Chapter 315: Exploring the Private Quarters

However, Damien decided to hold firm, thinking that this was a crucial moment, and continued to support Augusto.

"Ah, um... big brother, I’m fine now..."

After a while, Augusto, who had been quietly held by Damien, spoke up and pulled away.

His heart was still racing, but Damien wondered if he was truly okay.

Augusto’s face had regained some color, although it had been pale before.

Yor seemed satisfied and nodded his head in approval.

Augusto was still blushing and seemed embarrassed, but Damien felt that everything had calmed down.

When Yor had joined the conversation earlier, Damien wasn’t sure how things would turn out, but in the end, it had worked out.

Damien figured he should probably thank Yor for his help.

"Well then, shall we go take a look at the private area?"

Theo’s cheerful voice snapped Damien back to reality.

What had he just been doing in front of everyone?

As the memories of his earlier actions flooded back, a wave of embarrassment washed over him.

Everyone had moved behind him, leaving him focused solely on comforting Augusto.

Now, it seemed Augusto had also realized the presence of the others, and a faint blush colored his face as he looked embarrassed.

Well, he had only been comforting a frightened Augusto, so there was no real problem with it.

At least, that’s what Damien told himself.

"Shall we... go take a look at the private area?"

"I already suggested that just now," Theo pointed out with a small smile.

Oh.

Damien mentally scolded himself to calm down.

He stopped trying to deflect his embarrassment and took a deep breath to compose himself.

"Please do the same for us later," Theo added teasingly.

"Wh—?! Cough, cough, cough!"

Damien choked at the unexpected comment.

He was trying to calm himself down—adding fuel to the fire certainly wasn’t helping!

For now, Damien led everyone who hadn’t been present earlier to the office and gave a brief explanation about Delyric.

He decided against summoning Delyric for now, as it might cause another commotion when asking him to rest again.

Damien resolved to properly introduce him once the room assignments were finalized.

Leaving the office, Damien walked down the corridor, flanked by Tis’a and Ithnan, who clung to both of his arms.

It wasn’t surprising that tiny Tis’a had wrapped himself around Damien’s arm, but even Ithnan had joined in, which caught him off guard.

Perhaps seeing Damien comfort Augusto had stirred up a longing to be spoiled as well.

Ithnan, with his proud demeanor, was now shyly holding onto Damien’s sleeve, creating a cute contrast with his otherwise dignified appearance.

Everyone seemed to be smiling fondly at the scene, but Damien noticed that Ithnan himself appeared too preoccupied with staying close to him to realize it.

The younger boys, on the other hand, were watching with a "Good grief" expression, though they also seemed unaware of the attention directed their way.

"Elyon, what’s the room next door?"

Since he couldn’t spend all day marveling at Ithnan’s adorableness, Damien decided to steer the conversation in a more serious direction.

Based on the layout of Theo’s estate, the room beyond the office would normally be a bedroom.

However, in Damien’s mansion, there were two rooms past the office.

What could they be?

"The room next door is the bedroom," Elyon replied.

Hmm, so the room adjacent to the office was just a standard bedroom.

But then, what about the room at the far end?

"Now, this room here will be your private quarters," Elyon said, opening the door.

Inside was a room that seemed to replicate the bedroom Damien had used at Theoi’s estate but on a smaller scale.

The luxurious canopy bed was still there, but it had been scaled down to a double bed.

It was more than enough for one person and could accommodate two people without issue, although anything beyond that would likely be need to squeeze.

What?

Sharing a bed with more than two people seems unlikely, you say?

...Damien couldn’t entirely rule it out, knowing his circumstances.

There were also storage options like a closet and shelves, along with a table set, making the room fully functional for living.

Every piece of furniture bore intricate carvings of plants, showcasing the craftsmanship and dedication of the elder who had worked on them. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

Damien made a mental note to properly thank them someday.

However, as his eyes wandered to the door leading to the bedroom, he noticed the vines that was carved into it as well.

"Elyon, is there a security mechanism here too?"

"Yes, there is. For now, it shares the same mechanism as the private area’s entrance. It can be adjusted later if needed, but for now, you don’t need to worry about it," Elyon explained.

Since it was a bedroom, Damien supposed it made sense to have security measures.

He briefly wondered why the two entrances shared the same mechanism but figured it might be to accommodate tasks like cleaning and making the bed.

For now, since there didn’t seem to be any issues, everyone entered the room together.

Unsurprisingly, with over ten people stepping inside, the space felt a bit cramped.

The bedroom had one more door inside, which led to a bathroom and toilet.

So, there were only two doors in the bedroom: one for the entrance and one for the bathroom.

"Wait, is there no lounge or common room here?"

Damien was surprised.

The lounge had been convenient for meals, meetings, and general gatherings.

On top of that, there didn’t seem to be any servant quarters or kitchen spaces either.

"Those were consolidated into a single room designated as the guest quarters previously," Elyon explained. "But traditionally, lounges, servant quarters, and kitchens are separate rooms. The kitchen, in particular, is likely on the first floor."

Now that Damien thought about it, even Theo’s bedroom had been just a simple sleeping space.

"Maybe the rooms we skipped over include the lounge and servant quarters?" suggested Theo. "Right, Teacher?"
