Chapter 481: Father’s love

Gina woke up from her sleep when she heard whispers not far from her, with her eyes still misty, Gina tried to scan her current place. Sofa, last night after Massimo left, Gina fell on the sofa with a broken heart. Gina kept crying until she finally fell asleep because she was too tired. Now that four hours had passed, Gina’s face and eyes were puffy. Remnants of tears still remain in the corners of Gina’s eyes, it seems that even when she sleeps, Gina is still crying.

When all her memories were collected, Gina’s tears were flowing again from her puffy eyes. Remembering all Massimo’s words made Gina’s chest tighten again, her heart was broken as well as her soul. All of Gina’s fears and worries happened, she was now in the same position as her mother who was abandoned.

Gina’s crying just stopped when she heard the sound of footsteps approaching her, Gina slowly wiped her tears and looked at the figure of the bespectacled man who was standing nearby.

"Good morning Madam." Martin greeted Gina politely.

With her face still wet with tears, Gina nodded her head in response to Martin’s greeting. Gina tried to get rid of the bad thoughts that were dancing in her head right now.

Without speaking Martin took out two pieces of paper from the suitcase he was carrying and placed them on the table in front of Gina.

"From today onwards you and Mr. Massimo have nothing to do, madam," Martin said quietly, cautiously, his eyes glaring at Gina. Trying to see Gina’s expression. "In the divorce papers Mr. Massimo gave you several assets, ranging from compensation money to a large deposit he gave as collateral for your divorce. Mr. Massimo also gave you a house in Almeria and all the jewelry that was in the safe, for details more fully you can read it yourself in the paper I just gave you."

Even though Martin kept talking to her, Gina’s eyes were already on the two pieces of paper in front of her. Her lips trembled when she saw her signature was already on the divorce papers which were now in front of her.

"I-I’ve never signed anything, but why is there my signature on this letter?" Gina stammered, her sad eyes looking at Martin.

Martin who had been trained not to be easily influenced by the wailing of a woman suddenly felt pain when he received a tearful look from Gina, his cold heart suddenly felt tight seeing the madam crying like this. 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦

"I already have your digital signature, madam. According to protocol, if in an urgent situation the signature can be used with the permission of Mr. Massimo of course. And because Mr. Massimo ordered me to process your divorce papers as soon as possible then I use your digital signature on the divorce papers, madam," Martin answered at length, trying to explain in detail why there was Gina’s signature on the divorce papers that were approved by the court this morning.

Gina burst into tears again, the tightness that surrounded her was really so painful. Gina can barely breathe right now.

"And since you and Mr. are no longer married, you are asked to leave this house immediately, madam," Martin added again, trying to speak calmly so that Gina wouldn’t realize her guilt. "Sorry madam, I was only carrying out orders from Mr Massimo."

Gina slowly grabbed a tissue and wiped her tears with trembling hands, from behind her glasses Martin had closed his eyes for a few seconds watching the painful sight.

"G-give me some time, I’ll get ready," Gina said hoarsely, barely audibly.

"You still have plenty of time, madam. There’s no rush."

Gina pursed her lips at Martin’s words. "I’m pretty self-conscious, Martin," Gina said again, her eyes filled with tears again. "M-massimo, where is he?"

Martin immediately clenched his hands which he had been hiding behind his body. "Master is on his way to Los Angeles, madam. Last night the Master left immediately. After my business here is finished, I will soon follow Master to Los Angeles."

The rain of tears ran down Gina’s face again, hearing that Massimo had just left made Gina even more devastated. Her hopes of having a good talk with the man who became her first love failed, Massimo, who had made many sweet promises to her, really didn’t want to see her anymore. Disgusted, that’s what Massimo said to her last night.

"I-I’m going to take a shower, you can come out Martin." With a trembling voice Gina asked Martin to come out of her room.

Without being ordered twice, Martin hurried away from Gina’s presence, Martin carefully closed the bedroom door which had been open since last night. As soon as Martin closed the bedroom door, Gina burst into tears again. All of Gina’s hopes of getting Massimo’s heart back were dashed, Massimo really didn’t want to see her again.

