Heavenly Dragon Doctor Son-in-Law-Chapter 178 - 179 Xuexue Arrives
"Is this how you handle things for me?" Han Tao roared, glaring coldly at Brother Wolf. "You’re not allowed in Little Rose’s bed anymore! Also, Han Bing still has many formidable women under her command. Go and lead them to give that cripple another harsh beating. If you don’t handle this properly, I won’t let you off!" He glared at him one last time, then took a puff from his cigar, his already ferocious face now seeming sinister and terrifying.
"Lord Han, that cripple does have some strength," Brother Wolf said reluctantly after a moment’s thought. "We should hold back for now."
Their current resources, connections, and money were enough for them to live lavishly for decades. Lately, that bitch Yang Fei had been expanding her territory. Rumor had it she was backed by an impressive, far-from-ordinary figure. They were no match for her at all, which was why Brother Wolf had hinted at retiring.
"I think you should stop calling yourself the Hungry Wolf! You’re an embarrassment!" Han Tao was furious at such disheartening words. "A mere cripple has you scared like this? He’s nothing!"
"Lord Han, he said... he’s going to deal with you personally," Brother Wolf finally relayed, gritting his teeth.
"Fuck, you’re killing me!" Han Tao threw his head back and roared with laughter, clutching his stomach as if he’d heard the funniest joke in the world. "A cripple on crutches dares to threaten me? Brother Wolf, it’s not that I look down on him, but I could crush him with one hand! The nerve of him, threatening me!" Han Tao scoffed, a look of pure disdain on his face.
CRACK!
The next second, a figure flew into the room, followed by a procession of fierce female guards with stunning figures. At least fifty or sixty of them rushed in, instantly surrounding the room.
"Bastards, who are you?" Brother Wolf roared furiously.
BANG!
Before he could finish his words, he was sent flying by a kick.
"I’m the one who hit you!" a nimble, ferocious-looking woman declared, coldly patting the leg she had just used.
"You..." Brother Wolf, still nursing his old wounds, clutched his chest and fell silent.
"If you don’t want to die, keep your damn mouth shut!" The woman who had kicked him shot him a fierce look before turning away.
A cold glint flashed in Brother Wolf’s eyes. He intended to rush out and call for his men, but as soon as he stepped outside, he saw them all lying on the ground, wailing and crying.
This! It was that cripple’s doing! Not good, I have to run! It’ll be too late otherwise!
Brother Wolf sucked in a sharp breath. The realization hit him like a physical blow. He’d just gone looking for trouble with Qin Long, and now they were busting down his door. It couldn’t be more obvious! He immediately turned and fled for his life. 𝒇𝒓𝙚𝒆𝔀𝓮𝓫𝒏𝓸𝙫𝓮𝓵.𝓬𝙤𝙢
"If you value your lives, get the hell out!" Han Tao yelled. Although panicked, he put on a show of anger. He had met plenty of powerful people with Han Bing before; these women wouldn’t intimidate him.
"You don’t need to know who I am," a woman with an icy expression said as she strode forward. "You just need to understand that you’ve offended an honored guest of our big sister."
She kicked Han Tao, sending him tumbling to the floor. His cigar was stomped to pieces, scattering shreds of tobacco everywhere in a filthy mess.
"You bitch!" Han Tao gritted his teeth, ready to fight back.
CRACK!
The fierce woman harshly stomped on his arm with her red high-heeled shoe.
"Aaaah!"
Han Tao was mercilessly trampled a few more times before being tied up and dragged away. All of his guards were instantly subdued, and everyone else was locked in a room, trembling too much to speak.
In an instant, Yang Fei’s power swept through Jiangzhong’s entire sphere of influence. Many of those affected had government connections and numerous business ventures. This time, the move cut into the business interests of several very powerful people. Although it was just a small slice of their pie, the impact was significant.
Those hidden figures all wanted to intervene, but no matter what they tried, they found they couldn’t withstand the storm. At first, they thought a few words of warning would solve the problem, but they soon discovered that was not the case. They had always looked down on Yang Fei, seeing her as a low-class femme fatale who could never make it on the big stage. Only after confronting her personally did they realize they were utterly powerless.
It seemed some formidable backer was supporting Yang Fei—someone so significant that even they had to give way. This was a time when the nail that sticks out gets hammered down. If they dared to make a move, the consequences would be even worse.
「Twenty hours later」
A semblance of tranquility returned to Jiangzhong.
It happened to be Tang Xuewu’s day off, so she had her deputies watching the company. She was utterly unaware of the storm that had rocked the city. Even if she had known, she never would have dreamed it was all because of her.
This was all because Qin Long wanted to eliminate every last factor that threatened Xuewu’s safety.
"Long, you must remember what I told you," Tang Xuewu said as she aired out his bedding and clothes. She had taken out his garments for all four seasons to let them breathe. For years, she had been the one to take care of his wardrobe. Despite not having much money, she always made sure Qin Long was dressed in clean, comfortable clothes, never skimping on his care.
"I won’t do it again," Qin Long said with a serious expression. "I just needed to make them afraid. That way, they won’t dare to provoke us again."
"Oh, Long, that head of yours!" Tang Xuewu, half-frustrated, gently tapped his forehead before letting out a chuckle.
Qin Long felt he had done the right thing. Twelve years of slaughter on the battlefield had forged his decisive and ruthless personality. When facing an enemy, one had to strike with stability, precision, and mercilessness. That was a lesson written in blood over many years. However, Tang Xuewu might not understand his methods.
Tang Xuewu could only shake her head helplessly.
"Brother Long, I’m here!"
Just then, a figure rushed in from outside. Hearing the bell-like voice, both Tang Xuewu and Qin Long hurried out to greet her.
"Brother Long!" a six-year-old girl with ponytails bounced into the room. With her big, watery eyes and a little pink dress, she was irresistibly cute.
"Well now, has little Xuexue finished her homework?" Qin Long asked with a teasing grin. It had to be said that Tang Yuehua always dressed her daughter exquisitely.
"Brother Long, I just learned the multiplication table! I’ll recite it for you!" Xuexue chirped, running into Qin Long’s arms. "One times one is one, one times two is two, one times three is three..."
Seeing her daughter throw herself at Qin Long, Tang Yuehua quickly cautioned her. "Xuexue, be careful of your brother’s leg."
"It’s nothing, I’m fine," Qin Long said, waving away her concern.
"Aunt Yuehua, come over here," Tang Xuewu called out with a smile, having finished with the bedding. This was a familiar scene for them, chatting heart-to-heart whenever Xuexue came to play with Qin Long.
"Brother Long, I did a good job reciting my multiplication table last time, so my teacher gave me a present," Xuexue said, deliberately playing coy as she covered her pocket with her small hand. But after a moment, she couldn’t wait any longer and pulled out a bag of milk candies. "I couldn’t even bring myself to eat any. I saved them just for you, Brother Long."
