His Beloved Treasure-Chapter 1522 - 427: Passion Ablaze (Part 3)
Mu Yichen didn’t say much more, after all, how could he not understand his own brother.
"Oh! By the way! Jing Feng said someone else is going on this business trip!"
Qin Mu found the sudden silence around them a bit unusual, so she said what Helian Hao most wanted to hear.
"What?"
Helian Hao looked at Jing Feng in surprise.
Jing Feng was still a bit sullen: "Since you don’t like it, I just won’t go!"
"It’s not that I don’t like you working, I just don’t like that girl going with you."
Helian Hao inexplicably felt like someone had hit her on the head with a stick.
"Isn’t that the same thing?"
Jing Feng chuckled lightly and asked her, he couldn’t tell the boss’s daughter not to go, so he had to find an excuse for himself to let a colleague replace him.
"Of course not!"
Helian Hao almost stood up, but Qin Mu, sitting next to her, held her hand on the table, helping her to calm her anger, though she was still a bit annoyed.
"Since it’s already like this, shouldn’t you sit over here with me?"
Jing Feng saw she was upset and knew what she was worried about, so he brought up the question he wanted to ask her as soon as she sat down.
Helian Hao looked up at him, a bit dazed.
Then she couldn’t help but smile, saying in a soft voice, "I’m fine sitting here!"
They’d been together for so long; it shouldn’t matter where they sat.
But Jing Feng didn’t think so, he always felt that in the future, she should always be by his side.
"What’s the big deal if we sit together?"
Qin Mu asked Jing Feng.
"Then you come over here and sit, and let your husband answer if it matters."
Jing Feng said to her.
Qin Mu...
Helian Hao understood what Jing Feng meant, but she didn’t move. However, his suggestion for her to move over made her feel happy all of a sudden, with a bit of guilt mixed in. Jing Feng was always so serious about his work, and this time he gave up such an important task because of her. Helian Hao hoped that a similar situation wouldn’t happen again in the future, as she didn’t want to hold him back.
Mu Yichen chuckled softly and said to Qin Mu, "If you can out-talk Jing Jian, I’ll reward you with a new sports car."
Qin Mu’s eyes immediately lit up.
"Hey, hey, hey! You two think you’re starting a car dealership? What’s with buying so many cars?"
Helian Hao immediately disagreed, feeling like Mu was flaunting his wealth, and she was against such displays of wealth.
"Forget it, forget it! Your wife is a person of enduring affection, let her stick with the old one! Haha!"
Qin Mu’s mouth split into a smile, but seeing the couple almost reconciling, she decided against making a fuss.
Helian Hao snorted disapprovingly, then carried her bowl over to sit next to Jing Feng, feeling that’s where she truly belonged.
"If you want to change, I’ll get you a new one too!"
Jing Feng saw Helian Hao come to his side, and his heart softened, feeling particularly warm, so he told her.
"No need! I’m also a woman of enduring affection."
Helian Hao replied.
"Pfft!"
Both women burst out laughing; the two men leaned back in their chairs watching them joke around. Though they laughed more genteelly, they seemed even happier than the two women.
Mu Yichen looked at Qin Mu with eyes that seemed to say he was watching his child finally grow up, feeling gratified.
That night, when the four of them parted ways, the couple was already snuggled up in a car together.
Since they had all been drinking, they had someone else drive. Mu Yichen, a bit tipsy, pressed Qin Mu into the back seat, his hands roaming all over.
Qin Mu was so startled she almost screamed but then clamped a hand over her mouth, frantically giving Mu pleading looks, afraid he would get carried away in the car.
Seeing her so scared, Mu Yichen just held her, laughing as they lay on the seat. His laughter made the woman in his arms feel as if she were in a spring breeze, momentarily losing track of where or when they were.
"Silly!"
Mu Yichen suddenly said, then pulled her up into his arms, still holding her as she leaned on his shoulder.
Qin Mu felt her heart still racing, but understanding that Mu had spared her this time, she quietly leaned on his shoulder, savoring the moment of peace and quiet.
Together, they gazed out the car window at the skyscrapers, the small windows glowing with light in the night, and the dazzling neon lights.
Nobody knows how many events or people one will encounter in a lifetime, but after all their experiences, what’s most important is that they lean on each other and watch the world outside together.
