Heroine-Saving System: Reborn In A Third-Rate Manga As The Protagonist-Chapter 120 - 121: Teaching The Villainess [II]
"Wasn't that what I was trying to sa–"
"Right, what was your initial plan?" He asked, keeping his voice low as he poured another bit of Red wine.
He wasn't an alcoholic but it wasn't everyday one got a taste of wine, especially since Misora and Disguise Master collectively decided to stock the fridge with healthy juice that tasted bland.
"Get to Class 1, get influence, get other people similar to me to support you… I'm not someone that involves myself in politics but don't you think there's a step after that?" Koya said as he looked at the girl, the other tables were far apart from each other and everyone was consumed in their own conversations though he couldn't hear them. "Do you know what you're aiming for?"
"If you're here to lecture me on what I should and shouldn't do just because you're older than me then this was a waste of time." She said, taking a sip and Koya smiled.
She was still as dumb as she was in the novel… So what happened if she made it to Class 1? It's not like it was possible to push out one of the great clans from their position.
Class 1 ranking at ALI meant visibility, it meant people knew your name outside these walls but that was it. There was no mechanism in the Great noble council that said if you were impressive enough, you got a seat.
The seats there weren't earned but they were simply inherited and fought for but never handed over because someone had good grades and a strong affinity.
"The ancestors of the Great clans are the original twelve Awakened that were under the White King." He said and she looked at his face. "Regardless of whatever you do, even if you build influence or whatnot, what are you going to use it to do? Your clan is a high-tier noble clan but it can't be a Great clan without a bit of a push you see."
She was a villainess right so she was meant to be a villain even if she was a cute character and she also wanted to ascend her clan to Great Clan status which was possible while he wanted to get rid of a clan as well, the whole thing was entwined.
It was actually kind of funny when he thought about it.
He was sitting across from the person in the story that probably ended up doing the thing he wanted done in the novel since he remembered from a post that the Kurohane clan was exterminated with the exception of their clan head and her own clan had ascended, now he'd stumbled into giving her the idea himself. The plot was either very accommodating or it was laughing at him.
"I'm listening." She said, tapping her finger a bit. Honestly Yoru didn't know what to do… He was right for calling it out but what could she do?
"Why don't you… kill them…" He whispered the last part out and she blinked at him. "I mean it won't be easy but you could exterminate one of them and claim a position."
'Exterminate… kill off a great clan?... Is he nuts?' She blinked.
"For example the Kurohane clan." He whispered while taking a sip of his wine and Yoru cleared her throat.
"Koya-kun, you don't have to whisper." She said while looking around. "Do you hear anything from them?"
Koya leaned his ears to the right and listened but the Cafe was dead-silent.
"It's meant to be a place where private conversations can be held. After serving, you can activate the switch below the tables that uses a silencing enchantment to prevent other people from hearing your conversation." She said. "And I made sure it was completely foolproof before coming here so the conversation can't be heard though it'll stop when one of us leaves."
"So you made me whisper for nothing." Koya said and continued drinking before letting out a sigh. "Like I said, why don't you kill off a Great clan?"
"Because that's stupid." She pointed out. "How does one even start killing off one of the twelve? Are you even aware of why they are called the 12 Great clans?"
"Exactly, that's how stupid you sound when you say you want to out-influence a Great clan to get your family into that position." Koya said and she blinked before gritting her teeth.
"It doesn't matter… The Kuroyami clan contributes greatly to the Supercities. We maintain the shadow surveillance networks that monitor every sealed district and underground passage from Supercity to Supercity. We run the vault security for half the noble storage facilities in the country, contracts that the Great clans don't even bid on because they think the work is beneath them. We operate covert information networks that keep the noble council briefed on threats they wouldn't even know existed without us. Meanwhile other Great clans remain in their clan buildings and do nothing as equal in contribution just because their ancestors helped out in the Apocalypse, a lot of us lesser nobles that are contributing more are being refused the chance to shine." Yoru said.
There was a real heat behind it because for Yoru, this was something she'd rehearsed in her own head a hundred times before she ever said it out loud.
Koya didn't argue with the content since she wasn't wrong.
The Kuroyami clan was doing actual work even though he hadn't seen them in the city before. He just didn't know if doing actual work had ever gotten anyone a seat at a table they weren't already invited to.
