His Mute Wife: He Can't Sleep After She Left-Chapter 102: Dragging Ethan Sinclair to Die Together
As soon as Kate Lynch saw Quentin Sinclair, her face turned cold. "What are you doing here?"
Quentin Sinclair spat a mouthful of blood into the trash can and painfully moved closer to Kate. He grinned lasciviously at her, "What else can I do here besides seeing you?"
Kate disliked wearing hospital gowns, so she had a maid bring her pretty pajamas from home.
In fact, the reason she didn’t wear hospital gowns was that Ethan Sinclair often came to see her, and she wanted to present her most beautiful side to him.
Unexpectedly, except for when she had just woken up and Ethan stayed with her at night, he never returned in the evenings.
Today, her pajamas were a pink silk camisole that made her skin look fair and pure.
Just the sight of her made Quentin’s heart itch. He couldn’t control his inner turmoil and gently grabbed a strand of Kate’s hair that had fallen on her cheek, bringing it to his nose to sniff.
His expression was just like that of an addict.
Kate pushed Quentin away in disgust, her face full of impatience. "Who allowed you to touch me?"
Instead of getting angry, Quentin flashed an evil smile. "When you cried and begged me for help three years ago, you weren’t as heartless and cold as you are now. What? Now that Ethan loves you, you plan to burn bridges?"
Mentioning the events from three years ago made Kate’s face change. Back then, upon hearing that Ethan was going to confess to Kiana Sutton, she was at a loss and didn’t know what to do.
Having grown up together with Ethan, Kate knew him too well. If he liked a woman, it was for life.
And he was so outstanding that no one would refuse him.
The success rate of his confession to Kiana was absolutely 100 percent.
At that time, Quentin was pursuing her quite intensely, so she called him to help her.
Although Quentin was jealous and unhappy, he still listened to her.
The two conspired to frame Kiana’s father, thinking that as long as her father kidnapped and extorted her, it would make Ethan realize the nature of the Sutton Family and give up on Kiana.
Even if he insisted on confessing to Kiana, the Sinclairs would never let him be with the daughter of a kidnapper.
The plan progressed smoothly. After Gordon Sutton was drugged, Quentin tied her up, of course using a slipknot that she could easily untie.
Kate didn’t know the situation on Ethan’s side, so she sent Quentin to check while she waited for Gordon to wake up.
Half an hour...
An hour...
Growing increasingly anxious, she called Quentin, but no one answered.
She didn’t dare call Ethan, fearing her plan would be exposed.
Seeing that Gordon wasn’t waking up, she unwrapped the tie and was about to run when Gordon woke up.
Determined to play the part, she pretended to be terrified and fled the factory.
Gordon groggily chased after her, and she was so focused on framing him that she didn’t notice the oncoming vehicle, nor did she expect that the accident would leave her on a hospital bed for three years.
Now, although the developments were beyond her expectations, there was one good thing.
That was, Ethan thought back then he was going to confess to her, believing that he liked her.
She needed to seize this opportunity to find a way to snatch Ethan away from Kiana.
Just then, Quentin arrived. He knew all that had happened then, so she had to be cautious.
"What do you want?"
Seeing the wariness in Kate’s eyes, Quentin smirked, "Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you, nor will I betray you."
Quentin gazed at Kate with obsessive passion in his eyes.
"I just missed you too much. After your accident, I went abroad. For three years, I couldn’t stop thinking about you. Every time I thought of you lying unconscious in that hospital bed, I even wanted to take Ethan down and die together."
Kate’s face changed dramatically, glaring viciously at Quentin, "You wouldn’t dare!"
"Haha..." Quentin suddenly laughed, "Just kidding. Now that you’re awake, how could I bear to die? Didn’t we agree I’d be your knight, protecting you for life?" 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝚠𝚎𝚋𝗻𝗼𝕧𝗲𝐥.𝚌𝚘𝐦
When Marcus Sinclair brought Quentin back to the Sinclair Family, he was just twelve.
Back then, he was short and skinny, looking malnourished, not like a twelve-year-old boy, more like a seven or eight-year-old child.
As an illegitimate child, he was destined to have a tough life with the Sinclairs. Marcus had high expectations of him, hoping he could surpass Ethan, making him learn this and that with little time for rest.
When Quentin couldn’t keep up, Marcus would punish him. The scar at the corner of his eye was inflicted by Marcus.
Marcus’s three daughters didn’t like him, especially the second and third, often teasing him.
Quentin’s injuries never healed.
Kate saw Quentin studying English with bruises when she occasionally visited the Sinclair Family.
Noticing his incorrect pronunciation, she went over to correct him.
That day, Quentin felt like he saw an angel. He stared blankly at the girl in a pink dress, feeling his first flutter of heart.
Afraid Quentin would embarrass him if he went out, Marcus kept him home, having teachers instruct him in etiquette and knowledge.
Since entering Marcus’s villa, Quentin hadn’t gone outside, but meeting Kate, the happiest moments were when she came to visit. He liked her smile and that she didn’t look down on him like others did.
Sometimes she’d bandage his wounds. To get her attention, he’d deliberately injure himself to make her feel sorry for him.
Later, after her older brother died, she cried so heartbroken that day, and he, feeling distressed, vowed to be her knight for life, to protect her forever.
Yet, he never expected that she liked Ethan.
Why did it have to be Ethan?
He felt jealous, angry, resentful, yet he didn’t want to see her sad or upset.
To him, her happiness was more important than anything.
So, he helped her without any hesitation.
"Keep that in mind, it’s getting late, you should go now, I’m going to sleep."
Kate didn’t know if Ethan might visit in the middle of the night, so she couldn’t let Quentin linger around.
Quentin was naturally reluctant to leave so easily, but not wanting to upset Kate, he compromised, "Alright, we’ll see each other soon anyway."
Watching Quentin’s departing back, Kate suddenly called out to him, "Wait... I have one more thing to ask you."
Quentin stopped, turning back to look at Kate, "Go ahead, ask away."
"Were you involved in Ian’s car accident back then?"
After a moment, Quentin smiled faintly, "If I said it had nothing to do with me, would you believe it?"
Kate furrowed her brows without speaking, and Quentin gave a light sneer, waving his hand at Kate, "Remember to dress beautifully for the old lady’s birthday banquet."
