Heavenly Opposers-Chapter 279 - 278-A Nice Day.
The power of death wrapped around Azrail as the power that was hovering over him disappeared, the rational mind coming back for a moment as Azrail gazed in front of the scene happening in front of him.
’I didn’t expect it to be something like this.’
He thought as he felt the hinges around him and the room, the power being unleashed from this side of Raena being a certain power indeed.
’The innocent sexy.’
Azrail thought the situation around him with what was happening wasn’t normal at all. His mother isn’t one who would quickly react to things, and she definitely isn’t one to get so heated over things so quickly. Whatever is happening around her is not normal at all, and the whole reason for it is Raena herself.
’A natural tendency to make everyone happy, relaxed, and let out an oppressed side, that’s quite the charm.’
To women, it acted like that; to men, she would be the innocent ex that would make their heart go mad in passion. The worst of all is the fact that they won’t feel it; it’s for the simple reason that it is completely harmless! How could something that was making you relaxed, happy, and letting out the sides you are suppressing be something bad?
Even Azrail was affected by it such that he went along with it. That kind of power, in a sense, is normal but, if used correctly, would be terrifying because no one would feel it at first. It’s only because Azrail is who he is that he quickly caught onto it, his mental abilities quickly having picked up the issue and helped him.
’She is not using this actively.’
Azrail’s eyes narrowed at that thought; the power was leaking mistakenly from Raena’s side. She was doing it without control, and it was something that was happening because Raena’s emotions right now were running amok. Once she is stabilised, she will feel all better and will be able to handle the power better.
"He’s my potty boy!"
"No! I want him to be my potty boy!"
’.....’
’I don’t think I will ever get over this memory in my life.’
Azrail thought with a dull ache in his heart. Though this power was affecting his mother, Azrail didn’t react to it, seeing such lies from her just made him smile. It’s nice to just let it all loose, and it’s good for his mother, too, who keeps everything in her heart and tries to take it all. To let it all out would just be good for all.
’But I need to leave this place before my mental state deteriorates.’
Thinking so, Azrail vanished from the room, appearing back in his very room. He left it all to his mother, knowing very well that once the high settled down, the two motherly women would be the ones that would be the most embarrassed, their thought that no one else would have seen it is the thing that kept them sane.
’Sadly for them, I have recorded it all.’
Azrail smiled as he kept the recording with him. It wouldn’t be fair if he didn’t give them back the ounce of mental hit that they gave him.
’Being petty feels good.’
Focusing on those useless thoughts, Azrail focused on the main issue at hand. He closed his eyes to feel around him, the shifting powers finally taking a single stance. His aura soon spread and covered all around the house while his body started to focus all around him, the two awakened flames calling out within him as Azrail focused deeply, his mind turning calm.
’The acknowledgement of the 21 rulers is still left behind for me.’
Azrail thought his true rise to the prince of death began with him taking under him the 21 rulers and gaining their favour, an activity that would take time and one that could only be done after he reached a certain level of his power. Thus, with closed eyes, Azrail started to focus on himself, slowly raising each of his attributes.
...…
"I’m so sorry for my earlier display. I don’t know what had got to me."
Raena spoke, apologising to me at the dinner table as we met, the woman having a very healthy embarrassed blush on her face, making her look very cute as Azrail, waving his hand at her, replied.

"It’s fine; it’s just a side effect of the whole situation. I waited in the room to deal with it, but you escaped before I could do or say anything....."
As Azrail trailed his words, his gaze fell towards his mother, a very small part of his mother’s ears looking red from the embarrassment that she was going through. The whole situation was very funny as his eyes met his mother’s, just the gaze between them showing the fact that Azrail knew what had gone down, only making things harder for both Raena and Lan.
The two of them were embarrassed to the limit of what had happened. Of course, things had cleared up later, but the total emotions of the opening that went through with Raena and Lan being extremely out of character took time for the two of them to recover from what they had gone through.
"Cough..... I think it’s time we had dinner, don’t you think so?"
Azrail’s mother spoke, breaking the atmosphere and trying to change the direction of things, and Azrail let it go. After all, he already has the recording with him, a very rare moment of his mother’s loving outbursts that she keeps at heart. Thus, Azrail, nodding his head, spoke to Raena.
"Yes, let’s eat, and as I said before, I have no hard feelings about what happened."
His words made Raena let out a relieved sigh as she spoke.
"Well, then let me thank you again for what you did for me, I haven’t felt this good about myself in a while."
’Give it time; I don’t think that feeling would last for long.’
Azrail, thinking so, just found himself at the table, surrounded by his mother, sister Valencia, Raena, and Kia. The rest had some things for themselves as the dinner started, small talk going all around the table, with smiles and a bit of awkward adjusting for everyone except Valencia to adjust to the new and, in a sense, improved Raena.
"You made such a promise to Braze?"
Azrail’s mother suddenly asked, a bit of mischief in her voice, to which, nodding his head, Azrail replied.
"Yup, uncle lit up like a firefly in the night from that reply."
"I will be the one to give the final verdict."
Lan replied, her eyes twinkling with energy, to which Raena added with a shake of her head.
"Sadist."
To which Lan just shook her head as everyone chuckled a bit at it, well except for Xuanyin, who was keeping a frosty look, but Azrail could tell that she was feeling laughter too deep within her as Azrail spoke.
"We can give it to him together, that will be more fun....."
"Sadists....."
This time, Kia chimed in, making Azrail reply back to her.
"As if you, too, don’t want to be involved in this."
"I never said no."
Kia replied, pointing her fork at Azrail, who just went along with her. Raena quickly mixed herself into the group, thus making this a much more happy dinner filled with light banter and a whole lot of energy and love for each other.
