Heroes' Prison-Chapter 1552 - 1478: Conversation with the God of Space
Heaven Realm, Space Temple.
The Space Temple is a wondrous area, with palaces floating within, foundations suspended in the sky. Even peaks, fountains, rivers, pedestrians, and guards all float in the sky. They seem to have lost gravity, yet unlike true zero gravity, they do not float aimlessly.
But their spatial configuration is contrary to normal; those houses floating in the sky have roofs oriented towards the ground, the spires of towering poles point downwards, guards and pedestrians stand with feet towards the sky and heads downwards, walking in reverse. Waterfalls rise upwards and pour into a high-altitude pool.
All this seems as if it’s a reflection in lake water.
This is the effect of Spatial Power; here, like outer space, there is no absolute direction. Concepts like up, down, left, and right do not exist.
Suddenly, a shadow appeared before one of the palaces.
The figure donned a Black Robe, hood concealing a deep Black Hole, emanating an unfathomable aura. It was the King of Hell’s avatar.
Having departed from the Demon Race Microcosm within the Mortal Realm, he came to the Heaven Realm through a perilous rift between realms.
Upon arrival at the Space Temple, like everything else around, he stood inverted in the void, head down, feet up.
A few nearby guards saw him and promptly bowed slightly, respectfully saying: "Greetings, O King of Hell."
The King of Hell ignored them, stepping onto the stairs before the hall and boldly striding into the grand hall.
The vast hall was empty, save for the King of Hell advancing steadily, making no sound, like an invisible shadow gliding by.
Surrounding murals bore a raw primitive style, stained glass windows cast multicolored shadows, and at the hall’s end was a room, its door half closed, offering a glimpse inside.
The King of Hell halted before the room door, raising his hood slightly, as if casting two invisible gazes from within it, fixing on the room.
After a long gaze, a voice finally resonated from the Black Hole beneath the hood: "God of Space, long time no see."
His tone was extremely calm, as if addressing an old friend; others speaking to a Supreme God like the God of Space would be deferential, but the King of Hell showed no such respect, not even formal address.
"Indeed, it’s been a long time. A dramatic change is imminent, perhaps this time Hope exists to grasp the ultimate answer; I must personally partake in this upheaval." Within the room, a distant voice sounded, as if from another world, faintly echoing.
"Do you truly believe in the existence of the ultimate answer? Even His Majesty the God King couldn’t obtain it back then."
"Destiny is unfathomable, every upheaval brings unique opportunities; our era is unlike His Majesty the God King’s epoch."
"Are you referring to the Heaven-Sent Man?" the King of Hell asked.
"The Heaven-Sent Man is indeed crucial, but not everything. The Underworld King, Death God, Huang Quan from the Land of Origin have already uncovered clues, equally important. Moreover, when I breached the barrier between the Divine-Demon Realms, I had my own considerations; I am pursuing the ultimate answer through my means."
"If you grasp the ultimate answer, your Achievement will undoubtedly surpass the Divine King Sovereign, glimpsing higher realms."
"I never contemplated that; I simply yearn to unravel the limits of space. As the God of Space, yet ignorant of space’s limits, unfamiliar with what lies beyond space’s end. These queries have plagued me for endless ages; without resolution, I shall find no peace."
The King of Hell shook his head, saying: "Ultimate questions seem vast, yet are merely varied inquiries into ultimate truth; when you unravel the ultimate answer regarding space, you’ll indeed comprehend what lies beyond the limits of time, what exists before Origin. Then you’ll naturally transcend the Divine King Sovereign, it’s inevitable for you." 𝗳𝚛𝗲𝕖𝕨𝕖𝗯𝚗𝚘𝕧𝕖𝗹.𝗰𝗼𝕞
"You’ve come here not just to chat with me, right? Disclose your purpose!"
The King of Hell approached, addressing the room with the Black Hole beneath his hood: "I need to borrow your Space Lock."
"Not lending." A crisp voice echoed within the door.
The King of Hell’s hood trembled slightly, seemingly unexpecting to hear "not lending."
Those words were crisp and straightforward, even possessing a simple sincerity, like a child’s direct response to another child borrowing a toy: "not lending."
Yet undeniably, these words "not lending" concisely and fully conveyed the God of Space’s meaning.
"Why not lend? You hardly require the Space Lock anymore," the King of Hell asked.
"I know why you want to borrow it; you seek to refine The Second World. After emerging from seclusion, I heard Jiang Sheng and others mention your prior attempt to refine The Second World. That time you failed, haven’t you given up?"
"No reason has appeared to make me abandon this yet. If you won’t lend the Space Lock, it’s fine. I have other ways, though they’ll be more troublesome." The King of Hell said calmly, unfazed by the God of Space’s words.
"Of course, that’s your freedom. I can’t interfere with your actions in the Mortal Realm but I believe you will definitely fail." The God of Space said indifferently.
"Only by attempting all methods will one know if failure is ultimate. Thank you for your attention, farewell." The King of Hell stated, turning to leave without delay.
"King of Hell, there’s one more thing I must inform you. After emerging, I visited the Temple of Fate to browse the Book of Fate, and happened upon your fate." The voice of the Space Envoy leisurely emanated from the room.
The King of Hell’s steps abruptly paused as if jolted by this news, yet the Black Hole beneath his hood remained unchanged, concealing his expression and inner thoughts.
"Oh? What’s written there?" The King of Hell again turned, his hooded Black Hole facing that room.
"Heaven’s secrets cannot be divulged; I can only say, your time in the Mortal Realm is limited. Cherish the remaining moments!" The God of Space said mysteriously.
The King of Hell stood still for a while, finally taking steps forward again, departing without a backward glance, saying: "Many things are destined, yet destiny is determined by me."
