His After The Heartbreak (BL)-Chapter 76: Burning Stares
Chapter 76 - Burning Stares
Chapter 76- Burning Stares
Tyler's POV
Logan was angry.
Very, very angry.
Even from the other side of the hallway, I could feel his eyes burning holes into me — like he could actually kill me just by staring. His glare was so intense that a shiver ran down my spine before I even realized I was scared.
Why the hell was he looking at me like that?
I quickly looked away, pretending like I didn't see him. Maybe if I acted like I didn't notice, he would stop. But deep down, I knew Logan. If there was one thing about him, it was that he never looked at someone without a reason.
"Tyler," Naomi's voice broke into my thoughts, snapping me back to reality.
"Huh?" I blinked, trying to act like I hadn't been lost in my head.
"Why is that guy looking at you like you broke his heart or something?" she asked, crossing her arms and narrowing her eyes at me.
My heart skipped a beat.
What the hell did she just say?
"Wha—what do you mean?" I stammered, trying to sound confused.
"I don't understand what you're saying."
"Oh, please," she scoffed, rolling her eyes. "Don't play dumb with me, Tyler. I'm not blind. That guy has been staring at you like you stole something from him... or maybe someone."
My throat went dry.
Shit.
She was getting too close to the truth.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Naomi." I forced a chuckle, trying to act unbothered. "If you're so curious, why don't you go ask him yourself?"
Naomi raised an eyebrow. "Oh, so now you're mocking me?"
"I'm just saying... if you want answers so badly, why not get them straight from the source?" I smirked, hoping she would let it go.
But Naomi was like a fly on a wound — irritating, persistent, and impossible to get rid of.
"I know what you're trying to do, Tyler," she said, flipping her hair over her shoulder. "You're trying to distract me... but it's not going to work."
Damn it.
I mentally cursed under my breath.
Her eyes squinted slightly as she stared at Logan again, like she was trying to connect the dots.
"Wait a minute..." she muttered, tilting her head. "His face... it looks familiar."
My heart dropped to my stomach.
Shit.
Updat𝓮d from freewēbnoveℓ.com.
She was remembering.
I prayed silently — begged every god in heaven — that she wouldn't remember where she saw him from.
Please, God. Not now.
"I feel like I've seen him before," she continued, biting her bottom lip. "But I can't quite figure out where."
I forced a laugh, cutting her off before she could think any further.
"Why don't you mind your business for once in your life?" I teased, trying to sound playful. "Or better still, why not go over there and ask him where you know him from?"
Naomi shot me a deadly glare.
"I now fully believe you don't love me, Tyler." She crossed her arms dramatically. "You want me to walk up to that angry-looking guy and tell him his face looks familiar? What if he smashes my head against the wall?"
I couldn't help but smirk.
At least she was finally giving up.
I glanced back to where Logan was standing, but to my surprise... he was gone.
When did he leave?
I must have been too busy arguing with Naomi to notice.
Still... the question remained.
Why the hell was he angry?
He was the same person who told me he didn't want my forgiveness anymore.
So why did he look like he wanted to kill me just because I was talking to a girl?
I got lost in my thoughts again, staring at the empty spot where Logan had been standing.
"Tyler!"
Naomi's voice dragged me back to reality as she twisted my arm lightly.
"What? I'm listening," I lied.
"Oh really?" She crossed her arms. "Then what was the last thing I said?"
I opened my mouth... then closed it again.
Busted.
Naomi's eyes narrowed.
"You weren't even listening."
"I was!" I argued weakly.
"You were staring at the spot that guy was standing at," she pointed out. "Which only means one thing... there's something you're not telling me."
I rolled my eyes, trying to play it cool.
"Oh, great. When did you become a detective?"
"I'm not a detective, Tyler. I'm just not stupid." She leaned closer, lowering her voice. "You know him, don't you?"
"I don't know him."
"You do."
"I said I don't!"
Naomi gave me a long, suspicious stare.
I could feel the sweat starting to form at the back of my neck.
Why couldn't she just let it go?
"Fine." She leaned back, throwing her hands up in surrender. "If you don't know him, then why were you staring at him like he just killed your cat?"
"I wasn't staring at him."
"Yes, you were."
"No, I wasn't."
"You know what?" she smirked. "If you're so innocent, why don't you go ask him why he was looking at you like that?"
I froze.
Hell no.
I wasn't about to confront Logan — not with the way he was looking at me.
"He's probably one of Alexis's friends," I quickly lied. "Maybe he's angry about what happened between us or something."
Naomi narrowed her eyes again, still not convinced.
"But why would he stare at you with that much hate if he doesn't even know you?"
I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck.
"Look, Naomi... some people just have resting angry faces. It's really not that deep."
Naomi stared at me for a few more seconds before finally shrugging.
"Whatever you say, Tyler."
I nearly sighed in relief.
Thank God.
"Can we go to class now?" I asked, desperate to get away from the whole conversation.
Naomi smiled and started talking about something random — probably one of her TikTok gossip stories — but I barely heard a word she was saying.
My mind was still on Logan.
By the time we got to the physics class, I thought everything was finally over.
But the second we walked in, all eyes turned to us — especially Logan's.
His gaze locked on me.
Even as Naomi giggled beside me, I could feel the heat of his jealousy burning through me.
What the hell was his problem?
He was the one who didn't want me anymore.
I quickly told Naomi to find a seat while I made my way to my own — right next to Logan.
I sat down, expecting him to throw one of his usual sarcastic comments.
But instead... he ignored me.
He didn't even spare me a glance.
The only time he looked at me was when I walked into the classroom with Naomi — and that one look was enough to make my whole body tense.
A part of me wanted to believe this was better — that Logan ignoring me was exactly what I wanted.
But deep down...
I kind of missed him teasing me.
Pathetic, right?
The physics teacher walked in and started the class, but I couldn't concentrate. I kept stealing glances at Logan, waiting for him to at least call me "dumbass" or something.
But he didn't.
He just sat there like I didn't exist.
Out of nowhere, Logan suddenly raised his hand.
I blinked.
What the hell?
Logan... answering a question?
Maybe pigs really do fly.
But then his voice echoed through the room.
"Mr. Collins... I want to change my seat."
"I'm not comfortable sitting here anymore," Logan added, without even looking at me.
