Chapter 88: Chapter 88: Divorce Ethan Sinclair and Be With Him

That afternoon, Evercrest Group was running a welfare event, setting up big parasols and chairs near every high school in Varden that had the college entrance exams, with iced red tea and snacks laid out for everyone to enjoy.

Young Master Goodman wouldn’t miss out on such a golden chance to play the attentive suitor, of course.

Miles Goodman came in a white tee and white casual pants, looking all sunny and handsome, full of youthful energy.

Hearing everyone around him praising Evercrest Group, he just gave a dismissive snort, "Ethan Sinclair loves pulling these little stunts to win people over. I’m different."

Spotting Kiana Sutton, he excitedly dashed over, waving the pink elephant cup in his hand, "Little Kiana, look what good stuff I brought for you."

Before Kiana could react, he twisted off the cup lid, grabbed the spoon from the side, scooped up what was inside, and held it up to Kiana’s lips. "Best drink for summer—lemon and plum iced bird’s nest, made by yours truly, Young Master Goodman."

Ever since he decided to pursue Kiana, Miles had been racking his brains every day, trying to figure out how to steal her away from Ethan Sinclair.

A few days ago, he tried lemon and plum iced bird’s nest at a private kitchen, and immediately wanted Kiana to taste it too.

So he begged and hounded the chef for several days until he finally got the secret recipe.

Kiana shrank back a bit, keeping a safe social distance from Miles—not to mention she was married now, but even before, she never liked Miles, and there was no reason to share such intimacy.

Seeing the smile on Miles’ face falter for a split second, Kiana quickly took out her phone. She was about to type when Miles laughed lightly, "Just use sign language if you want to say something, I can understand it."

Kiana was a little surprised.

Miles Goodman was so captivated by Kiana’s gorgeous, doe-like eyes that his heartbeat sped up. He cleared his throat, "Don’t look at me like that. If I’m chasing you, obviously I need to be fluent in sign language."

Kiana couldn’t reciprocate Miles’ feelings, but she was still pretty happy. She gestured, "Thank you... and sorry, I..."

Miles knew exactly what she was about to say and interrupted her, "I know you don’t like me, but as long as I like you, that’s enough. Don’t feel pressured, my feelings are my own, they have nothing to do with you."

He said it all so breezily that Kiana couldn’t argue any further.

After all, he was Quinn’s friend—also her lifesaver. She couldn’t just cut him off forever.

"If you don’t want me to feed you, then eat it slowly yourself."

Seeing Kiana hesitate, he added, "I spent ages making this—don’t let all my effort go to waste, okay?"

Looking at Miles’ sweat-soaked face, Kiana smiled and nodded.

The two of them sat together. Miles stared at Kiana, eyes burning, while she tasted the bird’s nest he made.

"Well? Is it good?"

Kiana nodded in surprise, then gave him a big thumbs-up.

"So do you like me a little, maybe?"

Being a few years younger really does make a difference—he was completely blunt.

Kiana nearly choked on a piece of plum. Seeing her cheeks flushed red, Miles laughed and patted her back, "Wow, I scared you? Is that question really so terrifying?"

Kiana hadn’t even had time to answer before the first student came running out of the school.

A bunch of waiting reporters immediately rushed up to interview them.

Asking if the test was hard, what the essay topic was, and so on...

Kiana immediately stood up and looked toward the school gate, nervous and anxious as she waited for Joshua Sutton.

As time went by, more and more students started coming through the gates, and finally, Kiana spotted Joshua.

Kiana couldn’t call out, so she quickly raised her hand, waving it at Joshua.

Joshua obviously hadn’t spotted her yet, still searching all around.

So Young Master Goodman drew a breath and bellowed at the top of his lungs, "Joshua Sutton, your sister and I are over here!"

At that, every pair of eyes turned in their direction.

Kiana: "..."

Most of the students’ parents were either middle-aged or elderly; seeing such a strikingly good-looking pair, the reporters weren’t going to let this go.

They swarmed straight toward the two of them.

"Excuse me, who is the examinee in relation to you two?"

Kiana couldn’t speak, but Miles wasn’t fazed by the camera at all. "He’s our little brother."

"So are you two siblings or...?"

Miles didn’t get a chance to answer, because Joshua had run over by then. "Sis..."

Miles immediately threw an arm around Joshua’s shoulders like they were old pals, "Little brother, how’d it go? Did you finish all the questions? 985, 211 should be no problem, right?"

Joshua didn’t hesitate to shrug off Miles’ arm, "Who are you?"

"I... I’m your sister’s friend."

Miles had originally wanted to say "admirer," but worried it’d cause trouble for Kiana, so he resisted.

Joshua glanced at Kiana, and when she nodded, he said, "It’s too hot here, let’s go somewhere else!"

Spotlight moment—Miles wasn’t about to miss it. At lunch, he insisted on treating Kiana and Joshua, oozing enthusiasm.

Kiana felt a little awkward, and was about to refuse when Miles acted all wounded and teary-eyed. The siblings were helpless against that and ended up following him into the restaurant.

During the meal, Miles kept loading up Kiana’s plate one minute, then Joshua’s the next, even more attentive than the waiters.

There was still math in the afternoon, and to help Joshua get enough rest, Kiana planned for him to go back to the hotel for a nap after lunch.

Miles happened to get a call, so he had no choice but to say goodbye to the two siblings.

Miles reluctantly said to Kiana, "Little Kiana, don’t forget about me. I’ll come and find you whenever I have time."

Then he gave Joshua’s shoulder a pat, "Little brother, do your best on your exams. When you’re done, I’ll take you out to celebrate."

After Miles left, Joshua looked at Kiana and couldn’t help but ask, "Sis, is that guy seriously chasing after you?"

Kiana nodded, a bit torn, not sure what to do.

She’d already turned Miles down, but he still wouldn’t give up.

"Isn’t that a good thing? He’s way better than Ethan Sinclair, and he treats you better too. Maybe... you should just divorce Ethan and be with him!"

With that, Joshua let out a heavy sigh, "Man, if only Shane was still around... you two..."

Joshua hadn’t finished his sentence when he saw Kiana’s face suddenly go ghostly pale, her eyes full of terror.

He immediately grabbed Kiana’s arm, looking worried and tense, "Sis, what’s wrong?"

Kiana’s mind was flooded with bloody images, and she clenched her fists, fighting to calm herself down.

Seeing Joshua’s anxious face, she stuck on a casual smile, "Maybe I drank too many cold things today—my stomach’s feeling a bit off."