"Well I don't know much about clan politics but everybody has their own duty in this world of ours, including the Great clans." He said, except the Kurohanes… even if they did, he didn't know. "But if you're serious about your hopeless goal, you might as well go full in on it. You can continue gaining influence but the Great clans are seeded, if you can graduate as Class 1 in the Academy and suddenly the whole Kurohane clan is gone, then there's a good chance you can reach your goal."
Yoru placed a hand on her chin… They were talking about Genocide and she was actually considering it.
"I guess you're right, I don't even need to exterminate the whole clan. I just need to kill enough of them that they lose their clan status." She muttered under her breath and Koya kept drinking. "I'll have to target one that's not involved in our everyday lives like the Kurohane clan."
She looked at Koya who was looking at the window, he was right…
Right now the plan was very dangerous but she at least had a plan and even if her clan wouldn't be in on it, she would do it herself.
The Kuroyami clan elders would never sanction something like this. They were careful people, they'd built their reputation on operating in the background and not making waves. If she told them what she was thinking they would lock her in a room and call it a safety measure.
So she wouldn't tell them.
"You haven't said we once since we started this conversation so I'm assuming that while you're giving me this idea, you won't be included in it one bit." She said. "Isn't it a bit cruel to send a minor to her death like this?"
"Well this is all merely a suggestion." Koya said, dropping his cup on the table. "You can choose to take it or leave it, I'm not forcing but I don't do political stuff."
"I see…" She finished her tea and left the cup at the table. "Amagi Koya, you have been very helpful today and you've also broadened my options on my own plan so I am indebted to you a bit and I trust that you won't share the details of this anywhere else."
"Sure, my lips are sealed." He said, as long as she completely eradicated those good-for-nothing Frame Skip merchants then he was good.
The girl stood up slowly and passed by him however as she did, she leaned in on his ear.
"I may not be as busty as Misora-chan or cute as most of the other girls you know but I hope you appreciate this." She kissed him on the cheek and exited the restaurant and he touched his cheek.
The girl really did move fast when she wanted to. By the time he turned his head she was already through the door and he could see the back of her witch hat disappearing past the glass.
'I hope I don't get picked up by some sort of FBI in this world for that.' He thought and looked down as the Waiter approached him again.
"Student Amagi Koya," The waiter bowed. "Lady Yoru didn't pay for your meal so I wanted to know if you would be the one paying…"
"Sure." Koya said. "I'd like to get a bit of desert since I'll be here for a while."
"Ah yes…" The waiter provided another menu and he looked at it.

'I don't know most of the stuff here.' He thought, he was still lacking a bit in this world's cuisine so he ordered cakes and the Waiter brought them in quickly.
Koya poured another cup of wine for himself while taking a slice of cake for himself in the silence.
The restaurant had thinned out a bit since Yoru left.
Two tables still had people at them but nobody was paying him any attention so he ate slowly.
The cake was good and simple so he appreciated it. Misora's healthy juice phase had been going on since before they left for Familiar Isle and he still didn't enjoy it.
'Alright System, my rewards for surviving that whole debacle. I haven't been free enough to charge you but let's go.' Koya thought.
「50, 000 Fate Points have been added to your balance」
「You have received 5 Super Mystery boxes」
「Ding ding ding! You have received a once in a life-time offer whereas the 5 Super Mystery Boxes will combine into a Hyper Mystery Box that contains items that would put those received from the Super Mystery Box to sha-」
'You just don't want to give me 5 separate gifts, huh?' Koya thought.
「Correct, will you take the offer?」
「Y / N」
The system really was shameless though it was better than being stuck with other variations of the System, everyone using the System Shop for example did not have the same System across their worlds… people had different systems like a user called ThePornDragon who always purchased items that would make sex better, however there was someone that was actually stuck with a System that taxed them for everything they did.
It literally deducted 80% tax from System Missions that were being done and left the remaining 30% scraps so compared to that kind of System, his was quite tame.
He'd take a System that occasionally combined his gifts and refused to give him a straight answer while trying to scam him all the time over a System that treated him like a government employee any day.
'Sure.' He thought and in an interface in front of his eyes, all of the five mystery boxes combined into a singular big black mystery box that unraveled itself in a flash of light. 𝗳𝚛𝚎𝚎𝘄𝕖𝕓𝕟𝕠𝚟𝚎𝕝.𝗰𝕠𝐦
It made no sound as it unraveled on the screen.