With misty eyes Gina walked towards the bed which was still very tidy because it had not been used for sleeping since last night. Slowly Gina reached for the small envelope containing the ultrasound photo of her baby which she had deliberately kept under the pillow so that Massimo could see it for himself.

"Sorry dear, it seems you won’t be able to see Daddy. Daddy is already very angry with Mommy, I’m sorry baby..." Gina couldn’t continue her words because her chest already felt very tight, she had been crying since last night making Gina almost run out of voice.

The Sanders family residence.

"One more spoonful, Dad," Rosa said softly.

Julian, who was already feeling full, shook his head, refusing Rosa’s mouthful. "Daddy’s full, honey."

"Serious?"

"Yeah, you really didn’t see it yourself. The asparagus porridge that was full is now gone," said Julian flatly, pointing at the bowl whose contents were almost empty.

Hearing her father’s words made Rosa chuckle amused, even though Rosa actually wanted her father to finish the little leftover porridge, but Rosa finally relented and let her father drink water.

"Now take the medicine." Rosa handed him a small plate of medicine that Julian had to take every morning.

Seeing the medicine that Rosa gave him made Julian take a deep breath, taking medicine was one of the things he disliked the most. "Daddy’s fine, Rosa."

"I know, but Daddy still has to take this medicine. Because it’s a message from doctor Peter," said Rosa again. "If Daddy won’t take the medicine doctor Peter has prescribed then I’ll..."

"You naughty girl, give Daddy the medicine," Julian shouted, pretending to be angry.

Feeling victorious, Rosa’s smile widened. Rosa patiently helped her father take three pills that had been prepared in advance.

"Daddy’s really full now," Julian said hoarsely, drinking too much to make his stomach feel fuller.

"That means it’s good, Daddy’s health is starting to get better. Daddy needs to stay healthy and strong, Selena and I are still single, dad. Don’t you want to walk us down the aisle? Don’t you want to see Gina and Massimo’s child?"

Julian’s eyes opened wide. "G-gina pregnant?"

"I don’t know, Daddy," said Rosa quickly.

"Y-you mentioned Gina and Massimo’s child earlier, what did you mean?" asked Julian hoarsely.

"I speak like that so that Daddy has the spirit to recover, Daddy’s struggle is still long. Daddy still has many obligations for us Daddy’s girls, even though Gina is married she still needs Daddy’s help. That’s why Daddy must be healthy. Unless Daddy wants to see us all destroyed, it’s okay for Daddy to be selfish by disobeying doctor Peter’s instructions," answered Rosa at length with teary eyes. "We still need Daddy."

Julian was silent for a while hearing his youngest daughter’s words, ever since Rosa became a doctor, Rosa maturity has grown tremendously. Even when compared to Selena, who is actually older than Rosa, her maturity level is still far above Selena.

Julian gently took Rosa’s hand and gripped it tightly. "Daddy will live long, honey. Don’t worry."

"Promise."

"Yes, Daddy will wait for you and Selena to get married. Watching your children grow up, Daddy will make sure Daddy’s grandchildren become the ..." Julian suddenly stopped his words.

Rosa raised an eyebrow. "What’s the matter, Dad?"

"Daddy doesn’t know, Daddy just suddenly had a bad feeling about Gina. Daddy thinks Gina is in big trouble, Rosa."

Rose smiled. "Gina just moved last night and Daddy already misses her? Hmmm... I’m really jealous of Gina, it seems that Gina has more of a place in Daddy’s heart."

Even though he knew that Rosa was just joking, Julian was very disturbed by Rosa’s words. Julian squeezed Rosa’s hand again, which was still in his. "Out of the three of you, Gina is Daddy’s child who has suffered the most since childhood, Rosa. Even though Gina is currently married to Massimo, Daddy still can’t let go of Daddy’s attention from Gina, but that doesn’t mean Daddy doesn’t love you. Daddy still loves you, Selena and Diego."

Rosa’s smile grew wider. "I know, Dad. You don’t have to apologize to me."
