Heroes' Prison-Chapter 1160 - 1099: The Origin of the Nagas
"Come in and talk!" The dean extended his hand and made a gesture inviting Huang Yi.
Huang Yi nodded, letting Xiao Chunzi play outside for a while by herself, and followed the dean into the office.
The dean solemnly closed the doors and windows, sealing their conversation within the room.
"These days, I’ve been busy dealing with matters of the Lost Races. Last time, when the Seven Archdemons invaded, several Racial Holy Lands were destroyed. The chiefs of those races have been complaining to me. I must say, this is more exhausting than fighting a battle." The dean sat heavily in his office chair, sighing wearily, and gently massaged his temples.
After a while, he shook his head, gathered his spirits again, looked at Huang Yi, and said, "The Nashash is a very ancient race, rarely mentioned even in the First World. Why did you come specifically to inquire about them? Could it be that you obtained an object from the Nashash Clan?"
"Yes!" Huang Yi said, with a flick of his hand, taking out the ancient letter from the Nashash, and handed it over, "I obtained a Nashash letter, but I don’t understand the Nasash Language, and can’t read the information inside. I ask the dean to help translate it."
"Oh? A Nashash letter?" The dean’s expression froze, quickly took the letter, unfolded it rapidly, and began reading it intently.
The dean’s expression was focused, with his wise old eyes shimmering with light, reflecting the snake-like twisted characters on the letter paper.
As the reading deepened, the dean’s expression gradually became grave.
Suddenly, his hand shook, he opened his mouth wide, and stared dead at a paragraph on the letter, showing an expression of shock.
After his expression changed several times, he finally finished reading the letter. He tightly gripped the letter paper, closed his eyes, and leaned back on the chair, seemingly digesting the information in the letter.
"How could it be... How could it involve the Second World... What exactly is the proposal?" The dean mumbled lowly to himself, wearing a very puzzled expression.
After a while, he reopened his eyes and read the content of the letter once again.
"Where did you get this letter?" Finally, the dean raised his head and looked at Huang Yi.
"I got it from an interstellar smuggler," Huang Yi confessed, "The interstellar smuggler said she found this letter in a library ruin in the First World. The envelope was sealed with wax and had never been opened before; I was the first to open this letter."
"The Phoenix Royal Library!" The dean promptly uttered a name, shaking his head, "What a pity! This letter was opened by you first. If it had reached the person it was intended for, the history of the First World could have been rewritten, perhaps even affecting the Second World, although I don’t know exactly what it refers to."
"Huh?" Huang Yi was slightly surprised, "How could it involve the Second World? What exactly was written in the letter?"
"I’ll write it out for you to see!" The dean said, taking a goose feather brush from the desk, dipping it in ink, and started writing on a piece of parchment.
After a while, the dean finally put down the goose feather brush and handed the parchment to Huang Yi.
Huang Yi quickly took the paper, on which the content had already been translated into the universal language of the Second World, a language Huang Yi had learned through his system language library. The system had translated the letter’s text into Chinese, presenting it before Huang Yi’s eyes—
To the Great Sovereign Serpent:
Since a hundred years ago, when the elders of the research institute discovered the true cause of our race’s reproductive decline, fierce debates have erupted within the clans, proposing numerous solutions. Currently, the proposal from the Blood Serpent Clan is the most acclaimed. It seems Your Majesty is also inclined to adopt their proposal, but such a proposal is too reckless. If discovered by outsiders, it will incite the fury of all creatures in the Second World, igniting the flames of war between the two worlds. At that time, the Nashash who rule the First World will be the first to face the onslaught from the Second World!
Moreover, the proposal from the Blood Snake Clan can only temporarily solve the problem, merely prolonging a period of prosperity for our race. Eventually, our race will face today’s challenges again. The issue of reproductive decline won’t be truly solved.
This matter concerns the fate of our entire Nashash Clan. If mishandled, there will be a risk of extinction. I implore Your Majesty to abandon the reckless plan proposed by the Blood Snake Clan and consider it carefully!
As the curator of the Phoenix Royal Library, I am deeply concerned for our race’s fate. Fortunately, the library houses the great wisdom of our race’s past prophets. I have searched the vast historical documents, even the snippets carved on stone slabs by our ancestors in the Primordial Age, seeking every possibility to save our race’s fate.
After years of research, I have finally discovered a method to completely solve the problem!
In the vast cosmos, countless worlds and countless races are all progressing on different paths of evolution, but the goal is the same: to reach the end of evolution—a perfect, flawless race.
Our Nashash Clan is already one of the races at the forefront of evolution among the billions in the universe. Our bodily functions have become increasingly rich, our strength increasingly powerful, our physical structure increasingly complex, to the point where the cost of passing these traits to the next generation is increasingly high, requiring more resources. Thus, reproduction has become more difficult, leading to the current issue of reproductive decline.
Not just us, but all the most powerful races in the universe face this issue of reproductive decline after reaching their peak. This is the ultimate problem in species evolution!
From ancient texts, I found methods used by other top-level races when facing this situation. The method used by the Dragon Clan is particularly special. They combined with lower humans to produce a derivative race called ’Dragon People’. This derivative race has some characteristics of both the Dragon Clan and the Human Race, but their reproductive ability is much stronger than that of the Dragon Clan. Although Dragon People still have many physiological defects, and the fusion of the Dragon Clan with the Human Race is far from perfect, given enough time, through thousands of generations of reproductive optimization, it is very likely they could perfectly combine the strengths of the Dragon Clan and Humanity, while discarding the defects of both, thus paving a path to the end of evolution, becoming truly a perfect race.
Following the method of the Dragon Clan, I personally led some mentors of the library in conducting experiments and have already reaped results!
We have chosen the Sea Snake Clan. Sea Snakes are a lower species, but possess strong reproductive ability and morphologically are very similar to our Nashash, making them an ideal fusion partner.
In recent years, I and some library mentors have mated with numerous Sea Snakes, successfully producing a new form of life, which I have named... Nagas.
