His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 104: Make My Second Brother a Henpecked Husband Soon
Seducing people?
Kiana Sutton was a bit speechless. Whether before or after getting married, she’d only ever liked him.
Even if she wanted to seduce someone, it would only be him.
How come, the way he put it, it sounded like she was some kind of fickle woman?
And besides, she was mute—even if someone fancied her looks, they’d still be put off by her not being able to speak. No one would like a woman who couldn’t talk.
But him—Ethan Sinclair, number one on Varden’s most eligible bachelors list; looks, body, family background—all top tier.
There were more women who liked him than fish in the river; even knowing how hard it was to marry into the Sinclair Family, everyone was still trying to squeeze their way to his side.
Isn’t he the one who should be warned? Told to tone it down and not go around charming people all the time.
Even though Kiana didn’t say anything, Ethan still caught a hint of warning in her eyes.
Ha... She’s got guts now, trying to care what he does.
"Drop that look. My business is none of your concern."
Kiana puffed up her cheeks in annoyance and looked away.
Double standards!
He gets to warn her, but she can’t do the same to him!
The banquet hadn’t started yet—Kiana and Ethan went to see Grandma first.
Grandma wore a dark red Tang jacket today. Even though she was already eighty-eight, she was still remarkably energetic.
On a good day like this, she was in a great mood, with a kindly smile at her lips the whole time.
When Grandma saw Ethan and Kiana, she immediately waved her over, "Kiana, come here."
Kiana hurried over to Grandma. Grandma looked her up and down and praised her with a smile, "Kiana, you look so pretty today."
Seeing Grandma happy made Kiana genuinely happy too. She gestured, "It’s because of the beautiful clothes Grandma gave me."
"No matter how nice the clothes are, if the person wearing them isn’t pretty, it’s useless."
Watching Kiana’s beaming smile, Ethan’s dark eyes narrowed slightly.
This woman... Sure, she’s a bit plain, but she actually looks decent when she smiles.
After praising Kiana, Grandma seemed to only then see Ethan. Her smile faded a little, "Kiana’s hand isn’t fully recovered—you’re responsible for taking care of her today, understood?"
Ethan’s face didn’t show much expression, making Kiana tense up inside. She quickly gestured, "My hand’s already healed. I can—"
She hadn’t finished when Ethan said coolly, "Got it!"
Kiana was a little surprised. Why was he so obedient today?
In the next second she figured it out—today was Grandma’s birthday. No matter how much he disliked her, he wouldn’t risk making Grandma unhappy.
Soon, Quinn Sinclair’s family arrived.
Quinn wore a light yellow dress today, and her pink hair was finally back to black, making her look much more grounded.
But once she opened her mouth, she was still definitely Quinn.
"Wow, sis-in-law, you look amazing today. Somebody sure is lucky, huh?"
Kiana snuck a glance at Ethan, and when he didn’t look annoyed, she relaxed a little and smiled as she gestured, "You look beautiful too, Quinn."
"Hug hug... Quinn wants to stick close to sis-in-law..."
Quinn really liked Kiana. Mainly because Kiana was cute and soft, and her personality was great too.
Just seeing her, all Quinn’s unhappiness would disappear, leaving nothing but a soft heart.
When Quinn went in for a hug and went to press her cheek against Kiana’s face, Ethan frowned and pulled Kiana into his arms, making Quinn lunge at air.
"Ethan Sinclair, what’s your deal?"
Before Quinn could finish, a calm and authoritative voice sounded, "Quinn Sinclair!"
Hearing her dad’s full-on authoritative tone, Quinn instantly froze, not daring to move.
Grandma laughed, "Oh, Quinn and Kiana get along well—it’s just the kids messing around. No harm done."
Stephen Sinclair said helplessly, "Mom, Quinn’s spoiled by you."
"She’s my granddaughter. Isn’t it my right to spoil her a bit?"
With Grandma backing her up, Quinn’s courage came roaring back. She hugged Grandma and snuggled, then joked to her, "Exactly! Dad, isn’t having Mom loving you enough? Why are you jealous with me now!"
Stephen Sinclair: "...Such a cheeky girl!"
Neva Sheffield, on his arm, gave a gentle smile, "Alright, today is Mom’s birthday, not court. Stop scowling and lecturing, just smile."
Stephen Sinclair might have been strict and meticulous at work, but in daily life he was totally wife-whipped—if his wife told him to go left, he’d never dare go right.
Next, Neva Sheffield came over to Kiana, "This must be Kiana, right? You’re very pretty."
Kiana and Ethan had only gotten their marriage license—no wedding, and hadn’t met the family either.
So except for Quinn, this was Kiana’s first time meeting the rest of the Sinclair Family.
Seeing that Kiana looked a little nervous, Quinn volunteered to do introductions, which Grandma was more than happy with.
"Sis-in-law, this handsome older gentleman is my dad—and your big uncle. This beautiful lady is my beloved mom, your aunt."
Kiana could only nod in greeting since she couldn’t speak.
"This comic-book-style hottie is our big brother, Liam Sinclair. Just between us, he’s an engineer—total introvert."
Liam Sinclair smiled wryly, "Quinn, don’t think I can’t hear you talking about me."
"Nyeh nyeh..."
Quinn pulled a face at Liam, then smiled at Kiana, "And this is our big sister-in-law, Melody Lynch. She runs several flower shops—total boss lady."
Kiana quietly looked over Liam and Melody. They were a real handsome couple, standing together like a perfect match.
But compared to Quinn’s chattiness, Melody seemed a bit cool and reserved. She was wearing a light blue qipao today, her hair in a neat and elegant updo, looking very refined and elegant.
Melody gave Kiana a polite nod; Kiana returned it with a smile.
"Sis-in-law, my big sis-in-law doesn’t talk much, but she’s really nice—and she loves lychees, same as me."
Saying this, Quinn leaned in close to Kiana’s ear and whispered, "Both my dad and big brother are totally wife-whipped. You gotta work hard too, so my second brother becomes wife-whipped—like, you tell him to go east and he’d never dare go west."
Kiana glanced at Ethan—he was talking with Liam, but maybe he felt her eyes, because his dark, deep gaze turned to her.
Their eyes met, and Kiana’s heart jumped, making her look away immediately.
She’d probably end up husband-whipped herself—no way she could ever make Ethan wife-whipped.
Grandma was really good to all her granddaughters-in-law. She took Melody’s hand and asked about her kindly, "Melody, isn’t running flower shops exhausting?"
Melody replied with a smile, "Thank you for caring, Grandma. Doing what I love isn’t tiring at all."
Melody had a beautiful smile. If Kiana was the universally lovable cute girl, then Melody’s looks and vibe were totally that ’untouchable flower on a high mountain’ type.
You had to admit—Liam Sinclair was pretty lucky.
