HELP! These Girls Wants To Kill Me-Chapter 224
"You are joking, right?" Yang Ze couldn’t help but ask in a trembling voice. The impact of those words upon him was fatal. He had already lost the only person he ever loved in his life. Now that someone was telling him that there was a way to bring her back... how could Yang Ze not be tempted? In that instant, his heart was shaken as he grabbed the old man by his shoulders before shaking him violently.
"HOW?"
"How do you do it?"
But the only thing that replied to him was the wild laughter of the old man.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA"
With every passing moment, Yang Ze was getting more and more impatient. Till now, he had always consoled himself by saying that he would try to find a way to revive Cang Yue. Even though he constantly uttered it to himself, he wasn’t so sure in his heart. Even with his cheat, stepping at the peak of Vein Expansion was such a monstrous task for him, not to mention the realms after it. Even if he managed to reach the so-called saint realm, Yang Ze wasn’t sure if he could even revive Cang Yue. But now that there was a way... how could he control himself?
With every passing moment, his impatience only grew. He even took out the knife, wanting to chop off one more finger of the old man, but the other party just laughed even more wildly after seeing the knife in his hand, as if he were mocking him.
Finally, after a while, Yang Ze managed to control himself as he took a deep breath and gazed deeply at the old man in front of him.
"What do you want?" Since torture wasn’t going to work anymore, Yang Ze could only compromise.
Hearing Yagn Ze’s words, the old man’s laughter finally stopped as he looked at the young boy from top to bottom. But he didn’t give an immediate reply, as if teasing Yang Ze purposefully.
And just when Yang Ze was about to burst out in anger, he finally spoke.
"There are a lot of things that you could help me with."
"But first..." He turned his head to his right side, "How about freeing me from this situation?"
"...." Yang Ze gazed deeply at the old man in front of him as he thought for a while before shaking his head.
"No."
"Oh!?" His answer stunned the old man. Judging by the brat’s outburst, he was sure that he had lost someone dear to him and wanted to revive them. In that instant, he knew that the ball was in his court. He had the upper hand, and if he wanted to, he could make the boy do anything.
But to his surprise, his very first request was met with denial.
"Ahhh... I see." A look of realisation suddenly hit him as he nodded towards Yang Ze. "You don’t believe me."
"....." Yang Ze didn’t answer, but his expression was enough to tell the old man everything he needed to know.
"In that case, how about I give you the proof?" With a laugh, he took a deep breath before looking in the direction of the village.
"If you were to go now into the sacred cave, you would find a black book."
"Read it and then decide for yourself."
The moment he spoke, Yang Ze’s figure flashed as he walked towards the nearest trees and broke them into pieces with a single punch. He then repeated the process with a few more trees and then collected all the broken dry wood before piling it around the old man.
After doing that, Yang Ze patted his hands in satisfaction before speaking in an incomparable cold voice.
"If this is one of your tricks and you are telling a lie, then I will burn you alive."
Yang Ze could tolerate everything... everything, unless it was about his loved ones, especially Cang Yue.
If this old bastard dared to lie to him just to throw him into the cave... Yang Ze would make sure to give him the most miserable death possible. Cang Yue was his reverse scale, and anyone who dared to play him using her name would have only one outcome...
Death.
"...."
"....."
The old man simply shrugged in response, not bothering to pay attention to what Yang Ze just said.
After taking one last look at the old man, Yang Ze simply turned around and left the place, leaving behind the figure of the old man who was now back to gritting his teeth due to the pain of his severed fingers.
—---------------------
With his speed, it took Yang Ze less than two minutes to reach his destination.
Looking at the cave in front of him with a solemn expression, he took a deep breath. Although the black fog covering the cave was much thinner than before, he didn’t relax in the slightest. On the contrary, he snapped his fingers as his clone appeared beside him. Controlling the clone, Yang Ze rushed into the cave without any hesitation.
*Zzzzz
The moment he passed through the thin layer of the black fog, a sound of sizzling filled the air. Ignoring the sensation the clone was feeling, Yang Ze simply rushed in at full speed.
Every step that he took was full of resistance. It was as if the air itself had been solidified in front of him.
It took a great deal of effort for the clone to finally get in, and the moment his clone fully entered the cave, Yang Ze’s eyes narrowed into slits.
The cave wasn’t big; it was roughly the size of the house he was staying in.
There was a bed, a few sets of old, crude clothes, and a small table upon which a thick black book was placed. But what attracted Yang Ze’s attention was not the book, but an entrance leading further into the cave that was filled with dense black fog. Yang Ze thought about going there, but the moment his clone came in contact with the black fog, it began to dissipate.
"Not good." Yang Ze wanted to step back, but alas, it was already too late.
In less than a few breaths, his clone that merely touched the black fog with his hand turned into nothingness.
"Fuck."
Outside the cave, Yang Ze couldn’t help but curse in a low voice. Gritting his teeth, he summoned another clone and sent it in; this time, he had learned his lesson. He didn’t dare to go anywhere near the entrance of the path leading further in. Instead, he chose to stay far away from that damned thing.
