Chapter 32: Chapter 32: A New Turning Point

When she ended the stream, Jiang Qiuqiu’s exhaustion was almost palpable.

She let out a long sigh. After eating two bowls of rice noodle rolls, she finally felt like she’d regained some of her strength.

Just as she was about to close her terminal, a red, flagged message from an administrator popped up in her back-end system.

Administrator 02: You there?

Jiang Qiuqiu: ?

When Jiang Qiuqiu saw the word "administrator," she felt a pang of guilt. ’No way,’ she thought. ’Is the monitoring system really this thorough? I’m just one small streamer in a sea of millions. I casually mention switching platforms, and an admin just pops up?’

She decided to pretend she was offline and not answer.

But this administrator was clearly persistent.

Administrator 02: Your back-end shows you’re online. Why aren’t you responding?

Administrator 02: I’m an administrator with the Federation Star Network’s streaming company. I watched your recent stream and wanted to get a better understanding of the situation.

This self-proclaimed administrator’s tone was surprisingly calm. It didn’t seem like he was here to chew her out.

Jiang Qiuqiu replied.

Jiang Qiuqiu: What would you like to know?

The moment Qian Xingxing received her reply, he got excited. ’Why would you give up on the Federation’s streaming platform to choose some unknown one instead?’

Administrator 02: From the sound of it, it seems like something unfair happened?

’This wording, this tone...’

’It’s strangely childish. Not the impression a seasoned administrator should give.’

’Who is on the other end of the terminal?’

Jiang Qiuqiu: Are you a high-level executive at the Federal Company? If so, we can continue this conversation. If not, let’s just drop it.

Administrator 02: This is related to the higher-ups!?

Administrator 02: You can tell me everything. I can take responsibility for this.

’It seems he’s someone with real power, or at least some authority.’

Jiang Qiuqiu told the young Administrator 02 how she and Meimei had negotiated a contract, only to be rejected for supposedly not meeting the contract’s conditions.

Administrator 02: How could you possibly not meet the requirements?

’Is that manager blind?’

Jiang Qiuqiu: I’m very confident in my abilities, but I have no way of knowing your company’s evaluation criteria. All I know is that your company told me to leave.

Jiang Qiuqiu: That’s the gist of what happened. You’ll probably have to investigate for more specific details yourself.

Qian Xingxing had always known that his family’s company had been at the top for so long that people at every level had grown complacent. But he never imagined there would be such a parasite in a key department, someone who would tell such barefaced lies.

Administrator 02: The company will have someone verify these matters. Thank you for your cooperation in my investigation.

Jiang Qiuqiu: It was no trouble.

Jiang Qiuqiu: If that’s everything, I’m logging off.

Administrator 02: Wait!

Administrator 02: I’ll handle this. In the meantime, can you hold off on switching platforms? You’re an excellent streamer, and I promise I’ll give you a satisfactory resolution to this matter.

’This person is surprisingly easy to talk to. So easy that he doesn’t sound like a businessman at all.’

Jiang Qiuqiu replied with an "okay," then logged off the Star Network and contacted Meimei through her terminal.

She asked Meimei if the Federal Company had a high-level executive who was a bit naive, spoke rather innocently, had a good temper, and came from a prominent family.

Meimei: Are you talking about our Little President Qian? 𝒻𝑟𝘦𝘦𝘸ℯ𝒷𝑛𝘰𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝘤𝘰𝘮

Jiang Qiuqiu: Little President Qian?

Meimei: The big boss’s son.

Jiang Qiuqiu: It’s nothing, just asking.

’So, it was him?’

Meimei: I saw your stream today. Are you planning on switching platforms?

Meimei felt it was a real shame that a streamer as talented as Jiang Qiuqiu had to face such a setback. She had already asked around her industry contacts about a few platforms with decent reputations, hoping to give Jiang Qiuqiu some options.

But the person on the other end suddenly sent a message—

Jiang Qiuqiu: I might not be switching platforms after all. It seems like things are about to take a new turn.

Meimei: ?? What kind of turn?
