Help! I unknowingly enrolled myself into a supernatural Academy-Chapter 67: Maggot food
Aiden’s eyes widened in sheer shock as Zane’s lips pressed against his. For a split second, his body froze, overwhelmed by the unexpected intrusion. His heart pounded in his chest, not with joy or thrill, but with disbelief and anger. When the initial shock finally ebbed, fury surged through him like fire. Without hesitation, he bit down on Zane’s lips with all his strength, tasting the metallic tang of blood. At the same time, he lifted his leg and delivered a swift, ruthless kick directly between Zane’s legs.
A choked groan tore from Zane’s throat as he doubled over, collapsing onto the ground while clutching his manhood in both hands. Pain contorted his face, and through gritted teeth he forced out, "Are you trying to break it?"
Aiden glared down at him, his chest heaving with anger. His voice dripped with venom as he snapped, "What do I care if it breaks or not? How dare you kiss me! Are you completely out of your mind?"
Still hunched over, Zane winced yet tried to speak through the pain. "It was just a kiss. Don’t you think you’re overreacting a little?"
Those words snapped something inside Aiden. His anger shifted into anguish, his throat tightening as hot tears welled in his eyes. His voice cracked as he shouted, "Just a kiss? That was my first kiss! Ryker hasn’t even kissed me yet, and you just came out of nowhere and stole it. Who do you think you are?"
The mention of Ryker’s name immediately twisted Zane’s pained expression into something darker. Jealousy flared hot in his chest, and anger hardened his gaze. "Can you stop mentioning Ryker every second?" he snarled. "So you wanted Ryker to be your first kiss? What a pity. Too bad he cannot be, because you already gave that to me." A bitter laugh escaped him, harsh and sharp despite his pain. "Ah, what a pity indeed."
Aiden’s tears fell faster, streaking down his flushed cheeks. Seeing Zane’s smug, mocking laughter only stoked his rage. He could not bear the sight of that arrogant face twisting his pain into amusement. With fury surging through him, Aiden lifted his foot once again and delivered another sharp kick, this time directly to Zane’s handsome, almost delicate face.
Zane had not expected the blow. His head snapped to the side, and he groaned in pain as he clutched his cheek. For a moment, his eyes squeezed shut, his expression taut with agony. When he opened them again, he prepared to confront Aiden for daring to strike the part of himself he treasured most. But as his gaze darted forward, he realized Aiden was no longer standing before him.
Instead, Aiden’s figure was already retreating. Zane’s eyes fixed on Aiden’s slender back, framed by the soft fall of his hair as he stormed away. Zane’s grimace slowly melted into a twisted smile. His heart thudded not with humiliation, but with obsession. His lips curled upward as he muttered to himself, "Even his back looks so pretty."
He licked his lips lightly, recalling the brief taste that still lingered. "And his lips... so soft, so delicious."
Watching Aiden’s fading figure, Zane’s eyes gleamed with determination. "Oh, Aiden," he whispered, almost reverently. "You are going to be mine at last. At first, I only wanted to play with you, to take you from Ryker just to break him. I thought I would toss you aside when I grew tired. But the more I spend time with you, the more I find myself captivated. You cannot escape me. I will not allow it. I will not let go of you in this lifetime."
His smile deepened, edged with possessive hunger. "Aiden, you will belong to me. Your body, your heart, your soul—everything will be mine."
Slowly, Zane pushed himself upright, brushing off the dirt from his clothes. The ache in his body dulled, replaced by a sharp, obsessive focus. For a moment, he contemplated running after Aiden, chasing him down and demanding more. But he eventually decided against it. Tonight, they were all supposed to meet at the abandoned building for punishment. He would see Aiden again soon enough. There was no need to rush. With a final smirk, Zane turned in the opposite direction from where Aiden had gone and left.
Meanwhile, Aiden stormed angrily toward his dormitory, fury and heartbreak simmering within him. His pace was brisk, each step heavy with pent-up emotion. His fists clenched tightly at his sides, nails biting into his palms. When he finally arrived at his building, he forced himself to offer a brief, distracted greeting to those sitting in the lobby. Without waiting for replies, he stalked straight toward the elevator, jabbing the button with unnecessary force.
The ride up felt endless. His reflection in the polished elevator walls only reminded him of his tear-stained face and red-rimmed eyes. The doors finally opened, and he marched down the hall, his shoes echoing sharply against the floor. Reaching his shared apartment, he unlocked the door and stepped inside, greeted by an unnatural stillness. It was quiet, too quiet. A glance around confirmed what he already suspected: Julian was not back from his classes yet.
