talk to Gina, after all on the plane Daddy already tasted the croissant the flight attendant brought so Daddy wasn’t hungry."
"But Dad.."
"You eat too, Diego. Daddy doesn’t want any of you to get sick, hurry up and eat. Don’t argue," said Julian firmly.
Realizing that her father was not playing games, Rosa and Selena relented. The two of them rushed into the house without further protest, followed by Diego who did not dare to argue with his stepfather’s words again, Diego really kept his attitude so that his stepfather would sympathize with him and gave him permission to marry Gina as soon as possible.
As soon as he saw his three children enter the house, Julian walked calmly to the lounge chair where Gina was. Just like Diego, Julian surprisingly gave Gina a small black square-shaped box.
"W..what is this, Dad?" asked Gina.
"Open it yourself," said Julian softly.
Gina, who was already curious, then carefully opened the box her father gave her, her eyes immediately rounded perfectly when she saw the object in the tiny box. The necklace and a pair of crescent-shaped earrings look so pretty in there.
"Daddy..."
"Do you want Daddy to wear it?"
Gina lifted her face to look at her father with teary eyes. "Daddy would you like to do that?"
"Of course Daddy will," said Julian quickly, as quickly as his hand grabbed the box containing the necklace and earrings from Gina’s hands.
Julian immediately walked behind Gina and started to put the beautiful necklace around Gina’s neck that was not wearing anything. After finishing with the necklace, Julian then moved to Gina’s ear and put the beautiful earrings carefully so as not to make Gina hurt.
"It’s done," said Julian happily. "And you’re so beautiful, honey."
Gina who had been fingering the crescent-shaped pendant smiled a little. "It’s so beautiful, Dad. Just like what grandma gave me seven years ago."
Julian smiled. "Your grandma, your mommy and daddy, we all have the same taste baby."
"Same tastes, what do you mean Daddy?"
Julian smiled, slowly he told one of the similarities between himself and Sandra and his late mother who both loved the crescent moon. In his beautiful childhood Julian was always taken out by his mother when the crescent moon appeared in the beautiful sky, because of that he also liked the crescent moon until he finally met Sandra in London decades later and had a love affair with her until they finally had Gina.
"Oh I see, it was only natural that Grandma gave me a necklace with a crescent moon pendant. Apparently Grandma really likes the crescent moon, huh," said Gina again, remembering the necklace her grandmother gave her that she kept in one of her jewelry boxes in her dresser drawer. Since moving to New York five years ago Gina took off the necklace and decided not to wear any jewelry until finally getting back with Massimo who immediately put their wedding ring back on which Gina finally took off when she left Massimo’s house two months ago when that man divorced her.
"Actually, your grandmother has two necklaces similar to the one given to you, dear."
"Eh?"
"Your grandmother, in one of her wills it says that she left a necklace with the same crescent moon pendant as you to give to your late mother. Actually your grandmother prepared the necklace for her to take when she visited your mother’s grave in London, but God had other plans. Before your grandmother did her thing , God had brought her home."
Hearing her father’s words made Gina’s chest feel tight all of a sudden, she didn’t expect her grandmother to have such an intention.
"S-so Grandma wants to visit my mother’s grave, Dad?" Gina asked, stuttering with tears starting to fall.
"Yes, your grandmother wants to apologize to your mother directly. But God seems to have other plans, He actually immediately picked up your grandmother to meet your mother in heaven," replied Julian softly carried away by the atmosphere, offending his mother and Sandra made Julian’s heart tremble with excitement.
Gina pursed her lips hearing her father’s words, even though what her father said was true but Gina still hoped that at this time she could still be with her grandmother who cared so much for her.
"Then where is Grandma’s second crescent necklace, Dad?" asked Gina curiously,
Julian shook his head. "Daddy doesn’t know, Daddy couldn’t find the necklace. Even when Daddy confirmed to the jeweler who made the two necklaces they said they sent it to your Grandma. But until now Daddy hasn’t been able to find it."
"Could it be that Grandma forgot to save it, Dad?"
"Your grandmother was a very meticulous person, my dear. She couldn’t just leave anything of her precious possessions behind."
"Is the necklace that was given to me the necklace that I wanted to give to my mother?"
Julian shook his head again. "No my dear, although the two necklaces have the same design and shape but they are different colors. The second necklace that belonged to your missing grandmother was gold, while the necklace that was given to you was silver."
"Yes, the necklace Grandma gave me is silver," Gina said quietly.
"Well never mind, maybe if Daddy looks more carefully the necklace will be found. You don’t have to remember it, oh yeah, how was the result of the examination with doctor Olivia yesterday? Everything is fine, right?" asked Julian quietly, changing the subject.
Gina’s face immediately changed, being reminded of her meeting with Doctor Olivia made Gina reminisce about Massimo who suddenly appeared.
Seeing the change in Gina’s expression made Julian frown, Julian immediately grabbed Gina’s hands and gripped them tightly. "Everything’s fine, right? You and Daddy’s grandson, you two are fine, aren’t you?"
"We’re fine, Daddy," Gina answered quietly, trying to hide her nervousness. Gina is contemplating whether to tell her father about Massimo’s appearance or not, Gina is afraid that her father will do something terrible if he finds out that Massimo is back and apologizes to her.
"If you’re all right then what’s bothering you, Gina?"
"Eh"
Julian smiled, he slowly moved his hand to touch Gina’s cheek which was slightly fuller. "Daddy knows you very well sweet girl, you are the worst liar in the world. Daddy knows that you are hiding something from Daddy."
Gina shook her head quickly. "Nothing, Dad. Nothing, really. I was just thinking about that second Grandma necklace Daddy talked about earlier."
Julian pursed his lips again, he knew that at this moment Gina was lying to him. Not wanting to make Gina depressed, Julian then lowered his hand from Gina’s cheek towards Gina’s chubby belly which looked pleasant.
"Grow up well my dear, Grandpa can’t wait to hug you dear. My future Prince Sanders," said Julian softly as he caressed Gina’s belly lovingly.