After entering the cave, he ignored everything and rushed directly towards the book, picked it up and rushed out of the cave as fast as he could.
It wasn’t until the clone was out of the cave that Yang Ze let out a sigh of relief.
Holding the book in his hand, he felt the black fog leeching on his right hand become a bit restless. It took him a lot of internal energy to slow down its spread as he walked away from there.
After getting the book, Yang Ze didn’t rush directly to the place where he had tied up the old man, nor did he rush to the house where the girls were staying. Instead, he picked up a different direction and stopped after making sure he was far away from the village and no one was in his vicinity. It was only then that he manifested a comfortable sofa, sat upon it and took out the black book.
The book was soft to the touch and felt almost slippery. It took him a while to realise what it was made up of, and once realisation hit him, he almost dropped it to the ground.
"Human skin?" Yang Ze’s breathing almost stopped as he looked at the book in his hand with a grave expression.
His instincts were telling him not to open the book and simply tear it apart, but the allure of reviving Cang Yue far outweighed the potential dangers of the book.
Making up his mind, Yang Ze opened the book without any hesitation, and the first thing he saw was a row of text written entirely in blood.
[Ode To Death]
"...." Yang Ze used his all-seeing eyes to take a look at the book, hoping to uncover something more, but the only thing he saw was a simple row of text.
[Heresy]
There was no description, no mention of the name or what it contained... just a single word.
Yang Ze even tried to use his system to take a look, but his system only displayed the personal panels and nothing else.
Helplessly, he could only focus back on the book in his hand as he began to read it.
[Those who walk this path are shunned by the world itself.]
After reading the first sentence of the book, Yang Ze kept on reading it, and the more he read it, the deeper his frown got. The very first thing he saw was a technique detailing how to worship the so-called god.
One needed to first practise the art of blood by sacrificing a pair of young human children’s blood. The flesh and bone will be the offering to the good, whereas the blood will be the reward for the priest.
And drinking that blood would grant one the power of god.
"The black fog." The term inexplicable appeared in his head as he read further. The book then detailed how one needs to keep on sacrificing people to increase the power and unlock even more abilities. It even described how to effectively make sacrifices. And the more Yang Ze read it, the more he felt his scalp tingle. Even in his two lives, he had never seen something so sinister and evil... and that is saying a lot, especially after what he had seen back at home on Earth.
It took him a while to read the first half of the book, which contained descriptions only. After he reached the last page, he finally found what he had been looking for.
[After one masters the power of god, one could even revive the dead.]
Reading this single sentence was enough to make Yang Ze’s breathing hasten as he tightened his grip on the book. He wasn’t worried if he could master the so-called power of god or not. With his heaven-defying talent, Enlightenment, it is just a matter of time. The only thing he was worried about was whether the things written in this book were actually true or not.
Without wasting another second, he hurriedly turned the page, but there was nothing.
"...."
"...." 𝑓𝘳𝘦𝑒𝑤𝑒𝘣𝘯ℴ𝘷𝘦𝓁.𝑐𝑜𝑚
"Huuuuh!?" It took a moment for Yang Ze to register what he was seeing. Sliding his fingers across the remains of the dense, torn pages, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth in anger.
"That old bastard."
How could he not understand that the old man had purposefully torn the pages? That old bastard left only the descriptions and tore the pages containing the techniques.
The more Yang Ze looked at the torn pages, the angrier he got.
Suppressing his urge to rush back to the old man, he first took a deep breath to calm himself before rushing towards the house to take a look at the group of girls.
Before he even reached the house, he could hear the clamouring inside. The girls seemed to be in a heated discussion as they were trying their best to tend to Yan-er’s injuries.
Without any hesitation, Yang Ze directly entered the house, and the first thing that greeted his sight was a small, petite figure lying unconscious on a large, comfy bed.
At the moment, the four girls of the group were tending to her injuries.
Just beside the bed was a bucket of black water with a cloth in it. From time to time, the girls would dip the cloth in water and then use it to clean Yan-er’s body.
Yang Ze’s arrival immediately caused Qing Cao to rush towards him with tears in her eyes as she tightly grasped his hand, wanting him to take action.
Unfortunately for her, Yang Ze was no doctor. He only knew the basics, so after checking Yan-er’s pulse and the numerous bruises and scratches on her body, he could only pat Qing Cao’s head gently.
"She is fine. She will wake up after a few hours at most."
Yang Ze’s words were enough to make the girls visibly relaxed as they finally breathed in relief.
Yan-er was not only their leader, but also their emotional support. To them, she was more like their elder sister.
They didn’t dare to imagine what they would do without her.
Qing Cao didn’t say a word, and simply held Yang Ze’s hand tightly without saying a word.
"Don’t be afraid. Everything’s going to be fine."
Gently rubbing her head, Yang Ze freed himself from her tight grip before heading out of the house and directly rushing in the direction of the old man.
"Well, you took your sweet time." The moment Yang Ze appeared in front of the old man, the latter immediately let out a laugh.
"Where is it?" Yang Ze spoke in a chilling voice as he gazed deeply at the old man in front of him.
"The techniques....."
