He Became A Monstrous Genius After Obtaining A Time Dilation Artifact-Chapter 640. High Fatality rate

Kailen was currently inspecting the list of rewards he had received.
No wonder Christove wanted him dead. If the third place on the rankings received such magnanimous rewards, he couldn’t imagine the kind of rewards the first person on the rankings obtained.
The rewards he had obtained for getting on the third place of the ranking were as follows.
A Rank 8 runic concealment artifact and 100 energy orbs.
Also, the rewards for his mission completion was 200 energy orbs.
"This time, the gains were really massive."
Kailen quickly put on the rank 8 runic concealment artifact. It was a bracelet. The moment he put it on, his energy signature was bound to it.
The moment he activated it, he found his presence completely concealed.
The rank 8 concealment artifact had a rune skill proficiency of 88 percent.
It would be very useful in tactical dealings, Kailen thought.
However, it had its drawbacks. It could not work against supreme stage universe level powerhouses. Also, if someone had a rank 8 runic attack repelling artifact, they could see through the concealment. He would have to consider all this before he uses it.
Kailen deactivated the concealment. He quietly started absorbing the universe energy in the energy orbs.
A day went by in a flash.
Kailen opened his eyes. The warm feeling of universe energy surging in his being was always addictive.
"I am still not close to breaking through, but there’s been some improvement, no matter how small. It’s better than nothing," Kailen thought.
"Time for my last mission."
Kailen started looking through the list of missions.
He went through the high difficulty level missions for a while, but he still hadn’t chosen anything yet. He was looking for one that was on another level, even among high difficulty level missions.
Finally, he found one.
[ A small military outpost located at the edge of the Downpour Galaxy is in need of emergency rank 7 and rank 8 runesmiths to assist in making various protective runes.
Difficulty level: Extremely high (Fatality rates are high. What makes this mission’s difficulty level extremely high is this: the place experiences frequent vimodial ambushes. Anyone there can die from these attacks at any time. Several rank 7 and rank 8 runesmiths who took on this mission have fallen before they could even carry out the mission. The outpost is that dangerous, hence their need for protective rune arrays.) ]
Kailen was in thought after reading the mission.
This was what he needed.
Quickly, he left the living room of his suite, headed towards a teleportation gate that directly led to this outpost.
Along the line, whispers spread wherever he passed.
"He’s finally stepped out?"
"I heard some of the high rankers even visited him, but he didn’t step out to see them."
"Really?"
"Yeah, many assumed he was out on a mission. Turns out he was inside his suite."
"To think he’d ignore them totally."
"Well, they are the ones who want to form connections with him. He doesn’t need them."
"Indeed. Wait... where is he headed to?"
"Is that not the teleportation gate that leads to the Downpour Galaxy?"
"Crazy! This guy is crazy! Don’t tell me he’s taking the Downpour Galaxy mission?"
"He’s gonna get himself killed!"
"Yeah, we all get the fact that Karag Anvilheart always exceeds expectations, but isn’t he overestimating himself a bit this time?"
"This is not just about runesmithery after all. They say the place is teeming with frequent random intermediate stage universe and beginner stage universe level vimodial attacks. How the hell does he expect to survive such an environment to carry out his mission?"
"Well, Karag Anvilheart does not seem to be the kind of person who is impulsive. I’m pretty sure he has a plan figured out. But whatever it is, I’m not sure he will survive that place."

Downpour Galaxy.
Edge of the Galaxy.
One of the Empire military outposts, spanning a planet, was here.
Gothic-looking structures that seemed impregnable were here.
Several operatives were manned across various stations, performing their duties.
In one of the conference rooms of this outpost, a meeting was happening.
Everyone in the meeting room was frustrated.
"Damn empire military. Refusing to send runesmiths. How the hell are we gonna complete the array?" one of the officers in the room bellowed.
"The higher ups have given up on us. Anytime they send more runesmiths, they die. They’d rather station them at different outposts, or probably send them to the frontlines," another, a female officer, sighed.
Everyone nodded.
"The Runesmith Association across the solar systems in this galaxy and the other galaxies too are refusing to send runesmiths here," another said.
"It’s not the Runesmith Association’s fault. Rather, the runesmiths are refusing the mission. The fatality rates for coming here is something they cannot handle. No one wants to die."
"That’s true. We can barely hold ourselves together during the overwhelming numbers of the vimodials when they attack. How can we have the time to focus on protecting them when vimodials launch an assault?"
"Well, news just got in that a couple of nomad rank 8 runesmiths have decided to help," one of them, the person in charge of intel, said after checking a notification they had just received.
"Nomads? Those fellows are not like the runesmiths of the empire, they are used to dangerous environs," the head of the outpost, a female vampire in red military uniform, said. "Makes sense they’d want to take the risk. How much are we supposed to pay them?"
"500 universe coins each, there are six of them, that means 3000 universe coins."
The room turned silent.
What the hell?
The financial account of the base would be squeezed dry.
But it was worth it. If the rank 8 runesmiths managed to complete the rank 8 runic array, several parts of the outpost will be safe. They would be safe.
"What about the regions in need of rank 7 runic arrays? How are we gonna manage that?" someone asked a question on everyone’s minds.
"About that, I just got another message. Someone from the Infa Solar System runesmith association branch in the Fistfar Galaxy is headed here," the intel in charge continued. "According to what we’ve gathered, he’s not to be underestimated. He has a rune skill proficiency of 94 percent. Also, rumors are that he has been completing high difficulty missions left uncompleted in the association for years like taking a walk in the park."
"That’s great news. But..." the base head sighed again. "Even if he’s someone exceptional and has an exceptional rune skill proficiency, he’s still just one person. An array usually requires the work of multiple runesmiths."
Everyone nodded as murmurs wafted in the room. 𝓯𝙧𝓮𝓮𝒘𝓮𝙗𝙣𝒐𝒗𝒆𝓵.𝓬𝓸𝒎
They didn’t dare underestimate someone with a rune skill proficiency of 94 percent.
He could not be compared to that former Arbiter, the Mad Tactician, who had a rune skill proficiency of 99.99 percent, as that fellow was one of those once-in-an-era geniuses. But still, Karag Anvilheart’s rune skill proficiency was something they had never heard of before.
However, this task was not one for a single runesmith.
He could not change the outcome.
"But still, we have to let him try. It’s not like we have anything to lose," the base head said. "Also, this time, we have to prioritize the safety of the runesmiths if the enemy attacks. The long-term survival of the base depends on the completion of their runic arrays."
Everyone in the room nodded.
"Sir, the rank 8 runesmiths and Karag Anvilheart have all arrived. They are in the guest lounge."
