Chapter 276: Flame God Serum

The wind rushed across the broken testing sector.

Smoke still rose from the shattered traps.

Volt Stride stepped forward, her boots crunching glass underfoot.

She pointed at Izzo.

"Your plan... years in the making, right?" she said.

Izzo wiped his mouth with the back of his hand.

His breathing was uneven. His arm was bruised from a trap.

"So what?" he spat. frёeweɓηovel_coɱ

Volt smiled.

"All that planning. All those fake hero records. Just to lose like this."

Izzo growled. "Don’t kid me."

He stepped back slowly.

"You think catching me will stop it? The plan’s already in motion."

Volt’s eyes narrowed.

"After I catch you, we’ll crush the rest."

"You won’t catch me."

Izzo reached into his coat.

Volt’s expression changed.

Her stance shifted. Her hand gripped the hilt at her back.

"What’s that?"

Izzo pulled out a thick black syringe. The liquid inside swirled like fire and blood.

"This," he said, raising it with pride, "is the Flame God Cult’s newest creation."

Volt’s eyes sharpened.

"A serum?"

Izzo smirked.

"We call it the Flame God Serum."

He jabbed it into his neck.

Volt’s body moved instantly—she dashed forward.

But she was too late.

Izzo’s body jerked and spasmed.

His skin cracked. Red steam hissed out from under his sleeves. His veins glowed.

His scream echoed through the sector.

His back arched as flames erupted from his spine, spreading into molten tendrils.

His eyes burned bright orange.

His voice deepened, warped.

"Let me show you why our cult will rise."

Volt jumped back.

Izzo’s body swelled.

Black and red plates grew over his chest like armor.

Flames danced across his arms.

His hair burned away, replaced by a crown of fire.

His mouth twisted with sharp teeth.

The heat blasted outward. Panels melted. Glass exploded.

Volt cursed and raised her arms to shield herself.

"Royal-class...?" she whispered.

Izzo slammed a burning foot forward.

The ground cracked beneath him.

"[Infernal Overgrowth]," he roared.

Flame tendrils burst from his arms, slamming into the wreckage and sweeping it aside.

Armor-like plates clicked into place across his body.

Volt narrowed her eyes.

"So this is your final card."

Izzo laughed.

"And you thought this was over."

His voice echoed like a furnace.

"Now watch. [Godflame Rampage]!"

He charged forward.

Each step caused explosions under his feet.

Volt dashed to the side, barely avoiding the wave of flame.

"Still fast," she muttered.

Izzo grinned. His body was a walking inferno.

"[Ash Pulse Roar]!"

A shockwave burst from his lungs.

It melted a wall nearby and knocked Volt sideways.

She flipped midair and landed, skidding back with sparks under her boots.

"Alright," she said, breathing hard. "Looks like I’ll have to get serious."

But inside, she frowned.

Nobody told her this was possible.

No record of this serum. No sign of Royal-class mutation tech like this.

And Izzo didn’t look like he’d burn out soon.

She tapped her earpiece.

"This is Volt Stride. Izzo has transformed. Royal-class flame mutant. I need backup—now!"

Her voice crackled through the comms.

Somewhere across the broken test sector, Ember Striker and Sightpiercer heard her.

Ember Striker stood on a high platform, his red coat fluttering behind him.

His hands were already lighting up with heat.

"Tch. I knew he looked shady," he muttered.

He turned to Sightpiercer, who stood calmly beside a destroyed pillar.

"Looks like we’re up."

Sightpiercer adjusted the scope on his right eye. It glowed blue.

"Guess we’re teaming up after all."

Ember jumped down.

"Let’s go. If she falls, it’ll get messy."

They both took off toward Volt’s location, moving fast across debris and fallen platforms.

Back at the battlefield, Volt ducked under a flaming strike and dashed around Izzo’s side.

"[Volt Shift: Arc Escape]," she shouted.

She moved like lightning, avoiding the incoming claws.

Izzo turned and roared. "You’re quick, but I’ve got more."

He stomped the ground.

"[Infernal Bloom]!"

Flame spikes shot out in all directions.

Volt leaped up just in time, barely avoiding getting impaled.

But one spike grazed her leg. She hissed and landed hard.

Izzo laughed.

"You can’t stop this, Volt Stride."

"Maybe not alone," a voice called out.

A fireball struck Izzo’s shoulder.

He turned and growled.

Ember Striker appeared, walking through smoke with flames building in his fists.

"Let’s burn the traitor."

Sightpiercer followed, his scope glowing brighter.

"I’ve locked his weak zones."

Volt grinned.

"Took you long enough."

Izzo snarled.

"Three of you now? Fine. Let’s see what three flames can do against the godfire."

He slammed both fists together. Flames burst into a massive swirl around him.

"[Godflame Surge]!"

The fire expanded like a dome, pushing them back.

Ember Striker raised his hand.

"[Blazing Counter: Nova Hands]!"

Flames clashed with flames. The area shook.

Sightpiercer didn’t flinch.

He raised one hand.

"[Zero Mark: Precision Dive]."

Three bright dots appeared on Izzo’s body.

One on his knee. One on his chest. One on the side of his neck.

"All weak points. Hit hard."

Volt nodded.

"Cover me."

She dashed through the flames.

"[Volt Dash: Split Arc]!"

She blurred through Izzo and struck his chest point.

He roared and staggered back.

Ember slammed into his side with a blazing punch.

Izzo swung wildly.

Sightpiercer fired a glowing shot straight into his knee.

The shot exploded on contact, dropping Izzo to one side.

The flames around him flickered.

He coughed blood and glared.

"You think this is over?! I’ll burn this whole place down!"

His body pulsed. The serum was still active.

He tried to get up.

Volt’s eyes narrowed.

"We hit him together."

They moved at once.

Volt to the front. Ember from the side. Sightpiercer from above.

Izzo screamed.

"[Combustion Rebirth]—!"

But before the skill could finish, three attacks hit him at once.

A crack ran across his armor.

The fire started to die.

He dropped to one knee.

Volt stood in front of him.

"You’re done."

Izzo only laughed hard.

"Ha... haha... do you really think this is over?"

Flames still flickered around his shoulders, weaker now, but stubborn.

Volt narrowed her eyes.

"You can barely stand."

Izzo coughed, blood slipping from his mouth.

"You think you’ve won just because I’m down?"

"This body was just the first gift... the real fire’s still waiting."

Ember Striker stepped forward.

"What the hell are you talking about?"

Izzo’s eyes glowed faint red.