He blinked and when he opened his eyes, he had received some items.
「You have received Fate Points Multiplier! Congratulations, every Fate Point reward you receive will be multiplied by two!」
「You have received 2 additional System Store slots, you can now purchase more items or skills from the Shop monthly and the shop has been opened again」
Koya sighed… Being able to multiply Fate Points was good and maybe he would get the 300k to trace the Question Mark person who had their blood but he was more hyped by the slots in the System Store and two free ones now.
The System Store slots were immediately useful, unlike the fact that he had to wait until the System gave him another mission to be able to multiply the Fate Points given.
'I still have to think of what to buy.' He thought and glanced outside again before looking at the sky, there was actually a full moon.
The light came through the restaurant window cleanly, landing across the table and the half-empty wine glass. 'No way, three rewards in one night… Is Fate really shining on me tonight?'
He finished up and stood, paying up ALI Restaurant 2 through the counter. It was finally time to check out ???.
…
He was back in his dorm room with the window open with Riffi sitting on the bed next to him.
Riffi was watching the moon with a completely still face and her pupils slightly wider than usual, her tail also flicked once every few seconds.
"It's time." He muttered under his breath, the girls were sleeping and Riffi was here in case anything happened.
'System, give me the item.' He thought and a small white stone appeared in his hand.
「Item Name: ???」
「???」
Just then, the light from the moon bended through his window in a way that came for the stone completely and the stone gradually turned into a large pearl as the System pinged.
「Item Name: Familiar Power-Up (S-Rank)」
「Giving this item to a Familiar to eat increases their power several folds however it triggers a cliche that Host will hate」
'Hm? A cliche I'll hate?' He held the Pearl tightly, sure it would increase the power of a Familiar several fold but what was the cliche?
Koya squeezed the pearl again and then realized something… The Pearl in question was no longer in his hand anymore, he turned to Riffi and the Familiar gulped as she swallowed it.
"Meow~"
Her body let out a brilliant white light and he wondered what would happen, would she unleash some sort of hidden bloodline?
Or maybe she would absorb the ambient mana in the room and evolve into a higher-tier beast form?
Or perhaps her Void Step would deepen into something that let her phase through dimensions entirely?
Maybe the Dead Zone ability would expand into something that could null an entire battlefield. He was running through possibilities and every single one of them was a reasonable outcome for an S-Rank power-up item.
The blinding light slowly died down… and Riffi was revealed to be a girl with silverish-gray hair and an amazing chest completely naked next to him and two cat ears on her head.
Koya's face paled for a moment before he sighed.
'So it's the standard transforming into a human cliche, huh?' He thought.
The System was really doing everything in its power to keep him as a Third Rate protagonist… He had fed an S-Rank power-up item to his void mountain cat Familiar under a full moon and gotten a naked girl with cat ears.
Of course he did. 'Well as long as she doesn't magically learn Engli-'
"Master~" Her voice sounded, sending a chill down his spine as she looked into his eyes. "Ah, what happened to my body?"
She got off the bed and stood on the ground with two legs surprisingly, looking at her body. First she touched her cat ears which were a bit bigger than when she was in her cat form and also her tail but then she began pressing her breasts.
"Ah… I really turned into a pesky human woman." She said, pressing her cheek with one finger like she was testing how it felt. "The skin is so soft and I can't smell half the things I could before. This is extremely inconvenient."
She sniffed the air twice, frowned, then gave up. "But that means Mable won't be able to ride me again, Master, come on, look at me."
Koya ran a hand down his face.
"Put on some clothes before someone sees yo-"
The door suddenly creaked open and a groggy Misora stood there, rubbing her eyes.
Her hair was slightly flat on one side from sleeping, she was in her night clothes, and she had clearly only gotten up to check on him because he'd been gone a while. She looked into the room and the smile as well as the sleepiness on her face died.
The silence stretched for about two full seconds as Misora's eyes moved from Koya, to Riffi, to Riffi's chest, then back to Koya.
Koya raised his hands in front of him.
"I can explain."
On the other hand, Riffi looked at her chest then at the chest of Misora.
"I have a bigger chest than you, Meow~"
'… Fuck.'
