Help! Five Beast Alphas Want To Breed Me!!(BL)-Chapter 245: BeastHeaven Will Burn
Song For This Chapter: The Wolf Song by Jonna Jinton (Please try to listen to the song. It helped me connect to this Chapter... to both of them.)
Avaren;
"Dreams get people killed." She replies, and I hear her nails lightly pick at the bed sheets, a nervous habit she’s had since she was little.
Her mana trembles around her, uneven and tense.
"My father..." she whispers, and I silence my thoughts to listen carefully. I always listen carefully.
I can’t see her, but I can feel every emotion rolling off her mana... grief, rage, longing, ache.
"My father wanted peace so desperately," she continues.
"He wanted warlocks and beastmen to live together. To stop treating each other like predators and prey." Her voice cracks, barely as she continues.
"He believed so strongly that unity was possible, and he made me think so..." She adds, and I exhale before gently patting her back.
"It was a noble dream," I whisper, and she pulls away from me.
"It was a stupid dream," she hisses.
"A dream that cost him his life." She spits, and rage ripples through her mana like a storm.
"They killed him for it," she whispers.
"Beastmen. The same creatures he defended. The same ones he believed could stand beside us." She adds, just as a hollow laugh escapes her.
"He died because he tried to build a world that didn’t want to exist." She adds, and hearing the tremor in her voice, I fall silent.
Not because I disagree... but because I remember the night she lost him.
The night she lost everything.
I remember her screams. I remember the blood.
The horrible things they made her brother do to her before killing her entire family in front of her.
I remember how she wailed over her mother... her father... and her brother... How she wailed over the virginity she lost to those bastards.
How she screamed when they beat me so close to death for trying to save her as they dragged her away.
I also remember the day I walked into the brothel she had been sold to.
The smell of sweat, cum, blood and piss.
I remember her trembling hands... Her broken voice repeating my name as if she wasn’t sure I was real.
To free her, I had to strengthen my magic. Harnesses with darkness so strong it would forever eat me from within.
A... "warlock’s price."
Warlock sacrifices are never small.
The memory burns through me. The darkness of that cave. The witch’s black, distant eyes... The cold metal bowl... the incantation... the blood pouring down my face.
The world going dark forever in exchange for the power I needed to save her.
And then, there was the silence that followed.
The absolute silence of a sight forever gone.
I swallow hard, and Calisi moves again.
She rests herself against me. Her fingers slide across my wrist, then up to my jaw.
"I hate beastmen, Avaren," she breathes.
"I hate them so much I don’t know where the hatred for them ends, and where I begin. For all these years... that’s been all that’s kept me breathing. The hatred." She adds with her voice lower than a whisper, and her mana shifting again.
I place my hand over hers as he delicate palm cups my cheek.
"I know," I reply, and she sighs.
"They destroyed my family. They destroyed my peace... They destroyed everything my father believed in." Her voice softens further. Trembling in a way that exposed that she was about to cry... and tears aren’t something Calisi does.
She’s long taken away that liberty from herself. And her fighting tears now... Her... holding back... It means this topic rips open so many things she’s sealed.
It hurts me to see her hurt.
"I want revenge. I want them to suffer as we did." She breathes, and her mana pulses sharply with pain.
Pain I can feel in totality, even to the tip of my hair, as she places her faith in my hands.
In the hands of the boy she grew up with.
In the hands of the man who would burn the realms to make her smile.
I may not see it, but just hearing her laugh... sensing sincere happiness from her... would give me joy...
So much joy.
"I will get you your revenge," I say quietly, and her breath hitches.
"You don’t have to..." She begins, but I cut her off,
"I already have," I speak as my fingers tighten around hers.
"Calisis... I would give anything for you. Anything." I whisper, and I feel her go completely still.
"I gave my eyes for you," I whisper.
"And if that is not enough, I will lose more. I will rip out my heart if I must. Lay waste to multitudes... I will face death if it stands in your way." I add, and her mana ripples. With pain... love, devotion.
"If it takes my life," I continue softly,
"Then I will die smiling, knowing my life spent on you... was a life well spent." I confess, and she takes a deep, shaky breath.
"Avaren..." she breathes, voice cracking.
I slide my hand up her arm, tracing her mana until my thumb finds her cheek. She leans into my touch instantly.
"I love you," I say, the words leaving me without hesitation, without fear.
"I have always loved you," I add with my heart hammering with every word.
"I will not fail you," I promise.
"Not now. Not ever." I add, just then, her hands cup my face, she pulls herself upwards until our foreheads touch.
"You foolish man," she whispers, voice trembling with tenderness.
"Of course you love me." She chuckles as her hands slide to my neck, warm and certain.
"And I love you too." She breathes, and my heart leaps.
After all she’s been through... After all she’s lost... she trusts me... she loves me... It’s a gift I’m unworthy of, and I battle every day to be.
I feel her lips press against mine... soft, lingering, painfully gentle.
The kiss is slow. Unhurried. pure...
A promise... a vow woven between breath and mana.
She pulls back slightly, her fingers tangled in my hair now.
"I know you love me, Averen," she whispers.
"I’ve always known." She adds as her thumb brushes my cheekbone.
"And I love you too."
I smile, and although my eyes cannot see her smile back, I feel it.
Her mana brightens, warm as dawn.
We stay there in the silence... her head back on my chest, my arms around her waist, two hearts beating with the same ache, the same rage, the same devotion... and the same promise:
BeastHeaven will burn. No matter the cost.
Let them enjoy the little peace they have now... because soon, it will vanish. Like a lullaby descending to a scream.
