Heroine-Saving System: Reborn In A Third-Rate Manga As The Protagonist-Chapter 130 - 131: Family Outing? [III]
"And here we are… The Drop Tower." Mable said as they arrived at the base of the Tower and Koya looked up.
It was a long tower spiraling into the air, not only was it long but wide too and at the base of its tower were chairs with several straps on them.
Just as they arrived, several people were unstrapped from the chairs and ran off.
"Waaahhhh! Okaa-san, I nearly died!" One girl said as she flailed her arms uselessly and even an older man among them looked like he was grateful for his life.
He had both hands pressed flat against his chest and his eyes were closed and his lips were moving. Koya was fairly sure he was praying.
'I can understand that.' He thought, if these chairs were to take them to the top of the tower and bring them down, even he would be scared shitless.
"Papa, the place…" She dragged his shirt and pointed to the stall where you could register for the Drop Tower experience, though honestly, it looked like a booth.
There were other people there so he stood in line, there were about eight chairs so they would surely be able to enter.
"Why do you even want to enter the Drop Tower anyway?" Koya asked as another person left the line and went to go sit down.
"Because I want to see how beautiful the world looks from high up." She pointed to the top of the tower. "Also I want to feel the wind against my face when we're dropping really hard."
"Hm… well fine." Koya said as he took another step forward since someone had left the line again. "If you want it, then we'll do it."
"Papa, are you scared of heights?" She asked.
"Absolutely not, who do you think I am?" Koya replied quickly and she gave him an unimpressed look.
She was two weeks old and she was already giving him that look. He didn't know where she learned it but it was very effective.
"Next!" The person in the booth said and he walked over. "Are the two of you going to be on the Drop Tower?"
"Yes. This is our first time here so I don't exactly know how it works." Koya said, there was of course a scene where the original Protagonist had taken Akari to this amusement park on a date so he remembered most of the rides however this was supposed to be his own special experience.
"Thank you for telling me that sir." The man in the booth said and poked his upper body out, looking toward the base of the tower with the chairs there. "The drop tower takes you up and then drops with extra force, giving the feeling of free-falling regardless of the fact that you're in a chair but don't you worry, it's very safe as it has been used by more than 10, 000 people without fail."
"What if it decides to collapse as we're using it?" He asked.
Fate could not be trusted at all, he refused the fact that the annoying trait wouldn't be activated during this whole thing. It had been quiet all day which meant it was saving something up.
"Hehe~ You're one of those people, huh?" He said and looked at the platform below the chairs. "The chairs are slowed down from that free-fall by that anti-gravity plate on the ground which makes them lose force after crossing a certain distance. But if you're still not up to it then I guess you can leave."
He gestured at the plate like it was an obvious thing.
Koya looked at it. It was a flat mana-etched circle embedded in the ground beneath the chairs. He was going to have to trust that completely.
"Sign us up." Koya said while bringing out his card. "Be quick with it too."
A bit later, they both stood in front of the Drop Tower.
"What are our ticket numbers again?" Koya asked, there were ten seats side by side along the base of the tower and they were big too, apparently it was made like that to help people with a larger size like Koya himself be comfortable.
"Papa, we got tickets number 7 and 8." She said and they walked over to the numbered seats, the person on Number 6 was a middle aged woman and Koya then dropped Mable down as she sat down on Seat 8 and the straps wrapped around her magically, making sure she was secure against it before sitting down himself on Seat 7.
The straps wrapped around him tightly and he let out a sigh of relief.
They were solid. He tested them once with both hands and they didn't give at all. Good.
'Hopefully I don't fall off.' He thought, well even if he did, he and Mable would survive at the very least.
"Papa, this chair fits so comfortably~" She said and he smiled while patting her head.
"Sure, now let's just wait for the next set of people." He sighed, hopefully they were nice people that kept their hands to themselves.
"Ah sir, you're here too?" He heard the familiar voice of a woman and his expression turned horrified. It was the same woman who had the kid that he was trying to have Mable avoid.
"Apparently it seems so. You two came to Drop Tower?" He asked and the woman nodded with a small bow while holding her son's shoulder with both hands.
"Yes sir, I want to thank you again for helping my son back there. I am in your debt." She replied with a nod of her head and moved him to Seat 9. "Alright, sit down there Sora."
"Alright Okaa-san." He said and sat down on Seat 9, making Koya grit his teeth as the woman sat on Seat 10.
It was most surely… Fate, it was fucking with him as usual. Instead of giving him physical pain now, he was inflicted by emotional pain.
