Chapter 18: Chapter 18 Don’t Ruin the Luxury Car, Fool!

"Xuewu, I really don’t understand you. Is it worth being so attached to a cripple? Isn’t being Wang Ming’s woman good enough?" Tang Yuxiang finally voiced the thoughts he had been holding back, just to fulfill his promise to Wang Ming.

"I refuse." Tang Xuewu gave Tang Yuxiang a cold glare, then mounted her bicycle and slowly rode away, leaving a graceful figure behind her.

"Tang Xuewu, you sanctimonious bitch!" Tang Yuxiang roared in frustration. "Sooner or later, harsh reality will slap you in the face! You’ll regret this so deeply it’ll turn your guts green! When that day comes, you could be on your knees begging to be someone’s mistress, and no one would even want you!"

Hearing his shouts, Tang Xuewu’s bicycle suddenly stopped.

Has that damned woman finally seen the light? Tang Yuxiang wondered.

However, Tang Xuewu only cast a fleeting glance at the parking spot by the gate. The white Aston Martin was gone. She shook her head helplessly. Qin Long claimed he bought it for her. Just as I expected, he only borrowed the car. It was all a dream. It wasn’t that she was a gold digger; she just thought that if Qin Long could really afford such a supercar, the Tang Family would never have driven him away.

Why am I even thinking about such crazy things? It’s impossible! Tang Xuewu sighed and rode off.

"Haha!" Tang Yuxiang scoffed. "Looks like that fool’s stupidity is contagious. She’s going crazy too! Her life is ruined. She’ll never amount to anything." Cursing under his breath, he was about to leave.

"Yuxiang! Yuxiang! Explosive news!" Tang Chuchu ran over, a look of shock on her face.

"What explosive news?" Tang Yuxiang raised an eyebrow, skeptical.

"Haha, Mrs. Wang just told me that Qin Long custom-ordered a supercar for Tang Xuewu today! What was it called again..." Tang Chuchu’s tone was filled with astonishment, yet deep down, she didn’t believe a word of it.

"An Aston Martin!" Tang Yuxiang blurted out. "How is that even possible? Qin Long? That limping dog? An Aston Martin? Chuchu, you don’t actually believe he can afford that, do you?" He refused to believe his sister.

"Of course not," Tang Chuchu scoffed with a laugh. "They can’t even afford an electric scooter!"

Meanwhile, Tang Xuewu suddenly recalled how Qin Long, leaning on his crutches, had rushed to protect her. Her heart stirred with an inexplicable emotion. Her workplace wasn’t close to home, so it must have been exhausting for him to come all that way on his crutches just to see her. Why do I care about him? I’m just pitying him. That’s all.

As soon as Tang Xuewu parked her bike, she heard a lot of commotion. A dense crowd had gathered around her family’s small courtyard.

Don’t tell me something happened to Long? She immediately pushed her way through.

"Damn, that’s an Aston Martin!"

"I’ve seen it on TV! There are only seventy-seven in the world, worth fifty million!"

"Fifty million! Who the hell owns this car?"

Hearing the chatter, Tang Xuewu’s brow furrowed. But when she saw the car, she froze, completely dumbfounded. The white Aston Martin was actually parked right at her front door. Nearby, her neighbors were snapping endless photos of the luxury car, chattering with excitement and envy.

"It... it’s..." Tang Xuewu stood there, bewildered, her heart pounding wildly as she struggled to calm herself. What she had dismissed as a joke was now a reality, standing right in front of her.

"Perfect timing, Xuewu’s just back from work," a neighbor called out. "Is some rich young master pursuing you?"

"Of course not," Tang Xuewu replied, waving her hand dismissively.

The neighbors all nodded. If a rich young master had truly taken a fancy to her, she wouldn’t be living with them in this shabby alley. They knew life was hard for her, working at a small company while also taking care of that fool of a husband. They had no idea she was actually the granddaughter of the Tang family patriarch. The old man had deliberately distanced the main family from Tang Xuewu’s branch, not wanting to be dragged down by their troubles.

"Oh, Xuewu, could it be from that young master of the Wang Family? He’s always bringing you nice gifts," an older woman chimed in, playfully patting her on the shoulder. They all knew Tang Xuewu’s husband was a fool and that Wang Ming was persistently trying to court her. The neighbors understood the situation all too well.

"It’s not him." Hearing the mockery in their tone, Tang Xuewu decided not to linger.

"Well, in that case, you’d better keep a close eye on that fool of yours," another neighbor snickered. "If he accidentally scratches the car, you couldn’t afford to pay for it even if you sold yourself! Don’t you dare try to blame us when that happens." The neighbors all roared with disdainful laughter.

"It’s just an Aston Martin. It can’t even compare to a single strand of my fiancée’s hair."

A cold voice suddenly came from inside the house.

An Aston Martin! Just an Aston Martin? Not even worth a single hair!

The neighbors instantly turned to look inside the doorway, where they saw Qin Long maneuvering his wheelchair, speeding out towards them.

"That damn cripple. The cleaning lady said he suddenly got his memory back. Who knows if it’s true?"

"Definitely fake. Look at him, belittling an Aston Martin? Saying it’s not worth a strand of his fiancée’s hair?"

"I’m telling you, Little Long Long, you’ve got some nerve, spouting such nonsense!"

"You couldn’t afford a single tire from that car in your entire life!"

After their initial shock, the neighbors began to taunt Qin Long mercilessly. Who did this guy think he was? A cripple daring to look down on an Aston Martin?

Qin Long swept a cold gaze over the crowd and said no more. A dragon doesn’t turn its head for the barking of dogs. They weren’t worthy of its attention.

"Hey, cripple, don’t you dare scratch this fifty-million-dollar luxury car," one of them warned. "Let me tell you, a tiny scratch on this white paint would cost hundreds of thousands to fix."

Seeing Qin Long fall silent, the neighbors assumed he was scared and continued their jeering. But Qin Long simply ignored their barking.

"Xuewu, this car is for you," he said, looking at her with a gentle, affectionate smile.

"For me?" Tang Xuewu froze for a moment, then waved her hands to decline.

The neighbors burst into laughter. Is this fool addicted to bluffing?

"Don’t you want it?" Qin Long asked softly, his gaze tender. For some reason, his heart always softened whenever he looked at Tang Xuewu.

"I do, but this is..." Tang Xuewu hesitated for a moment before giving a slight nod.

"From now on, it’s yours." Qin Long gently placed the White Dragon Key into her palm.

"This...?" Tang Xuewu’s beautiful eyes widened in shock. She stood frozen to the spot.

"Damn, this is hilarious! The guy’s completely lost his mind. He’s a lost cause!"

"Still going on about giving it to his fiancée. What a show-off."

But in the next second, they all fell silent.

Qin Long pressed a button on the White Dragon Key.

BEEP!

A clear engine ignition sound filled the air, and the emblem on the car lit up. The Aston Martin started automatically, and the driver’s side door swung open on its own.

"Holy shit!"

The crowd erupted in an uproar. This incredible car actually belonged to Qin Long. How could he possibly afford it? So he wasn’t just posturing? It was real!

The irony was crushing. Here they were, with their meager salaries of just over a thousand a month, mocking the actual owner of the luxury car.

"What the hell is going on? Isn’t this guy a broke loser?"

"That Aston Martin key is obviously the latest smart version! It must require the owner’s fingerprint to unlock!"
