His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 16: If You Act Cute, My Brother Definitely Can’t Resist
"Oh, you’re dressed too conservatively, go change quickly."
Kiana Sutton was pushed into the fitting room by Quinn Sinclair. Kiana hesitated for a long while, and reluctantly changed.
When she came out, Quinn’s eyes lit up, "Wow, sis-in-law, this innocent yet sultry face matched with this dress is just perfect."
Kiana’s fair skin looked even more dazzling against the red dress. She had a face like a fairy, untouched by the world, making her appear even more pure and alluring.
The dress was slightly revealing, and the marks Ethan Sinclair left on Kiana’s body were also noticed by Quinn.
Quinn curled her lips into a mischievous smile, "My brother says he doesn’t like you, but his body seems very honest."
Kiana’s face immediately turned red and insisted on changing back, but Quinn held her back, "This one it is."
Quinn finalized the decision, leaving no room for Kiana to argue.
When they left the mall, the sky had already darkened.
Standing at the bar entrance, Kiana felt uneasy. She hadn’t expected Quinn to bring her to a bar when she said they were going out to have fun.
Kiana, a well-behaved girl since childhood, had never been to a bar, let alone an internet café.
She was a little timid, holding onto Quinn’s arm and typing on her phone, "Quinn, maybe we should just go back?"
"Once you pull the bowstring, there’s no turning back, sis-in-law. I’m telling you, when you’re feeling down or anxious, indulge here once and all your worries will disappear."
Quinn pulled Kiana into the bar. There weren’t many people yet; the lights were dazzling, but not noisy.
After the two took their seats, the bartender brought over drinks.
Quinn poured a drink for Kiana, "Come on, sis-in-law, let’s have one together."
Kiana took out her phone and typed, "I can’t drink."
"Oh, if you can’t drink, you should learn. Alcohol can wash away a hundred worries. Besides, you came with me, you can’t just let me drink alone."
Kiana hesitated for a moment, then realizing no one would care whether she got drunk or not, she nodded.
The two clinked glasses, Quinn finished hers in one gulp, Kiana, drinking for the first time, found it quite uncomfortable.
"Sis-in-law, you’re feeding the birds. If the affection is deep, drink it all in one gulp!"
One gulp, just one gulp!
Kiana finished it in one go, feeling exhilarated, as if she’d opened the door to a new world.
"Come, come, have another glass."
The drinks at the bar weren’t very strong. After another glass, Quinn leaned over to Kiana and asked, "Sis-in-law, I heard from grandma that you really like my brother?"
Kiana gently nodded, she’d liked him for many years.
"Hmm... If you really like my brother, you can’t keep going on like this."
Kiana looked at Quinn in confusion, her innocent appearance almost melted Quinn’s heart.
If she were a man, she would certainly pamper her sister-in-law to the skies!
"Although my brother does like Kate Lynch, who knows when she’ll wake up, so while she’s still unconscious, you have to seize the opportunity and find a way to win my brother’s heart!"
Kiana lowered her eyes slightly, her long curled lashes hiding the sadness beneath.
Ethan had said he would never love her in this lifetime!
Seeing Kiana’s dismay, Quinn continued, "Honestly, before you appeared, I didn’t like Kate. I’ve always felt she’s pretentious and two-faced. As for her and your dad’s issues, I don’t know the details and won’t comment. But since you’ve married my brother, and he has another woman in his heart, does that make you happy?"
Kiana shook her head, not only was she unhappy, her chest hurt terribly.
"Exactly, remember, you’re Ethan’s lawful wife now, not some opportunistic bad woman. Instead of waiting for Kate to wake up and give her your place, you might as well take proactive steps to make my brother fall for you."
Kiana’s heart fluttered slightly, but also felt a bit lost, "I don’t know what to do?"
"Gosh, love grows with time. When you live under the same roof day in and out, feelings are bound to arise. Besides, if my brother truly hated you to the point he’d want to kill you, how could he have touched you?"
At the mention of this, Kiana recalled Ethan’s words from the afternoon, saying he slept with her just to vent.
But Quinn’s words were too tempting, her heart uncontrollably began racing.
"Stop being afraid of him. My brother may seem cold and unapproachable on the surface, but he’s actually quite a person. You need to learn how to be charming; charming women have the best lives!"
Kiana typed, "How to be charming?"
"Hmm..." Quinn thought for a moment, "Since you can’t speak, you’ll have to rely on your eyes, expressions, and actions."
"Hmm?"
Quinn beckoned to Mason Kane nearby, "Mason Kane, come over here."
Mason walked over expressionlessly, thanks to his good looks, otherwise, his cold demeanor paired with an all-black suit would be quite intimidating.
Quinn grabbed Mason’s hand, looking at him innocently while shaking his hand, silently being charming.
Then, she suddenly pounced into Mason’s arms, rubbing her small head against his chest, and punched his chest with her little fists.
Soon, Quinn let go of Mason. She let go quickly, not noticing Mason’s body stiffened like a plank.
"Sis-in-law, did you learn it just now?"
Kiana nodded, she had learned it, but if she acted that way towards Ethan, would he really not hit her?
"Alright, our first move is to be charming. You’re so cute, if you act charming, my brother definitely won’t be able to resist. You have to report back to me regularly."
You have to try.
Kiana nodded heavily.
After two more drinks, Quinn noticed Kiana still lacked interest, and asked, "Sis-in-law, do you have something on your mind?"
Kiana immediately shook her head. Quinn was displeased, "Fine, sis-in-law, I saved you and taught you how to pursue my brother. I thought we were friends, but it seems you don’t consider me a friend at all."
In a hurry, Kiana waved her hands faster.
"Then you must tell me what’s on your mind!"
Kiana hesitated for a moment, then typed to Quinn, "Quinn, can you... lend me some money?"
"Money, huh? Easy. How much do you need?"
Kiana raised two fingers.
"Two million?"
Kiana shook her head.
"Twenty million? What do you need so much for?"
"No no no, it’s two hundred thousand!"
"Oh, it’s just two hundred thousand? What’s your account number, I’ll transfer it to you immediately."
Kiana was a bit surprised; did Quinn really have that much money?
Seeing Kiana’s thoughts, Quinn laughed, "What’s so difficult about it? My annual New Year money exceeds a million. But sis-in-law, what do you need two hundred thousand for? Planning to buy something?"
Kiana pursed her lips, saying nothing. Quinn, seeing her dilemma, didn’t press further.
Soon she saw Kiana typing on her phone, "I’ll slowly repay the money."
"Oh, we’re family now, it’s just two hundred thousand, no need to repay."
"No, I must repay."
Kiana’s attitude was firm.
Seeing Kiana’s demeanor, as if she’d refuse to borrow unless allowed to repay, Quinn reluctantly agreed, "Fine fine, if you want to repay, you can. But my brother is so wealthy, why borrow money, doesn’t he give you any money to spend?"
After saying this, Quinn realized she’d asked a silly question. Ethan didn’t like Kiana, how could he possibly give her money to spend.
Hmph, too much!
Sis-in-law, must be protected by her!
Before the protection even began, Kiana was made drunk by Quinn.
Being new to drinking, she lacked experience, after a few drinks, consumed quickly, before long, Kiana felt like everything was swirling, as if the whole bar was swaying.