Aiden sighed heavily, slipping his shoes off before trudging into his room. On the bed, sprawled lazily across the sheets, was Rainbow. The small bird lifted its head as soon as Aiden entered, its feathers ruffling as though sensing the shift in his mood.
Rainbow’s voice rang in Aiden’s mind through their bond, cheerful at first. "So, how was the meeti—" The words cut short abruptly when Rainbow noticed the wet tracks of tears still running down Aiden’s face. The bird’s bright eyes narrowed in concern. "Why are you crying? Was the meeting that bad? Did they say they want to expel you? That can’t be right. Even if they threatened to expel you, that alone shouldn’t reduce you to tears like this."
Aiden ignored the questions. His chest tightened with too much anger, too much humiliation to speak. Without sparing Rainbow another glance, he strode straight into the bathroom. He snatched up his toothbrush, squeezed toothpaste onto it, and began scrubbing his teeth furiously, as if he could erase the lingering sensation of Zane’s lips.
His motions were harsh, punishing. The bristles tore at his gums until they ached, blood mingling faintly with the foam. His lips burned under the relentless scrubbing, but Aiden pressed harder, desperate to rid himself of the memory.
Rainbow had flown after him, perching on the edge of the sink. Its eyes widened in alarm as it watched Aiden’s frantic movements. "Why are you brushing like that? You’ll hurt yourself!" Rainbow’s voice filled his mind, thick with worry. "What happened? Did the disciplinary committee force you to eat food with maggots or something? Is that why you’re angry? But even if that were true, the food would already be in your stomach. Scrubbing your lips and teeth raw won’t change that. You’ll only wound yourself, and you’ll still remember the taste."
Aiden froze for a moment, the absurdity of Rainbow’s words catching him off guard. He stared blankly at the bird, speechless. Out of all the conclusions, how did Rainbow arrive at maggots?
But as soon as the image formed in his mind, his stomach lurched violently. He imagined himself chewing into a mouthful of writhing maggots, their slimy bodies bursting on his tongue. His gag reflex triggered instantly. Dropping his toothbrush, Aiden staggered to the toilet and bent over, retching until his stomach emptied.
Rainbow, convinced his guess had been correct, flapped his wings in distress and hovered over Aiden’s head. "So it really was food with maggots? Oh, Aiden, eating something like that isn’t the end of the world. You’ll be fine. Please, stop vomiting already."
Aiden could barely hear him over the sound of his own heaving. His throat burned, his stomach twisted painfully, and frustration clawed at his chest. He felt cursed, as if the universe had conspired to make this day his personal torment. First Mr Nikolai, then Zane, now Rainbow’s nonsense—it was too much.
Finally, after rinsing his mouth with water, Aiden spat and sagged against the sink. His reflection in the mirror looked pitiful, eyes swollen and face pale. Rainbow, perched nearby, continued to mutter about maggots.
Aiden’s patience snapped. "Can you stop talking already?" he snapped aloud, glaring at the bird. "When did I ever tell you that I ate food with maggots? You’re the one that ate maggot food. All your ancestors must have eaten nothing but maggots!"
Rainbow recoiled, feathers puffing indignantly. "Ew! How could I ever eat maggot food? What nonsense are you saying, Aiden?"
Aiden stared at him, dumbfounded. "But birds eat maggots. Isn’t that normal?"
Rainbow shook his head vigorously, his mental voice sharp with disgust. "Since I was a baby until now, I have never once eaten maggots. I don’t know what my ancestors ate, but I have never touched such things. I’ve always eaten proper cooked food. Why would I suddenly choose maggots? That’s disgusting."
Aiden blinked, realization dawning. So that was it. Rainbow’s previous master must have pampered him so much that he never experienced true hardship. Curious despite his irritation, Aiden asked, "Then when you woke up from your coma seventeen years ago, how did you survive if you’re this picky?"
Rainbow straightened proudly. "Of course it was easy. I went into the forest and looked for fruits. Sometimes I stole food from students here without them realizing. But I never touched the wolves’ meals. They are too fast, and their sense of smell is sharp. They would have caught me instantly. Besides, those wolves are barbaric when it comes to their food. They guard it like treasures. Can you imagine? Wolves truly are savages through and through."
