After Lu Xiao and Ares left, the lights in the Duke Green Mansion stayed on all night.

She thought Admiral Clan would surely be asleep for the night, but to her surprise, she received a reply just moments after sending her message: "Thatโs good."

Lu Xiao remembered how Admiral Clan had messaged her before, promising he would handle the matter with Duke Greenโs family. She never expected he would go to his own mother to do so, nor that he wouldnโt tell her right away. This gave Lu Xiao a new perspective on the Admiral.
Admiral Clan was a man of strong convictions and principles. He was far more tolerant and understanding toward people and matters he had come to accept.
If Lu Xiao had to describe him, Admiral Clan was a clear-headed male who knew exactly what he wanted.
It made Lu Xiao feel that Admiral Clan was different from other males.
Perhaps it had something to do with his upbringing under Duke Galli Odello.
Meeting Cecilia today had also left an impression on Lu Xiao; there was something different about the old woman.
She wasnโt like other females, who were all arrogance and no brains.

He had thought their conversation was over with her previous message.
He was both surprised and pleased to receive this new message. "Yes, thatโs convenient," he replied. "Iโll be there this weekend."
Just after he sent his reply and stepped through the door, Lu Ge Weiโs sarcastic voice rang out. "Coming home this late every day. You think this place is a hotel?"
Admiral Clanโs good mood instantly evaporated. His gaze swept across Lu Ge Weiโs face. He truly couldnโt understand how a woman like her could have given birth to a daughter like Lu Xiao.
โThank goodness Lu Xiao didnโt turn out like her. A true blessing in this unfortunate situation.โ
"I donโt have to come back at all."
His words nearly made Lu Ge Wei faint with rage.
But just as she was about to lash out, Admiral Clan had already turned and headed upstairs, completely ignoring her.

"This 20 million was Duke Greenโs compensation to me. I donโt need it, so just consider it Duke Green investing 40 million in the Fifth Research Institute."
"Since itโs yours, you should keep it. What, is the money burning a hole in your pocket?" Her words were identical to what Ares had said, leaving Lu Xiao unsure whether to laugh or cry. "Itโs not that. I just donโt want to spend this money. Iโd rather invest it in the Fifth Research Institute to help more people. Just think of it as me doing a good deed."
"Is it because the moneyโs from Duke Green, and you feel weird using it?" Teacher Ai Li chuckled and patted Lu Xiaoโs shoulder. Donโt be fooled by Lu Xiaoโs youth; she had seen long ago that the young female was very principled.
โShe demanded this money from Duke Greenโs family just to make them squirm. Now that sheโs achieved her goal, the thought of actually using the money makes her uncomfortable.โ
"In that case, on behalf of everyone at the Fifth Research Institute, I thank our generous benefactor for the donation." After speaking, Teacher Ai Li seemed to recall something. "You donโt need to give any to Major General Ares?"
"No need. He received his own separate compensation."

Lu Xiao opened her terminal and found the two apology letters. The contents of Beinaโs and Beixianโs letters were slightly different, yet also very much the same.
The difference was that Beixianโs apology was addressed to the males she had harmed in the past, and it included a side of apology and gratitude toward Lu Xiao.
Beinaโs, on the other hand, was directed at Lu Xiao and Ares.
What they had in common was that both sistersโ apologies revolved around the theme of "seducing" males.
With these two letters out, it was safe to say that Duke Greenโs reputation would take a significant hit. For the foreseeable future, at least, the members of Duke Greenโs family would have to tuck their tails between their legs and behave.
Perhaps in anticipation of the potential fallout, the comment sections for both sistersโ letters had been disabled.
But even so, that didnโt stop people from gossiping about it endlessly in private.
