Heavenly Dragon Doctor Son-in-Law-Chapter 65 - 66: Wang Ming, who is good at seizing opportunities
"Mr. Qin, opening an account with us is undoubtedly the best promotion for the Flying Dragon Group. Headquarters is already aware and will provide an additional five hundred million in funding support every year. This necklace, worth less than a million, is just a drop in the bucket compared to that. To be frank, I’m the one taking advantage of your good standing. Please, you must accept it."
Upon hearing this, Qin Long pondered for a moment before finally agreeing.
"Take care, Mr. Qin."
Qin Long picked up the Flying Dragon Group’s Purple Crystal Card and departed, with Li Yao personally assisting him out.
「Elsewhere.」
Watching Tang Xuewu sitting silently on the sofa with her hands clasped around her knees, Zhang Meilan pointed at her and scolded, "Xuewu, what about the five million? Has it arrived yet?"
Tang Xuewu remained silent, tears streaming down her cheeks.
"I saw through him long ago, but you just wouldn’t listen! Now look what’s happened! Treating a cripple like a treasure? So what if he knows Mrs. Zhao? It’s not like he has any money of his own." Zhang Meilan grew more animated as she spoke, her heart filled with contempt for Qin Long.
TAP, TAP, TAP. The sound of footsteps came from outside.
Hearing the steps, Tang Xuewu assumed it was Qin Long and started to get up to help him, but Zhang Meilan immediately blocked her path.
"He probably picked up that worthless card from some gutter," she said, crossing her arms to continue her tirade. "Only a fool like you would believe him! Now look what’s happened. You didn’t get the money, and you were humiliated on top of it. If you had just called Young Master Wang earlier, none of this nonsense would have occurred!"
"Enough! I don’t want to hear it," Tang Xuewu sobbed, glancing at Zhang Meilan with tear-filled eyes. "Can you please just stop talking? Let me have some peace and quiet."
"Xuewu, Auntie Lan, what’s wrong?"
At that moment, Wang Ming, dressed in a blue formal suit, slowly approached with a smile. Seeing him, Tang Xuewu was filled with confusion. She had thought it was Qin Long but was surprised to see it was Wang Ming.
"Oh, Young Master Wang, you’re here!" Zhang Meilan’s expression immediately switched to a beaming smile.
"I got a call from Auntie Lan saying the Tang Family’s company was having some issues with its contract manufacturers," Wang Ming said, looking at Tang Xuewu with utmost sincerity. "So I immediately cleared the schedules of the Wang Family’s factories and rushed right over."
Tang Xuewu stared speechlessly at her mother.
Zhang Meilan, looking away guiltily, used it as an excuse to go make tea.
Just then, his female secretary intentionally interjected, "Mr. Wang, to take on the Tang Family’s manufacturing contract, you even paid a ten-million penalty to the other party."
"Mind your tongue!" Wang Ming deliberately shot his secretary a cold look. "In my heart, Xuewu is what’s most important. What’s ten million compared to her?"
Hearing this from the kitchen, Zhang Meilan, who was bringing out the tea, broke into a huge grin.
Tang Xuewu, on the other hand, felt a bit embarrassed. No matter how she looked at it, her mother had called Wang Ming, which had caused him a financial loss. This was tantamount to her family proactively asking him for help. It would be wrong of her to refuse now.
"Don’t worry, Xuewu. The Tang Family’s problems are my problems," Wang Ming said, intentionally leaning closer to Tang Xuewu and trying to brush his hand against hers, a look of sincerity plastered on his face.
Tang Xuewu instantly recoiled.
"Young Master Wang Ming is still the best," Zhang Meilan said, personally serving Wang Ming a cup of tea made from Tang De’s treasured Yunnan Puerh.
"Auntie Lan, you’re too kind. Xuewu’s problems are my problems," Wang Ming promised with a grand wave of his hand. "I’d walk through fire for her and never bat an eye."
"Thank you, Young Master Wang," Zhang Meilan replied, her fawning expression growing more intense as she nodded repeatedly.
"Young Master Wang, thank you, but I’d still prefer to resolve this on my own." Tang Xuewu pursed her lips and held up a hand to stop him. She knew what he was after and wanted no part of his help, nor did she want to be indebted to him in any way. Even if he could truly solve her problem, she didn’t want his help.
"Xuewu, are you insane?" Zhang Meilan roared, glaring at her daughter.
"Auntie Lan, don’t be angry. I understand why Xuewu feels this way." Wang Ming feigned magnanimity, first calming Zhang Meilan down before turning a gentle gaze on Tang Xuewu. "Xuewu, with the large orders from the Yaolong Group, your company’s scale and profits are soaring. However, if your contract manufacturers aren’t sufficient, you won’t be able to deliver on time. At that point, you’ll not only have to pay contract penalties, but you could even face a break in your capital chain."
"That’s right, Miss Tang," his secretary chimed in with a smile. "Just the day before yesterday, Qianxue Corporation’s capital chain broke due to a lack of contract manufacturers. Their general manager saw no way out and committed suicide by jumping from his office building."
Tang Xuewu fell into thought. What Wang Ming and his secretary said wasn’t without reason. As general manager, it was her duty to give it her all.
Qin Long’s image appeared in her mind. But if I fall into ruin, how will A’Long survive? Who would take pity on him, cook for him, and wash his clothes?
She felt helpless. If she didn’t accept Wang Ming’s help and the company truly defaulted, faced a collapse of its capital chain, or even went bankrupt, the Tang Family would never trust her again. Although she was only the temporary general manager for this project, she at least still had the power to protect Qin Long. If she lost everything, the Tang Family would not let Qin Long off the hook, let alone her and her parents.
Tang Xuewu took a slow breath. For her future with Qin Long, she had to compromise, no matter how much she hated it.
"In that case, thank you, Young Master Wang," she relented. "However, there’s no need for you to intentionally pay a ten-million penalty. If you could just lend me five million personally, that would be enough. I can convert that amount into project shares for you, or I can write you an IOU for it. Of course, it will be calculated at your usual highest interest rate."
"Xuewu, now you’re just making me angry," Wang Ming said, slapping his thigh in frustration. "I, Wang Ming, came here to help you out of sincerity! What’s a mere ten million to me?"
"Exactly, Xuewu, how can you be so thoughtless?" Zhang Meilan immediately chimed in. "He’s offering help in your time of need! Speaking like that will break Young Master Wang’s heart."
Tang Xuewu’s face flushed with shame.
"Then it’s settled. I’ll transfer ten million to you. Use it however you like, and just let me know if it’s not enough," Wang Ming announced magnanimously.
A greedy look flashed across Zhang Meilan’s face, and she grew visibly excited. Now *this* is a real catch! He can casually give away ten million without asking for anything in return. Qin Long could never do something like that, not in his entire life.
She sneered inwardly at the thought of Qin Long. That useless bum. He’s not just penniless and dependent on Xuewu for everything, but lately, he’s been lying to her over and over. He even tried to trick her with some junk card to withdraw money. What an absolute disgrace!
"Young Master Wang, we must treat this as a loan with interest—"
Before she could finish, her phone rang.
"What is it, Secretary Liu?" Tang Xuewu asked, a hint of worry in her voice.
"General Manager Tang, great news! An extra ten million has just been deposited into our company’s account! It’s more than enough to solve our contract manufacturing problem!"
