Help! Five Beast Alphas Want To Breed Me!!(BL)-Chapter 318: Nature’s Dance
Calisí;
"Do you know what that is?" Father’s voice bleeds into my mind, and I find my heart greedily reaching for it.
"No," I remember replying honestly, and he held his finger to his lips.
"Shh. Listen. It’s nature’s song." He replies, and I remember tilting my head as I stared at him.
"Nature’s song?"
"Yes. Nature is never quiet. She’s always singing. It’s the purest gift. Hidden in plain sight." He replies, with that spark in his eyes— the one his eyes always held each time he taught me one of his life secrets.
"So, my Princess. Whenever your mind gets too cloudy or loud... just listen. And dance."
His voice fades with the memory, and I open my eyes, staring up at the moon far above.
I let out a breath as my bare feet press harder into the grass beneath me.
My vision blurs as I remember late nights when Father would dance with Mother, and I would dance with my brother... then Father would dance with me, telling me how he’d dance his shoes off at my wedding.
He may never see my wedding. But every time I close my eyes, every time I listen to nature sing, and I dance to her song... I feel him.
I lift my arms and let every muscle in my body relax as I give in. —Give in to the gentleness required to appreciate nature’s beauty.
I twirl softly on my toes, and a gentle wave of grounding floods me.
I let out a breath as my body begins to move. The first movement is my bare feet sweeping over the soft, dew-soaked grass, and a feeling of familiarity embraces me.
This isn’t thought. It’s... instinct.
Tingles run up my spine as I let her take over. As I let the little girl who adored and connected with everything pure... take over.
She is who I need now. The child the world tried to kill. The child I was forced to bury alive so I could survive.
I feel her innocence and pain flood through me. She isn’t vengeful... just grateful.
Tears flood down my face as I feel her presence strongly.
A presence that brings with it memories of the life I once had. A life I can never get again.
My arm travels over my head... fingers opening delicately to the sky like a soft flower blossoming romantic promises to the moon.
My head rolls as my shoulders move like I’m made of nothing but fluids.
Each step follows the other effortlessly, as I hold up my dress to let my bare feet move freely.
The bow of my head... The dip of my spine... the motion of my waist... it all feels... sacred.
The silence around me morphs into a cacophony of the purest music I’ve ever heard.
The sound of a nearby stream trickling peacefully, the wind wafting effortlessly through my hair... The gentle thump of my feet over the bed of grass beneath me.... The rhythm of my breaths and the beat of my heart.
A smile splits my face as I begin to feel strength flowing through me.
The kind of strength that comes from weakness.
My breath shudders, and my lips quiver as I remember my Mother’s laughter. Father’s gentle eyes... and my brother’s stubbornness— the stubbornness he always used to hide the fact that he would do anything for me.
My heart cracks with an ache I am unable to carry, so I just stop. And cry...
"May I join you?" His voice breaks through the storm, and I freeze.
I look up and find Avaren.
There’s a white strip of cloth tied over his eyes, the way he usually does, so his eyes doesn’t scare the children.
His healthy hair flows down his shoulders, and he’s dressed in an easy black robe.
I wipe my tears off with the back of my hands as a scoff escapes me.
"You?" I chuckle, and he steps closer.
"You hate dancing." I remind him as he closes the gap between us, and he smiles.
He reaches out and gently takes my hand in his.
"I hate many things," His deeply soothing voice says calmly.
"But for you, I am willing to endure all of them." He adds, and I feel warmth flood my heart at the words.
"I mean it when I say I love, Calisi. You know that... right?" He whispers as he pulls me to himself, and fresh tears flood my eyes.
"You mean more to me than the blood in my veins. You’re the moon in my perpetually dark world." He adds as the back of his fingers gently brushes my cheek, and I lean into his touch.
"Oh, Avaren..." I whisper with a small chuckle, and he grins.
My hand slides into his, fingers warm and sure, grounding me as always.
I feel him adjust the rhythm around us instinctively.
I taught him once. Just once to listen to nature’s music, and since then, I’ve never had to correct or adjust anything.
