Harry Potter and the Secret Treasures-Chapter 1207: Battle with the God
The body of the god Horus grew larger and larger, soon towering like a fortress in front of Evan. His head was almost as high as the floating Ramses II in the sky, standing over two hundred feet tall. His voice echoed between heaven and earth, and every time his huge body moved, the entire space vibrated, making a loud rumbling sound.
There were also orbs of colorful light floating around him, and it was clear that this deity possessed extraordinary magic powers.
Defeating such a being and extracting his left eye…
Evan seriously doubted whether this challenge was too difficult for him. Even if everything was as Ramses II said, and the god Horus would suppress his power, he was still a god! Among all of Evan’s opponents, this guy was the strongest.
He didn’t want to fight if he could help it.
But he had no right to refuse. Ramses II made it very clear that he could either fight, win and take the reward, or die here, in the Egyptian desert more than two thousand years ago. Perhaps his bones would be discovered by archaeologists and adventurers in later generations.
Evan thought of what Nicolas Flamel had said about his experience of obtaining The Book of Abraham. Perhaps, this magic book was left by him in the desert, and finally it came into Flamel’s hands. Otherwise, how to explain that a group of Muggle merchants got such a magic book?
He looked up at Ramses II, the pharaoh who was only a few years older than himself.
Ramses II was conversing with Horus. The two spoke very quickly in a language that Evan could not understand.
It might be a rare ancient magic language, but he was not in the mood to study these ancient characters now.
These ancient spellcasters were always like this. What they called a simple test was more difficult than Evan could imagine.
Couldn’t they put themselves in Evan’s shoes and consider his strength and give him a challenge that matched his abilities?
Evan was just a student. What kind of test would be appropriate for a fourth or fifth-year Hogwarts student?
Stealing an egg from a dragon’s nest was the correct official standard, or maybe attempting to fight a Death Eater. If he could do that, it would already be excellent. Perhaps they could add some other twists, something a bit more intense—Evan wouldn’t refuse—but in no way should the challenge involve digging out an eye from a god.
He gripped his wand tightly, tried to clear his mind, and told himself that now was not the time to be distracted, and he should come up with a solution as soon as possible.
“Are you ready, Evan? Given the limited time, I think it’s best to start now. You…”
Evan could no longer hear what Ramses II said next.
He saw Horus’s huge body approaching him, and he moved instinctively.
Even though he hadn’t figured out a strategy yet, it no longer mattered.
He put aside all distracting thoughts, and the only thing left in his mind was “fight”.
It was not just about showing his own strength, he had to defeat everyone in front of him, defeat Horus … defeat this god.
He could do it; he would definitely be able to do it.
Boom!!!
Under Evan’s control, a giant made of countless sand grains rose from the desert, stirring up a rolling sandstorm.
The giant roared and rushed towards Horus.
More yellow sand gathered together and continuously flowed into its body, making it bigger and harder.
Horus said a few words, then without dodging or evading, he went straight towards the sand giant created by Evan.
The two huge monsters collided with each other, confronting each other with the most primitive force, making a terrifying sound.
The whole space was shaking and trembling with their collision.
Evan saw Horus’s muscles bulging, while his sand giant was in a much worse state, nearly collapsing.

If not for the continuous supply of sand, it would have disintegrated into sand grains after a single impact.
“Very impressive Transfiguration; this must be a type of creation spell. You seem to have simplified it, though, and naturally, the power is somewhat lacking. If Set were here, he might enjoy it; he often seeks out giants to fight,” said Ramses II, watching the battle below with great interest. “You need to push harder, Evan; this level of Transfiguration won’t be enough to contend with Horus.”
Evan could see it without being reminded.
Horus and the sand giant were fighting each other, and there was a brief stalemate, but anyone could see that his giant could not hold on for long.
Cracks were appearing and widening across its massive body, with large sections of sand collapsing.
Even though Evan tried very hard, the rate of collapse was outpacing the rate of replenishment.
This couldn’t go on any longer, so he quickly waved his wand and the sand giant disintegrated back into countless grains of sand.
Horus stumbled forward slightly, thrown off balance by the sudden disappearance of his opponent.
The sand rapidly reformed, transforming into a giant serpent that coiled tightly around its opponent from top to bottom.
Without pausing, Evan pointed his wand at the desert beneath Horus’s feet and quickly chanted a spell.
The yellow sand began to sink rapidly, turning into a quagmire that ensnared Horus, who was trapped by the giant python and sinking downwards.
Horus roared in fury, struggling violently as he tore the giant python apart.
A pair of black wings emerged from his back, flapping rapidly, allowing him to rise from the mire.
As the wings flapped, countless yellow sands were also roaring.
Like a violent storm, the sand rained down on Evan at incredible speed.
The sand grains, moving with blinding speed, shredded his clothes and skin, leaving tiny cuts all over his body.
Evan did not dodge or use magic defense.
He gasped, enduring the pain, ignoring the sand rain that was like sharp knives, and disregarding the collapsing desert around him.
He raised his wand towards Horus and waited for the right moment.
Evan knew that this was his only chance, and he had to end the battle as soon as possible while Horus was slacking off and not using his full strength.
If he continued like this, neither his physical strength nor his magical power would be enough to sustain him in fighting against this famous deity.
Horus was known as the god of kingship and the sky. The sky was his domain, while the desert was under the control of his mortal enemy, Set.
Otherwise, there would be no need to put in so much effort. With just a single thought, he could command the sands.
And then there were those terrifying, colorful orbs of light hovering beside him, formed from magical energy—they were far from mere decorations.
Not to mention, the god Horus had not yet picked up his weapon, the stunning Was Scepter, known for its immense power and revered by all.
No matter how you looked at it, Evan had no chance of victory. His only goal was to obtain Horus’s left eye.
He focused his mind, quickly gathering his magic energy.
When Horus broke free from his restraints and flew out of the quagmire, Evan’s magic was activated instantly.
A silver light, like lightning, shot out from the end of the wand, aiming straight for Horus’s eye.
“Did it work?” Evan’s eyes followed the path of his spell, his heart pounding with tension.
But just as the spell was about to strike Horus, a golden, transparent shield made of what seemed like sunlight appeared, blocking Evan’s spell.
Bang! The white light collided with the energy shield, causing ripples.
“Oh, you’ve made him angry,” said Ramses II gloatingly. “Evan, if I were you, I would start running now…”
