"In my opinion, he was probably tied to military duties and he still is. Do you think the Colonels are here doing nothing?" the time Dilation Artifact finally spoke.

"They are eliminating, holding and pushing back extremely dangerous vimodial contractors at the Frontlines. Those vimodial contractors may not be at the level of the ones the rank 7 supreme stage galactic level powerhouses are holding back, but they are dangerous in their own right."

Kailen now widened his eyes in realization.

The time dilation artifact added, "You got the impression that the Colonels are just high authorities seated in some office just barking orders to subordinates because you always find Major Seth in his office. But Major Seth is definitely on a rotatory cycle. Very soon, another major will come and take his place here and he will also have to return to the battlefield."

Kailen nodded in understanding as she continued.

"Sergeant Diamond," the fellow said. "We don’t know the specifics of being summoned here, but we think there’s a promotion ceremony about to occur, and looking at things, it is most likely that someone is about to be ushered into the rank of a captain."

Diamond revealed a look of realization in his eyes and nodded.

"Interesting. A captain huh. I wonder who it is."

As he mused to himself, one of his unit members overheard a conversation and said to him, "Seems Kailen Darkhaven is back."

A glint of ruthlessness flashed through the eyes of Diamond.

"The bastard who wiped out my entire clan is back? He’s a mere private right? That means I can put an end to his life as an awakener"

"Errm, about that Diamond, that guy is not simple. He—"

His unit members sighed and left him to himself.

The crowd observed with curiosity.

"Disrespect for higher authority huh. Why don’t we wait for the ceremony to end? And we will discuss that, Sergeant, after all, the higher ups won’t be pleased if we create a scene at such an official gathering, don’t you think so?"

"A coward. You were just running your mouth and now, you are trying to run away?" Diamond clicked his tongue in disdain.

Kailen ignored him, still smiling.

Just then, Major Seth appeared on the podium.

Everyone saluted him, then assumed silence.

Even Diamond, who was about to make a move on Kailen openly to disgrace him, had to put it on hold.
