Chapter 98: Meeting The High Priest (3)

Eiravyn stood tall, his broad shoulders draped in a velvet cloak of deep, midnight crimson, embroidered with intricate golden threads that shimmered like stars, he looked like a groom. The cloak’s clasp, a gleaming golden lion’s head, rested against his chest, symbolizing his royal lineage. His tunic, a crisp white, was adorned with a golden sash bearing the royal crest, his dark hair was rich, accentuating the sharp lines of his face.

As he stared at his two friends, his face with well-carved features looked cold on the outside, but his red eyes held warmth and excitement in them despite him pretending to be indifferent. Celrean and Caspian exchange glance as they noticed this and decided to not point it out. It was obvious Eiravyn was very much excited.

After giving a few orders to his right-hand aide and his royal commander, the three men stepped out of the room. Eiravyn , Celrean, and Caspian walked together, with the two young men only a step behind their king as per traditions while all other knight and servants followed them from behind.

On the way down the corridor of the fourth floor, Caspian said in a low voice, "Ravyn, I was not expecting that you’d already came up with a solution before the court meeting. No wonder you insisted to reschedule the meeting, despite that you hadn’t meet the high priest."

Eiravyn smiled lightly, "You should start trusting me more often."

"Oh hell yeah. I really should, I enjoyed every bit of the meeting. It was exhilarating." Caspian praised.

After walking for a while, Caspian and Celrean went in the other direction to the banquet room where they could hear soft music playing — to fulfil Eiravyn’s order, while Eiravyn went in the opposite direction after discharging the knights and servants following him.

Eiravyn stopped walking when he got to the double doors, he stood in front of a platform, it was a balcony on the second floor. It was needed so the guest would not notice his absence in the ball room, so he had resorted to take the back door.

Eiravyn did not have to wait too long for Serena as she and his knights were already making their way to the balcony. Eiravyn, who was facing outside the royal house, sensed that she had stepped into the room, since he was already at the balcony he couldn’t see her face, he had to turn to look at his mate.

"Little kitten."

In these few days that they have been getting to know each other, Eiravyn had seen many sides if his mate, and he knew she was a heavenly beauty. But looking at her now, he could feel his breath getting knocked out. Those Aurora blue eyes held his gaze as piercing as it was shimmering, and he was unable to look away. He wouldn’t mind to be captured right there in this moment. His breath was shaky as he stared at her.

During their time in the human realm at the art event, she had looked so stunning that Eiravyn was not able to take his eyes away, that was the very first time he had really took notice of her, because of how lovely she looked that night and when he realized she had dressed that way to impress him, it only added to her charm.

This time it was different. The two of them had gotten to know each other, and they had even gone past some difficult and tricky times. She was no longer just a human girl who turned out to be his mate, she was... he was sure not a human, and today, he would be hundred and one percent certain of this.

The young woman in front of him looked absolutely mesmerizing in that white dress. Her blue eyes were like the rarest of gems, looking at him with such tender warmth, it made him forget there was a knight accompanying her, as Serena was all he could see. She looked like a rare flower that had bloomed on a fragile land... no, even those words seemed to not do Serena any justice or to explain the beauty of his mate, he just couldn’t wait to have her.

The knight standing behind Serena suddenly felt awkward, it felt like he was interrupting something and he just couldn’t place his hands on what exactly. The look his king was giving this human was just too much for him, that he had to step out of the room before the two people would start making out in the room, since he was sure they didn’t register his presence anymore, he did a low bow towards his king before taking his leave.

The moment Serena saw Eiravyn waiting for her by the balcony, the anxiety inside her chest seemingly increased, and it was as if her legs no longer belonged to her, as she was finding it difficult to take a step towards him, she was afraid to miss her step, nor did she want to step on the layers of her gown and fall face flat on the floor. But her knees were shaking, and it was taking a toll on her body to stay upright and composed.

Inhaling deeply, she tried her best to avoid those piercing red eyes of his that seemed your be drawing her to him, almost like she wss being hypnotized. Maybe it was because this was her first time of seeing him that in his ceremonial attire as he had always appears in front of her in suits and long robes, so seeing him on the ceremonial tunic meant for the king was different. She could not deny that the man in front of her looked devilishly handsome. It was difficult for her to look away and she was sure it wasn’t only her. Looking ar him now, she felt a sudden urge to tick him away safely at her side for only her to admire whenever and however she liked.

But regardless of what she was feeling, Eiravyn’s eyes only sought for her. Of that, she was sure as hell.
