Harem Legion: Queens of the Apocalypse-Chapter 24 What the Hell Is That?
"Bastards!!"
Sophia was beyond furious. Eyes bloodshot, she moved faster than ever through the wreckage of Unity Medical Supply, darting and leaping like a phantom.
A six-year-old girl, Daisy, had been trampled to death. Her eyes bulged, and blood streamed from every facial orifice. It was brutal. Absolutely savage.
Of the nine female soldiers led by Lynn, six had already been tortured and slaughtered by that blond-haired thug and his crew by the time Sophia arrived - including Lynn herself.
She had killed before - on missions at the border, hunting down drug traffickers and cold-blooded killers. But today, the rage inside her was something else entirely. Something wild.
The gang of seven had already been dealt with - their limbs and tendons cut so they couldn’t move, close to death - but Sophia wasn’t done. Her military dagger plunged into their bodies again and again, especially on that yellow-haired bastard who led them.
He passed out multiple times, only to be jolted awake by the relentless stabbing and searing pain.
"Captain, we found a woman in the restroom."
Two female officers had just escorted Daisy’s mother out, but she suddenly went insane, shoving both aside and lunging at the yellow-haired man - her mouth hungrily snapping down on his nose.
Once. Twice. Three times.
She bit it clean off.
Then came his ears... then his face - ripped apart chunk by chunk.
Everyone froze. Even Sophia.
Five or six women turned around, doubled over and vomited uncontrollably.
Sophia, regaining some composure, didn’t stop Daisy’s mother. Instead, she silently walked over to Lynn’s body. Still warm. Blood still oozing out of the bullet wounds.
She gently closed Lynn’s eyes, then straightened up and gave her a sharp, solemn salute.

"Grace, go check those cars - find fuel lines and empty cans! Listen clearly: don’t touch the webs. The spiders and centipedes? Ignore them. They’re slower than you. Just dodge and move fast, got it?"
"I... I got it!"
Grace took a deep breath, then sprang onto one vehicle’s roof, swiftly hopping to the next.
Magnus used that window to start prying open fuel caps, one by one. By the fourth one, Grace was back with the first fuel set. He wasted no time siphoning it out.
Four tanks down, three working cars found.
He poured one full can to lay out a fiery escape route, then ran back to the safe door by the stairwell.
"Move! Follow me through the fire! I’ll drive the lead SUV - don’t fall behind!"
The remaining ten women were shaking, some barely able to stand. But they knew - this was their only shot.
Magnus dashed through the flame line, pulling the group with him. He jumped into the first SUV. Two more behind it waited for the others.
But just as they neared, the second-to-last woman tripped, collapsing right into the fire. Another stumbled over her, drenched in spilled fuel, both instantly engulfed in flames.
Magnus cursed under his breath. All it took was crossing one fire line? Total liabilities.
Still, he leapt out of the car, yelling, "Tear their clothes off - NOW!"
What made Magnus even angrier at that moment was the eight women sprinting ahead - despite clearly hearing his shout, not a single one turned back to help. They just shoved each other, scrambling to get into his vehicle like it was their only lifeboat.
In a life-or-death moment, they still acted that damn selfish. Furious, Magnus landed a swift kick to the backsides of two of them. "Get your asses to the rear vehicles! No one’s getting on my damn car!"
With no choice, he ran over himself to the two screaming women who were still on fire, gritted his teeth against the heat, and started ripping their burning clothes off.
Luckily, the burns weren’t too bad. He managed to drag them to his car, jumped into the driver’s seat, and slammed the gas. In his gut, a cold thought crept in: ’Best if the other two cars get left behind. Let those bastards fend for themselves.’
"You saw it yourself - these selfish bastards! These are the people you insisted I save?" With nowhere else to vent, he turned and barked at Grace sitting beside him in the passenger seat.
"They... they’re not usually like this, they’re good people..." Grace lowered her head, her voice small.
Magnus held back. After nine months fighting side by side, he knew Grace well. If the roles were reversed, she wouldn’t leave him behind either.
Letting out a deep breath, Magnus twisted the wheel hard, forcing the car out of the underground lot and onto the sidewalk.
Two blocks later, the rear windows of his car were already smashed from a centipede attack. The two lightly-burned women in the back were howling, clinging to the backseat in terror. One even reached out and grabbed Magnus’s arm while he was driving. He snapped at her quickly.
More bugs were starting to get in. Worried the women couldn’t hold on much longer, Magnus pushed the speed even harder.
They were less than 50 meters from their team - but just as Magnus was about to catch up, sudden explosions roared out from across the road.
What the hell now?
Through the windshield, he saw it - two towering fire serpents stretching dozens of meters long, lashing at a dark swarm of giant mosquitoes. Several cars were thrown meters into the air before slamming down in pieces.
Magnus had never seen anything like it in his previous life. No time to think - he jumped out, laying down a fire path, connecting it all the way to the big bus. As soon as the door opened, Megan spotted him and rushed to report.
"Commander! That’s the latest Type-02C flamethrower - only the military has it!"
"Got it. Save the talk for when we’re onboard!"
Magnus covered the women and Grace as they boarded the sleeper bus, then got on last himself. As soon as he stepped inside, Megan and Amber Shelton jolted in surprise when they saw Grace.
"Captain?!"
"She’s the sister of your captain - name’s Grace," Magnus explained quickly. "But never mind that for now. Talk to me about that flamethrower."
"Oh - right!" Megan snapped out of it and hurried to add, "It’s the newest model. Max range is 40 to 100 meters. The system’s got three parts: fuel tank, gun - "
"I’m not asking about that!" Magnus grabbed both her shoulders, voice sharp. "Just tell me - only the Emberleaf Legion, the Seventh Vanguard outside the city, has this gear, right? Do the Cityward Legion or the riot squads even use this stuff?"
Startled by his intensity, Megan blinked and answered softly, "N-no... only the regular army has access to flamethrowers..."