"All seats have been loaded." The man at the booth said into the intercom. "Make sure that you have been completely secured by the straps."
Koya looked around, as far as he could see with his eyes, everyone had their straps secured around them. The middle aged woman on Seat 6 had checked hers three times. He respected that.
"Confirmed! You all will be rising up momentarily, please enjoy the Drop Tower!" The man said finally and just then, the chairs began to lift off the ground much to Koya's horror.
The lift was slow at first, it was just enough to feel the ground leave under his feet and then it started picking up. The whole ring of chairs rising together, people already gripping their straps and the park spreading out further the higher they went.
"Whoa~ We're lifting~"
Koya gulped and the chairs gradually rose before picking up in speed and heading toward the top. He kept his head straight to avoid looking at the ground.
"Papa, if you're afraid then you can hold my hand." Mable suggested bringing out her hand and he looked at it before sighing.
"I'm not scared." He said and they reached the top of the tower, it was high up in the air and Koya made the mistake of looking downward, they were far away from the ground.
People were a bit like dots moving around, hell from this place, he could make out Hakai and Victoria in the distance sharing a big ice-cream. Hakai had the cone and Victoria was eating from it without asking.
"Welcome to the top of the Drop Tower!" The man's voice said. "It certainly is an amazing view from here right? The real ride starts here."
The chairs vibrated and several people screamed as the chairs turned completely upside down while mid-air and Koya was forced to look at the ground.
Everything that had been below was now directly above his eyes with nothing between him and it except the straps and whatever mana was holding this whole thing together. He trusted the mana about as much as he trusted Fate right now.
"Your drop is imminent…"
"Papa, you're trembling." Mable whispered. "Take my hand."
Koya sighed and extended his hand, grabbing onto her hand and she held it tightly with a smile on her face. Strangely after holding her hand, he felt safe.
He wasn't going to examine that too closely, he just left his hand where it was.
And then they dropped from mid-air, making people scream as the chairs were pulled downward faster than they had gone up and their hair whipped with the sheer force that was used to bring them toward the ground.
Koya would have been among them but he used Calm Mind to prevent himself from over-reacting.
The skill did its job and his heart rate stayed flat but internally he was having a completely different experience but nobody needed to know that.
"Sigh…" He looked over to Mable who was holding his hand but at the same time, she was holding that boy's hand too. Hell they were even talking too.
He looked at them for a full two seconds.
Mable was mid-sentence about something, completely unbothered by the fact that they were hurtling toward the ground at inhuman speed.
'It's hard being a Father.'
With that, he just let go and free-fell from the Drop Tower in his chair closing his eyes as they reached the bottom.
'Maybe the sky isn't so bad after all.' He thought, it was the same feeling as when he was flying on the back of the Dolderbird but why did this one make him afraid?
Maybe it was because he could actually see how little everything was below him.
As they were about to reach the bottom, the speed they had been garnering stopped at once and he let go of Mable's hand as the chairs flipped again like normal, going down to the bottom at normal speed.
'Where even is Riffi?' He hadn't heard her do anything at all, was she here? He lifted his hand to his shoulder and he didn't feel her making his eyes widen.
However from back at the platform, Riffi was waving at him with her paws. It seemed she had ran off.
She had seen the chairs go up into the air, done the math, and removed herself from the situation entirely. He couldn't even be mad about it.
'Pesky cat.' He thought as they stopped at the bottom of the tower and the straps removed, making people run off while they screamed.
Riffi ran to him however Mable scooped her out of the air and smiled.
"Riffi." She grinned. "Good… now we're going to do a lot of exploring. Papa, up!"
She turned back to the boy and waved.
"Later, Sora." Mable said as Koya lifted her up and he waved slowly as well with Koya raising an eyebrow then turning to his Mother.
The boy waved back.
'Not a chance.' Koya thought and turned forward.
"Thank you." He said, though he didn't know what he was thanking her for. "We'll be off now. Mable, where next?"
"I think Mama Hakai mentioned something about Bumper cars… and… Fishing… and… Papa, let's just try everything out before going to the Ferris wheel." She said. "And the Rollercoaster too. Too many things to do, Papa, Riffi, let's get a move on."
Koya chuckled.
"Sure let's go."
…
It was about 7pm now and the night was new, he could see the stars in the sky as well and Koya let out a sigh.
"We have to return to ALI." He muttered, Mid-terms were starting tomorrow and Saki was hosting a pre-Midterm party for some reason which started at 8.
He didn't know why she was throwing a party the night before mid-terms but he had said he would go and he wasn't going to cancel on her.
