Chapter 677 – You Know Who to Call

"You just recruited an apocalypse-tier pet," Naomi muttered.

"Correct," Lux shot back, smug. "Anyway..."

And then, he gestured toward the mansion clock again.

"It’s almost ten."

All four women blinked.

Mira’s eyes widened.

Naomi paled.

Ely gasped.

Rava’s tentacles flared in panic.

"TEN?!" Naomi yelped. "I’m doomed!"

"I missed my meeting with the new buyers!" Rava groaned, dragging a tentacle down her face.

"My call with the Eastern Syndicate—!" Mira turned around and sprinted out of the kitchen.

Lux exhaled and sipped his coffee again.

The taste had cooled slightly, less sinful dark roast, more bitter consequence, but still better than watching his mansion spiral into professional meltdown.

Screaming from upstairs and a lot of chaos.

Lux ran a hand through his hair and sighed. "I guess I need to help them."

His eyes slid toward the black slime still jiggling on the counter. Zehar radiated smugness like a cursed microwave.

Lux arched a brow and muttered, "It’s my servant’s fault, after all."

Zehar hissed. Like a kettle. A demonic kettle of violence.

Lux smirked and lifted a finger into the air. "Summon... Velza. Vierra."

The air shimmered in front of him, gold lines fracturing reality like a luxury-brand glass door being kicked open, and two figures stepped through.

Velza appeared first, heels sharp enough to kill a boardroom, her long black coat slicing the air with every step.

[Name: Velza, The Infernal Stylist]

Right behind her came Vierra, spinning once before landing gracefully with a flourish that sent soft pink mist across the kitchen floor.

[Name: Vierra, The Painted Temptress]

"Good morning, Master Lux," Velza said coolly, surveying the scattered chaos.

"Morning," Vierra chimed, winking as she leaned into him just enough to smell his shirt. "Oh my... you’ve been working."

Lux didn’t flinch. "Ladies. Help my girls prep. Prioritize speed and function over glamor. And when they’re ready? Tell them to come to me. I’ll drop them off myself."

Velza tilted her head, smiling. "Understood."

"Delicious," Vierra purred. "I’ve always wanted to paint a mortal mid-panic."

Both vanished in a snap of manicured fingers and perfume-scented mana.

Lux turned toward the entrance. "Lyra."

"Yes, my lord!" the head maid snapped, already halfway down the hall.

"Assign all servants to assist. Prioritize dressing, feeding, and emotional stabilization."

"Understood!"

She vanished faster than the quarterly report deadline during tax season.

The chaos continued for ten more minutes.

Ten... beautiful... destructive minutes.

And then...

Silence.

Not total silence. But controlled chaos. The kind that sounded like beauty under construction. He heard heels clicking. Fabric swishing. Power crackling in the air like perfume-infused thunderclouds.

The girls emerged one by one.

Mira first, her hair now elegantly tied back into a black bun with jade pins, her hanfu-style blouse ironed perfectly, dark lipstick painted with ruthless accuracy.

Rava followed, her blazer perfectly tailored, pearls at her neck glowing faintly from the subtle glamor buff. Her tentacles curled behind her like poised whips. She didn’t smile, but her lashes could kill.

Naomi arrived with eyeliner so sharp Lux could file contracts with it. Her blouse was slightly open at the collar. On purpose. Her glare said don’t mention it but her smirk betrayed the pride.

Ely came last, her white skirt and golden accessories swirling like light magic personified. Her long hair had been braided with elven thread. She glowed.

Lux nodded, pleased. "Nice."

Mira raised a brow. "You mobilize all your servants just to prep us?"

"You were five seconds away from setting the house on fire."

Rava tilted her head. "And now?"

Lux grinned, spinning his fingers slowly.

Gold rippled in the air beside him. A portal opened, perfect, elliptical, trimmed in CFO-grade infernal magic.

He turned to them, his voice smooth as aged whiskey and just as dangerous.

"Step through when ready. I’ll drop you off one by one. No traffic. No delays. No excuses."

Naomi blinked. "You’re... going to portal us?"

"Personally," he said. "If there’s a problem... negotiation, sabotage, stress meltdown, HR meltdown... call me. I’ll handle it. Either with charm, money... or incineration. Depends on the request."

They stared.

He winked. "Your beloved boyfriend isn’t just good at fucking."

"Lux," Naomi hissed, scandalized.

"I’m also good at solving very annoying things. Especially financially." His grin sharpened. "So if you hit a wall? You know who to call."

The room held its breath.

Mira exhaled first and smirked. "You do like showing off."

"It’s what I’m best at."

Naomi rolled her eyes but smiled anyway. "Fine. I’ll call you if I need backup."

Rava gave a short nod. "Same. But only if necessary."

Ely, already halfway through the portal, looked back. "Thank you, Lux."

He saluted with his mug. "Try not to kill anyone unless I say yes."

And just like that, they stepped through, one by one. Elegant. Powerful. Heiresses.

Warriors in lipstick and legacy.

Lux sipped the last of his coffee, listening to the click of heels fade into the ripples of magic.

Zehar hissed again.

He glanced at the slime. "What?"

The slime pulsed.

Lux arched a brow. "You jealous?"

Zehar made a low, offended burble. It sounded somewhere between a congested growl and a cat stuck in a jar of peanut butter.

Lux let out a low chuckle, the sound curling from his throat like silk-wrapped amusement. It rumbled under his breath as he took another long, lazy sip of now-lukewarm coffee. "You used to be terrifying, didn’t you? Big. Void-born. Abyss-level threat. One of those ’burn the stars and eat the screaming gods’ types."

Zehar jiggled angrily.

Now?

Now he looked like a novelty plushie some sadistic high-end boutique might sell as ’squishable forbidden anxiety.’

"Honestly?" Lux leaned on the counter, grinning. "You look like something kids would keep in their backpacks."

The slime hissed again.

Corvus, who had been preening himself dramatically on the back of the sofa, flicked one obsidian feather and said, "So... what exactly are you gonna do with him? Boss."

Lux tilted his head toward the bird, his grin slowly sharpening into something more financial. "I don’t have anything in mind. Yet." He turned his eyes back to the slime, and the air around him shifted, just slightly colder, a little sharper. "But I do know one thing."

Zehar suddenly froze mid-pulse.
