Hated By The Alpha-Chapter 209: No saying no
Leon was sitting on his bed, anger eating him up from the inside as he glared at the person sitting on his chair by the side of his bed.
After Mark had forcefully dragged him out of the hall, he managed to escape and retired to his room.
He thought he was done with Mark, and was almost retiring to bed when he heard Green calling him behind the door. However, when he went to answer the door, Green was nowhere to be seen; instead, Mark stood there with a mischievous smirk, staring at him.
He wanted to close the door on him but Mark easily slipped in, sitting himself on the chair by the side of the bed.
Which led him to his current situation, sitting on his bed and glaring at the person in front of him.
"You can go ahead and sleep, I’ll just watch you," Mark states casually like it was a normal thing to say.
Leon scoffed, "Listen, Mr. Mark; firstly, don’t use that tone on me, I’m just as manly as you are. Secondly, no, I’m not going to sleep with you sitting and watching me like a creep, that’s just crazy. Thirdly, I’m not your -"
"Don’t say that part," Mark cut in, holding his hand up and shaking his head, "That’s not allowed, Mate. Unless you want me to die, then you can go ahead and say it. The moon goddess will take my life, right now, right here. I’m sure you’d like that. Go ahead, give it a try." Mark said, shifting his chair closer to the bed and placing his hands on it as he stared into Leon’s eyes.
Leon paused, skeptically staring at Mark, "What do you mean? Are you saying I can’t tell you that I don’t want -"
"Don’t say it," Mark placed a hand on his chest and bent over in pain... mock pain.
Leon widened his eyes in surprise, he shifted closer and placed a hand on Mark’s shoulder, "Hey, hey, okay... I get it, I’m not saying it anymore... are you okay?" He asked, looking concerned and confused.
He was no werewolf or witch but he learned from Isabella that rejecting a mate could actually kill the person. But, he never knew that telling a mate simply that you don’t want them would have the same effect.
He watched Mark slowly lift his head to him, a smile appearing on his lips.
"Thank you, dear mate. Just..." Mark paused and held Leon’s hand, "never mention the negative things to me, unless you want to kill me. The only thing you should say to me is yes, yes, and yes. Okay?" He questioned calmly, circling his thumb over the back of Leon’s hand.
"Um..." Leon swallowed hard, finding it hard to believe that he was in this kind of situation, "Okay... I understand..." he murmured, feeling helpless.
Mark smiled, "Great, so..." he stood from the chair and sat on Leon’s bed, still holding onto his hand.
"Now that you understand that you’re never leaving my side, or asking me to leave yours, can I get a kiss now?" Mark asked, tilting Leon’s chin up to look at his face.
Leon frowned, "Are you crazy? Dude, listen, I get it, I’m your mate, but unfortunately, this moon goddess seemed to have paired you with the wrong gender. I mean, even if you were okay kissing men, she should have paired you up with someone who also likes to do that. Not me, I don’t." He stated, shifting away from Mark.
Mark sighed, "So, it’s a no?" He asked with narrowed eyes.
Leon opened and closed his mouth, this was really hard for him. ’Can I just say no and let him die at once? But he’s Audrey’s cousin... she’ll be sad if he dies and I’ll feel horrible and guilty.’ He secretly thought as he stared at Mark’s waiting eyes.
"Maybe we can talk about it in the morning? You know, I’m human and I’m not used to all this supernatural, fantasy stuff. I need to get slowly introduced to the system; so, let’s talk tomorrow," Leon gently patted Mark’s hand and futher moved away from him.
Mark sighed sadly, "Fine, I’ll give you a little time. But, you have to hurry and make up your mind..." he paused and leaned in to whisper beside Leon’s ear, "Rejection isn’t the only thing that kills a wolf... denial kills, too." He smirked and leaned back to his position.
Leon furrowed his brows, "Denial?" He asked, confused.
Mark patiently nodded, "Yes. Denying me yourself for a long period can also lead to my death... a very painful death, I might add." He sighed like he’d had enough.
Leon chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief, "Then I think you might actually die, nigga." He patted Mark’s shoulder and slid off the bed, heading toward the door, "Please, Mr. Mark, take your leave, I need to sleep, now." He said, opening the door and pointing him out of it.
Mark stood and walked to the door, pausing in front of Leon. He faced Leon, an easy smile playing on his lips, "I know you don’t mean that. You’ll give in to me sooner than you thought, I can feel it. Goodnight, my Prince." Mark touched Leon’s cheek and left the room, a happy look on his face.
Leon slammed his door the moment Mark walked out, he hurried over to his drawer and pulled his phone out, trying Audrey’s number multiple times but got no response.
"Ugh, I’m so dumb. Like is probably... fuck this," He muttered as he realised he might be disturbing the couple with his stupid call.
He frustratedly slumped on his single couch, burying his face in his hands.
"My Prince? Is something wrong with him?" He asked himself as he thought back to what Mark had called him before departing from his room.
"Fuck..." He whispered, tapping his feet anxiously on the floor.
He had told Audrey that he wanted a mate, too, and wasn’t selective about who the person was. But he was only referring to his mate being either a female wolf or a witch. Not some tall, handsome, flirty, wolf man, who thought he could say whatever he wanted to him. 𝐟𝕣𝕖𝐞𝐰𝕖𝚋𝐧𝗼𝚟𝐞𝕝.𝗰𝐨𝐦
He suddenly remembered something and smiled; Isabella had told him that Audrey was the strongest witch alive, surely, she must know a way or two to dissolve the matebond between him and Mark. Yes, that was what he would discuss with her tomorrow morning.
He never planned to end up with a man, all his life, he was sure he would have a normal family: get married to a beautiful woman, have kids, grow old together. And, when he met Audrey, he thought that his dream would come true, but it didn’t.
Coming down here to search for Audrey was his last attempt with her, but he realized that what she had with Lake was something he couldn’t comprehend. Now, he had gotten himself into a difficult situation.
What if he never came to find Audrey in her Pack? Would Mark remain single forever if he had never met him? Or, would the moon goddess pair him up with someone else?
"Woah..." He frowned and touched his chest, feeling it hurt a little from the brief imagination of Mark being parked to someone else who wasn’t him.
"Oh, no... this mate shit is crazy. Was this how it worked?" He muttered with a frown.
He was sure that he’ll he had no feelings for Mark, yet thinking about him with someone else had a horrible effect on him; he felt jealousy, anger, and betrayal, all at once.
He shook his head, thinking about your mate with someone else hurt this way, that means what Mark said was true, rejecting a mate, denying them your body, and verbally refusing to accept them would surely hurt as hell.
He didn’t want that, he didn’t want to feel something that strong for a fellow man; if Audrey had no solution for him in the morning, he would be left with no choice but to run away and escape from Mark.
"Yeah... I’ll just return to Paris and pretend I never met him in my life. I’ll forget all about werewolves and witches, after all, no one I’d go to believe me if I told them that the Twilight movie isn’t just a movie... Ugh, I’m already sounding crazy," he forced himself out of the sofa and dragged himself over to his bed, falling face-first on it.
His face buried in the pillow, he groaned before turning to his side and hugging hus se and pillow.
"Shh... be quiet my mind. We need to rest and sleep. You can do all the planning again by morning," He whispered to himself.
After a bit of tossing and turning, Leon found his perfect spot, and with a soft sigh, he closed his eyes and allowed sleepiness win over his consciousness.