Many times, I’m beyond certain he hears nature’s songs better than I do. Another gift I am grateful I can enjoy with him.
He places one hand at my waist, and my smile returns. Avaren does not need sight to know exactly where it is.
My body has always been a familiar map to him.
My other hand rests in his, as his closes his fingers around it. It’s such a small gesture... but still so protective.
"Guide me," He whispers, and I stare at him.
At the handsome young man who has had my heart since he was a little boy.
We move together, slow at first... A careful waltz shaped by serenity and trust.
His steps are confident, practised, and my heart appreciates the way his body aligns effortlessly with mine.
I listen to him breathe and feel the way his grip subtly tightens around my waist.
My mana unfolds quietly as we move.
My mana brushes his, tentative at first, then more boldly, wrapping around him like a ribbon.
A reaction his magic equally mimics.
I can’t help the small laugh that escapes me as we dance to what others may think is silence.
The dullness in my heart fades, replaced by something gentler. Not joy... but presence.
"I wish... that I could see you." He breaks the silence quietly, as we turn, and I stiffen for a heartbeat.
"I know you are more beautiful now than you were when I last saw your face, "He adds, and my heart stops this time.
"Time has shaped you. Pain has sharpened you. You have always been beautiful to me, but I know it has only grown." He whispers further, and my steps falter.
He keeps swaying with me in his arms, but I stop us gently.
My heart aches as I stare at him. My hands move to the cloth over his eyes, and the weight of the sacrifice he made so he could save me strikes me.
"You can see me," she says softly, and he raises a brow.
"Calisí—" He begins, but I interrupt him, lifting his hand.
"You can," I repeat as I guide his fingers up to my face, and he pauses.
His fingertips touch my skin, and I take a deep breath to steady myself.
I pull my hand away to let him see me, and his finger moves slowly... a bit unsure.
He traces the curve of my cheek first, slow and gentle. His fingers are tender against my skin.
"Your face..." He whispers with his chin slightly raised in focus, and I hold my breath.
"It is thinner here." He says as he brushes along my jaw.
"Time has kissed you hard." He adds, and I laugh quietly through my breath.
His fingers move upward, finding my brow... her eyes...
"Your eyes," he whispers, thumbs hovering before lightly tracing their shape.
"Wide. Slanted just so. Like a hunting hound’s. Always alert. Always watching." He says, and I smile faintly.
His hands find my nose, which comes next. He follows its bridge down carefully and gently flicks it, causing me to laugh.
"Straight, and proud. You never lost this," He says, and my smile grows.
"Even when you lost everything else." He adds, and my breath catches.
Then my lips. He pauses when he touches them, and I raise a brow.
"They’re softer," He says slowly, with fingertips brushing the curve of them.
"Still shaped for defiance. But softer." He adds, and I feel myself tremble under his hands and words.
"You see me," I whisper, and he smiles.
"Yes," He answers simply.
"I always have."
Without warning, I pull him into my arms... pressing my forehead to his chest, and holding him because the world might drown me without him anchoring me.
"I love you," I tell him quietly, with my voice steady despite the ache swelling in my chest.
"More than this life. More than the next." I add, and his arms tighten around me.
"I love you too, my pearl." He replies.
I know he may not understand why I’ve suddenly changed. He may not understand the reason I suddenly don’t want to hurt Elian, even though it was my idea. I may not fully understand it, either, but I know one thing.
"Avaren... I swear to you... I am not weak." I whisper, and I feel him go rigid for a second.
"I have not forgotten either. Your loss... My loss... our loss. I will fight for what we lost. For what was taken from us." I add, pulling back just enough to press my lips to his temple.
"I’m only trying not to break a boy who has the joy and innocence we once did. I’m still fighting. We’ll get justice. Our people will stop living as fugitives, we will make a dignified place for magic in the world..." I add with tears flooding my eyes now, andhe tilts his head lightly as he smiles.
"I promise you that," I vow, and he nods, resting my forehead against mine.
"Whatever you choose, my love... You have my full support."
