Heroes' Prison-Chapter 1241 - 1179: Mortal God (2)
The second kind is the Void Gods. They are top-level demigods whose internal strength has completely transformed into divine power, and their bodies have become divine. They possess many wondrous powers and can attempt to condense their divine power into divinity, striving for Divine Enthronement. Examples include the dean of the Oskan Royal Academy, Takasma’s cat, the guardian of the Hero Empire, and the Wandering Divine Envoy Clare.
The third kind is the Mortal Gods. They are also considered as Void Gods, but their divinity has already been fully formed, and they are supposed to go to the Heaven Realm for their Divine Enthronement. However, they hide within places like demon-sealing spaces, such as Heroes’ Prison, cutting themselves off from the pull of Divine Enthronement, thus avoiding it. Individuals at this level include the Seven Archdemons and the leaders of the universe’s major top races.
The fourth kind is the False Gods. They were once deities but have fallen for various reasons, resulting in a downgrade of their strength. The strength of False Gods varies; the weakest may be akin to a mortal, such as Huang Yi’s mother, the Forest Goddess, who was just an ordinary spirit cat. In contrast, the strongest False Gods could potentially achieve Divine Enthronement again at any moment.
The fifth kind is the deities of the Heaven Realm, mostly Divine Enthroners from various worlds, though some have existed since creation, like the Death God, God of Life, God of Time, and God of Space, these significant figures.
As they chatted, Huang Yi and his party finally arrived at the door of cell number 35.
The eight demigods seemed to detect a faint sense of oppression emanating from the cell door and immediately fell silent, creating a tense atmosphere.
Huang Yi inserted the key, took a deep breath, and opened the cell door.
The next moment, everyone held their breath, looking up inside.
Prisoners ranked in the top 100 generally stayed in the air within the cell, projecting a lofty demigod aura even if they remained silent. But the air inside cell 35 was empty, showing no traces of any being.
Their gaze lowered, finally discovering a figure.
It was a lean man slumped on the ground, looking dejected and desolate.
A pair of wings grew from his back, but the feathers were shattered, his face showed indifference, and his eyes were dim, resembling a drunkard casually sitting on the ground, seemingly uninterested in anything, devoid of the aura someone of his level should possess.
Even with the cell door opened, his expression did not change, as if nothing could disturb his state of mind.
"Hmm? Another member of the Feathered Race?!" Huang Yi murmured softly, observing his appearance.
This man looked quite similar to the six Feathered Race guardians he had previously released!
Inside the cell, the man finally showed a flicker of emotion in his dull eyes upon hearing "Feathered Race".
"Who are you?" he asked coldly, his voice hoarse as if he hadn’t spoken for a long time.
Huang Yi replied seriously, "I am the current Prison Warden of Heroes’ Prison, the God of Slaughter. As long as you agree to become the guardian of my Hero Empire, I will release you." 𝙛𝒓𝓮𝙚𝔀𝒆𝒃𝓷𝒐𝓿𝙚𝓵.𝙘𝒐𝒎
The man’s expression remained unchanged, and he asked, seemingly to himself, "You just said ’another member of the Feathered Race’, have you seen other Feathered Race members?"
"Yes!" Huang Yi nodded, "Currently, our Hero Empire already has six demigod guardians from the Feathered Race, all of whom, like you, came from this Heroes’ Prison. They have all gained their freedom, and if you agree to become a guardian, you can be free immediately as well."
As he spoke, Huang Yi flapped the Wings of the Sun Chaser behind him, displaying them to the man in the cell while saying, "These wings were created by the last Epic Hero of your Feathered Race’s declining era — Icarus. Moreover, I have also learned a phrase from the Word Spirit Scriptures of the God of Faith, Johns — ’God said let there be light, and there was light!’
As his words concluded, brilliant light suddenly filled the air, illuminating the dim corridor. The Wings of the Sun Chaser on his back shone brightly, with each feather gently floating, absorbing the surrounding light.
"The Feathered Race has indeed fallen..." The man looked at the Wings of the Sun Chaser behind Huang Yi and murmured to himself, "If I were still here, the Feathered Race wouldn’t have fallen."
"Oh? Who are you?" Huang Yi raised an eyebrow, curiously inquiring.
This man appeared so desolate outwardly, yet his words were so arrogant, as if he could single-handedly change history. Yet, the tone of his voice seemed more regretful over an unmaterialized reality than a boast.
Lowering his head, the man whispered, "Even if I told you my name, you wouldn’t know. When people mention the Feathered Race, the first thought that comes is the God of Faith, Johns. Who would think of me? My feathers are even broken."
"Hmm? Got it! I know who he is!" At this moment, Ye Xingtian, the demigod from the Night Clan behind Huang Yi, suddenly exclaimed, staring intently at the man in the cell and excitedly declared, "He, he is the Mortal God of the Feathered Race — Fallen Feather Broken Feather!"
"He is the Fallen Feather Broken Feather, one of the twin talents of the Feathered Race during the Primordial Era?"
"I have also heard of his exploits. He was once as famous as the God of Faith, Johns, but was completely overshadowed by him later."
After Ye Xingtian’s words, the demigod guardians began to discuss among themselves, evidently having heard of the story of the man in the cell.
"Who is he? Why haven’t I heard of him?" Huang Yi turned to look at Ye Xingtian.
Maintaining a solemn, respectful demeanor, Ye Xingtian, still staring at the man in the cell, stated, "You youngsters likely haven’t heard his legend. History books usually only record the name of the Divine Enthroner, the God of Faith, Johns, but there’s little mention of Fallen Feather Broken Feather, which is quite unfair.
Taking a deep breath, Ye Xingtian continued, "During the Primordial Era, two unparalleled geniuses emerged from the Feathered Race in your Second World, one from the ’Chase Sun Clan’ named Johns, and the other from the ’Falling Star Clan’ named Broken Feather. Both were unprecedentedly dazzling stars of the Feathered Race. Later, when Johns joined the Demon Clan, Broken Feather shone alone and was intensively nurtured by the Feathered Race. Years later, when Johns suddenly defected from the Demon Clan and returned to the Feathered Race, he’d already ascended to the Void God Level, surpassing Broken Feather, and subsequently unified the various clans of the Feathered Race, becoming their leader.
Shaking his head, Ye Xingtian said, "Later, Broken Feather also reached the Void God Level, and both geniuses had a smooth divinity-condensing process. At the culmination of this process, their choices diverged drastically. Johns chose to become a god, heading to the Heaven Realm, abandoning the Feathered Race. Conversely, for the advancement and strength of the Feathered Race, Broken Feather refrained from becoming a god, opting to find a demon-sealing space to remain in the Mortal World, becoming a Mortal God to eternally guard the Feathered Race. However, at that time, Broken Feather suddenly disappeared, never to be seen again, with no one knowing what happened to him. He became a source of sorrow for the Feathered Race, failing to bring glory to his race through Divine Enthronement, nor could he guard them as a Mortal God, disappearing without a trace. Consequently, the members of the Falling Star Clan referred to him as ’Fallen Feather Disconsolation.’ I didn’t expect Broken Feather to be imprisoned in Heroes’ Prison! I don’t know what happened back then."
After hearing Ye Xingtian’s words, Huang Yi couldn’t help but re-assess the despondent man in the cell. This person was actually a Mortal God, a contemporary of the God of Faith, Johns, and could ascend to the Heaven Realm at any time through Divine Enthronement.

This is a four-thousand-word Chapter. I originally intended to split it into two Chapters, but since the concept of "Mortal God" needed to be described, I decided to put it all together.
