Chapter 192: Chapter 193: Arrogant Jin Tianyang Mortgages the Company!

I absolutely cannot let this saboteur off easily.

「In the Tang Family Company’s meeting room.」

Tang Xuewu and Qin Long entered. Across from them sat a beautiful woman in formal attire who looked to be in her thirties.

"Ah, President Tang, you’ve finally arrived!" one of the women said, handing over a tablet. "This is the mortgage agreement. You can take a look."

The woman’s tone was extremely unfriendly.

Tang Xuewu was utterly confused, but she took the tablet and began to examine it.

A mortgage agreement... She didn’t remember mortgaging anything. Even when Wang Ming had lent her money, it had been a company transfer. Besides, Qin Long had already repaid that ten million! So how could there be a mortgage agreement?

Several of the company’s shareholders had also rushed over, only to be detained the moment they arrived. Their captors demanded to see the company’s project manager, which was why Manager Li had called Tang Xuewu in such a panic.

"President Tang?" Seeing Tang Xuewu lost in thought, one of the beautiful women tapped the table with her slender hand.

Tang Xuewu’s eyes remained fixed on the mortgage agreement on the tablet.

"Who are you people?" Tang Xuewu asked, her brow furrowed as she looked at them.

"We’re from the Golden Sun Company." One of the women presented a business card. Everything seemed flawlessly orchestrated.

Hearing this, Tang Xuewu’s brow furrowed slightly. She had heard of the Golden Sun Company; it was an extremely well-known and legitimate mortgage company. Furthermore, the owner behind the company was rumored to be incredibly powerful. As long as you put up enough collateral, they would transfer the money to you instantly. However, if the loan wasn’t repaid on time, the interest alone could amount to hundreds of thousands a day.

Many desperate business owners, wanting to save their life’s work, would have no choice but to mortgage their lands and valuables to secure a cash injection. They were forced to accept the exorbitant interest rates. Rumor had it that the owner of Golden Sun was no ordinary figure; even government officials had to show them some respect.

Yet, Tang Xuewu had reviewed all of her company’s records and found no mortgage agreement with them.

"Are you sure you haven’t made a mistake?" she asked, her tone growing heavy after carefully re-examining the agreement. "The Tang Family has never mortgaged anything to your company."

"President Tang, we operate based on evidence. We wouldn’t just randomly accuse your company," the woman replied. "Besides, the Golden Sun Company values its reputation. We don’t make mistakes. You should read the agreement on the tablet carefully before you speak."

Nearby, the other beautiful woman crossed her legs, revealing a pair of long, fair limbs that were hard to look away from. Her expression was a mix of arrogance and confidence.

As Tang Xuewu continued to scroll down the agreement, her expression changed drastically. A look of pure shock filled her eyes as she saw something unbelievable. There were two documents: one was the agreement for Qin Long’s purchase of the Dragon King Villa from earlier today, and the other was for the Jade Dragon Courtyard. Next to them was a contract showing that Qin Long had mortgaged all of the Tang family’s ancestral homes.

It was an undeniable fact, all there in black and white.

Just moments ago, Tang Xuewu had been so happy, even daydreaming about marrying Qin Long. In an instant, that beautiful dream shattered, and all color drained from her face, leaving her looking pale and weak.

And at the bottom... Qin Long’s signature and thumbprint...

Tang Xuewu froze, petrified.

Qin Long really had mortgaged all of the Tang family’s ancestral homes, even Grandma’s burial plot. He had deceived her after all. The Audi, the Rolls-Royce, and that fifty-million-yuan villa and courtyard... they were all bought with money from mortgaging our family’s ancestral homes!

Tang Xuewu’s grip tightened on the tablet, her red lips pressed into a thin line. She hated being deceived more than anything.

But just a moment ago, Qin Long had insisted it was his own money, denying that he had mortgaged anything. But now, here was the agreement in black and white, complete with his signature and thumbprint. How could he deny this?

Tang Xuewu’s heart filled with despair, turning to ash.

Qin Long also noticed the change in Tang Xuewu’s demeanor, but he didn’t know what had happened, so he remained silent.

"President Tang, do you understand now?" the woman with her legs crossed asked, her voice dripping with cold arrogance. "It’s all personally signed, with a thumbprint. That can’t be fake, can it?"

Tang Xuewu clenched her fists, her face a mask of fury as she said coldly, "He is not a member of the Tang Family! He has no right to mortgage our ancestral house! You’re doing this deliberately to make things difficult for us!"

Qin Long was not a member of the Tang Family, nor was he married to her. He had no standing to represent them, let alone the authority to mortgage their property to an outside company. And yet, the Golden Sun Company had gone ahead with the mortgage agreement with Qin Long without a single Tang family member present as a witness.

Isn’t this a deliberate attempt to humiliate the Tang Family?

"Haha, President Tang, you really are something else," the woman chuckled. "But we live in a society governed by the rule of law. Some things aren’t decided by you or me, are they? And why would the Golden Sun Company turn away business? There’s no reason to, is there? Besides, is your Tang Family truly as pure as the driven snow?"

The beautiful woman’s words pierced Tang Xuewu’s heart like needles.

"Besides, the Golden Sun Company only cares about profits. We can’t be bothered with anything else," the woman continued, her tone filled with mockery. "Our interest rates might be high, but it was one of your own who willingly walked into our trap. It’s like all those scams you see online. Even when everyone knows they’re fake, people still fall for them, don’t they?"

Taking a moment to compose herself, Tang Xuewu asked slowly, "What’s the remaining balance on the mortgaged ancestral homes?"

"President Tang, look here." The woman slid her red-nailed finger across the tablet’s screen.

Tang Xuewu saw the amount. An additional fifty million had been overdrawn. Seeing the string of zeros after the minus sign, Tang Xuewu gritted her teeth in fury.

Qin Long not only mortgaged the ancestral homes, but he also took out an additional fifty million! With a loan that large, the high-interest payments alone would be hundreds of thousands a day!

"You... you’re shameless!" Tang Xuewu slammed her hand on the table and shot to her feet, fuming. "He’s just a cripple on a cane! What could he possibly use to repay you? Don’t your mortgage companies have to assess a person’s ability to repay before giving out a loan?"

"That’s not our problem," the woman said with a cold sneer, clearly enjoying the spectacle. "If he can’t pay, we’ll just have to look to you, the Tang Family, to cover it. The contract clearly states the Tang Family Ancestral House was used as collateral. You can’t wriggle your way out of this."

From the very beginning, their target was the Tang Family, not just Qin Long. After all, the collateral was the Tang Family Ancestral House.

"Excuse me," Qin Long said slowly, his brow furrowed. "But I get the feeling you’re talking about me."

The more he listened from the sidelines, the more something felt wrong. It was clear Tang Xuewu was talking about him.

Upon hearing this, Tang Xuewu and the two beautiful women were all taken aback.

Tang Xuewu looked at him, her expression one of utter disappointment. She had warned him time and time again to be pragmatic and down-to-earth. And yet, for the sake of money, he had actually gone and mortgaged the family’s ancestral homes.

But what was done was done. It was too late to say anything now. The properties were already mortgaged, and Tang Xuewu could only endure this silently. She couldn’t just stand by and watch the people from the Golden Sun Company beat Qin Long to death.