The last ride for tonight was the Ferris wheel and that was where Mable was on right now with several of the other girls, right now she was seated with Victoria and Disguise Master so he was looking at them from the ground as they both waved in the air while Disguise Master sighed.
"Papa, look at me!" She smiled and his chest became warm again, when she was happy, he was happy. He liked the smile on her face.
He kept watching until the wheel carried her around and out of that angle. She waved the whole way until she couldn't see him anymore.
Disguise Master could be seen in the same carriage looking like she wanted to be anywhere else while Victoria was pressed against the glass looking down at Koya with a fun expression.
"It was a fun day, huh?" Hakai said from beside him suddenly and he didn't flinch, it was to be expected.
"Yes it was, I'm honestly very surprised that you opted for this." Koya said with a sigh.
"What? You think I'm stuck up? Even someone like me wants to go on a trip too, maybe next time, we can go on vacation." Hakai said. "I have several holiday mansions in different Supercities so you just have to pick the one you want and I'll deliver."
"Hm, is there any reason you're doing this? You're confusing me, you never really do things unless there's gain for you so why?" Koya asked.
"You…" She leaned closer, close enough that he could feel the breath against his ear. "Who said I'm not gaining from this? I want Mable to join the Order after all."
"I refuse."
"She's already doing Order training, are you really sure about that?" Hakai asked and she even placed a hand on his shoulder. "Naturally, I can't force you or you'll hate me and I'll be forced to kill you to harvest your seed instead and then miss out on the amazing sex we have and I really love it when we have sex."
Yes, this was the Hakai he knew… Not the one that was acting like that, she was only interested in him for his body.
"Besides, I'm starting to like you a bit too. For example whenever you smile or kiss me, I feel my heart flutter… I don't know what spell you're using on me but it's working." She sighed and he blinked.
'What is she on about? Heart fluttering? Hakai?' He never thought he would hear those words escape her mouth.
"Regardless, we can't force Mable to stay or stay away from the Order so it's simple, we'll continue like we always have and when she's 18, she will make a decision." Hakai said. "Do you have any obligations?"
"None at all." He replied. "As long as you don't do things to coerce her into joining."
Hakai raised her eyebrow.
"Who do you think I am?" She asked and flicked her finger, immediately there were flashes of light in the air as Fireworks crackled and she bent his head over. "I might be many things but I'm not a cheater like you."
The fireworks made several people look up in awe and he got a good look at Hakai's face that had been lightened.
She had that same look that Miyuki had for some reason… She was jealous.
It was a strange thing to see on her face. Hakai's expressions were usually controlled down to the millimeter since she chose what to show and when but right now under the fireworks light she wasn't choosing anything. Or could this be fake too?
"You have a beautiful woman like me that's offering you all her money and even her body as well as her heart." She pulled him closer. "And you're still chasing after other women that are in your school. I didn't have any problems with it before but you've been a very bad boy so I'll punish you."
'I think she's lost in the sauce.' He thought.
Hakai raised her hand at the Ferris wheel and waved at Mable.
"I'll be borrowing Papa for a bit, Mable! Enjoy the fireworks!" She said, making her voice easily a bit higher than the fireworks and dragged him off afterward.
Koya blinked a few times and they were now in a small forest that was close-by to the Amusement Park. She let go of his hand while standing in front of him.
"For your punishment… You have to fuck me as hard as you can." She took a handful of her business skirt and ripped it open with the panties and all, revealing her curvy ass to her Husband so he could see that she was wet and dripping. "If you don't make me satisfied then I won't let you go write your Mid-terms."
She bent over with her hands to her feet and hiding her blushing face.
"What are you waiting for? Do your job." She looked back at him with her horny expression. "My sweet sweet Hubby~"
…
"Ugh my waist…" Koya gritted his teeth as he came out of the cab with Disguise Master, they had stopped directly in front of ALI.
He had to admit, he had a really fun time with Hakai, however she forgot to hold back when she was riding him and nearly broke his waist.
She was more horny than ever and it showed.
"Master, you shouldn't stress yourself that much." Disguise Master said as the cab pulled off and he leaned on her, making her blush. "Let's go to your room."
"Su–"
「Ding, you have received an important Mission!」
「Heroine: Ichinose Yui will commit suicide within 120 seconds. Stop the Heroine from taking her own life」
「Reward: …」
There was something in the reward tab but he didn't focus on it anymore, his eyes widened and Disguise Master suddenly felt herself being pushed back as Koya ran off, leaving her right at the gates of ALI.
The air where he had been standing displaced and she stumbled back a step.
"Ma… Master… What happened?" She asked with a trembling voice.
