Heavenly Dragon Doctor Son-in-Law-Chapter 71 - 72: I’m powerless over your disease!
Han Bing gave Qin Long a flirtatious look, as if to say they were both in on the secret. Upon hearing her story, Qin Long’s brow furrowed.
"You have no idea how explosive that scene was. The girl had an incredible figure."
"But that little bitch actually pulled out a dagger and stabbed me, wounding my back."
"It was only later that I found out she had Gu Poison in her blood."
"Damn it, Young Master Qin, don’t you think I’m just incredibly unlucky?" As she spoke, the diamond bracelet on her wrist jingled, and she took a hard swallow of tea. To her, such a wicked and immoral act was perfectly normal; she certainly felt no guilt.
Soon, she felt an invisible, oppressive force bearing down on her. Han Bing finally looked up and eyed Qin Long cautiously. His eyes appeared calm on the surface, but underneath, they churned like a turbulent sea.
After all, Han Bing had been navigating the Jiangzhong underworld for many years. She had seen her share of experts, and she knew in that instant that Qin Long wanted to kill her.
It was an undeniable, overwhelming murderous intent! It was suffocating!
The domineering aura radiating from Qin Long almost made it impossible for her, the Underworld Queen of Jiangzhong, to breathe. It felt as if he could tear her apart at any moment.
"Young Master Qin, let’s talk this out!" Han Bing braced herself, pressing her hands on the table to keep from collapsing. She wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, not daring to meet his gaze.
Qin Long stared at her, his eyes like ice.
He would never save a venomous snake. His sense of morality forbade it. He had once been the commander of the million-strong Heavenly Dragon Army, guarding the Southern Region. For what purpose? To shed blood and tears for the nation’s security. While he and his brothers fought bloody battles at the front, scum like her brought disaster upon the people behind their backs. If he had the Skybreaker Sword in his hand, he wouldn’t hesitate to take Han Bing’s head.
Qin Long glared at her fiercely for several minutes.
He was no longer the all-powerful Dragon of War. The Heavenly Dragon battle robe and the Skybreaker Punishment Sword were no longer with him. But he would not aid a villain.
"I’m sorry, I am powerless to cure your affliction," Qin Long said indifferently, his eyes narrowed.
"What?" Han Bing’s gaze turned cold. She removed the cigarette butt from her lips and stared at Qin Long, anger flaring in her eyes. She was the Underworld Queen of Jiangzhong! Hadn’t she humbled herself before him just to beg for a cure? Now that she had made her position clear, he was telling her he was powerless? Wasn’t that a blatant slap in the face?
"Young Master Qin, are you trying to scare me? You identified my Blood Plum Gu Poison with a single glance. How could you possibly be unable to cure it? Are you trying to slight me, Han Bing?"
Her expression turned icy, her words dripping with annoyance. She had groveled and flattered him for so long; she wouldn’t be fooled by a simple claim of helplessness.
Hearing this, a disdainful smirk touched the corner of Qin Long’s lips. Does she really want to force my hand?
"Young Master Qin, as long as you cure me," Han Bing pressed, switching to temptation, "whatever you want—beautiful women, luxury cars, wealth—I can get it all for you. I’d even give you my entire fortune." She didn’t believe for a second that he wouldn’t be moved.
"I am powerless to help," Qin Long repeated, his gaze unnervingly calm.
Han Bing’s face grew colder. "What do you take me for? If you didn’t have the skill, why would Madam Zhao give me her personal guarantee? Or are you just saying you don’t want to save me?"
She slammed her hand on the table in a fit of rage, glaring venomously at Qin Long.
When had she, Han Bing, ever been humiliated by a cripple? Yet Qin Long remained completely nonchalant, as if he didn’t take her seriously in the least. Does this guy really have no fear of death?
Qin Long let out a cold laugh. As a former Dragon Commander, he could still distinguish right from wrong. Save scum like Han Bing? Absolutely impossible. Let her live to continue aiding the wicked? A pipe dream.
"You’ve brought this upon yourself. There’s no saving you," Qin Long said, leaning on his cane and preparing to leave. If he had known Han Bing was such a monster, he would never have come.
"Wait!" Han Bing roared, blocking his path. How could she let her only hope for survival just walk away?
"Does Young Master Qin have some conditions? Just name them! As long as you agree to cure me, I will do everything in my power to satisfy you." She paused, her tone shifting to one of immense arrogance. "Young Master Qin, perhaps you aren’t aware of my influence in Jiangzhong? I am the Underworld Queen of Jiangzhong! When I sneeze, the entire city trembles. With me as your friend, no one will ever dare to bully you!"
Han Bing suppressed her burning rage as she spoke. But Qin Long simply ignored her.
"You crippled dog, don’t push me!" she screamed toward the doorway.
BANG!
Instantly, the guards outside stormed in. "Sister Bing, what is it?" more than fifty of them called out respectfully, their cold eyes fixed on Qin Long.
Han Bing’s gaze was venomous. She had humbled herself only because he could save her life, but this bastard had actually refused to treat her. The thought sent her into a furious rage, her expression utterly ferocious. She wanted to see just how Qin Long planned to get out of this today.
"If you don’t want to die, tell them to get lost," Qin Long said, turning his head, his voice frigid.
"Qin Long, as long as you agree to cure me, I, Han Bing, am willing to give you everything I own!" she said, clenching her fists, her tone softening slightly. She didn’t want to resort to force; she was here for a cure, after all.
"Since your attitude was decent enough earlier, I’ll let you in on a secret," Qin Long said. "Based on the current state of the Gu Poison, you have three months to live at most. Make the most of your remaining days."
With that, Qin Long limped away on his cane.
Hearing this, Han Bing trembled with rage. She knew this Gu Poison was no simple matter. The experts had told her she had a year at most, but in a severe case, as little as three months. Otherwise, why would she be begging Qin Long?
"Young Master Qin, I’m kneeling to you! Please, save me!" Han Bing bit her lip and dropped to her knees, pleading desperately. She had reached her current status in her early thirties and hadn’t yet had her fill of handsome men. What a pity it would be to die now.
Qin Long sighed and continued toward the exit. The surrounding guards kept their eyes on Han Bing, waiting for her signal. With just a wave from Sister Bing, they would beat this cripple to a pulp.
After her men helped her up, Han Bing gritted her teeth and signaled for them to stand down. After all, if Qin Long died, she would be finished as well.
"Young Master Qin, I’ll give you three days to consider," she called after him, her voice filled with menace. "If you still refuse, don’t blame me for being ruthless."
But Qin Long walked on, completely ignoring her threat.
He wasn’t afraid. Who could possibly threaten the former Heavenly Dragon, even in his current, fallen state? His only concern was that Xuewu might get hurt.
"Sister Bing, if you had given the order, I’d have taught him a lesson!" one of her trusted confidants said, his fists clenched in anger. "In all these years, who has ever dared to treat you like that?"
Han Bing’s expression was grim. She signaled for her driver to leave, then immediately dialed Zhao Ruoying’s number.
When the call connected, the sullenness vanished from her face, replaced by a polite tone. "Madam Zhao, it’s Bing Bing."
