Harem app-Chapter 130: Near death experience
Chapter 130: Near death experience
Third person POV
Liam turned to Helena, ready to wrap her in his arms and assure her that everything was okay. However, at that very moment, a thunderous crash shook the ground beneath him.
He spun toward the sound and saw something that made him doubt his own eyes. Somehow, Jeff had stood back up, throwing the luxury car aside as if it weighed nothing.
His body was covered in bruises and scratches, but nothing severe enough to suggest he had just been hit by a ton of steel at high speed.
And to make things worse, he was smiling. A wide, animalistic, and unsettling grin, like a predator locking onto its prey.
"Well, well, looks like we’ve got ourselves a hero," he murmured, licking his lips with a sickening expression. His eyes gleamed with pure malice, and each step he took carried the promise of imminent violence.
"It’s gonna be a pleasure crushing you."
How the hell is he still standing? Liam thought, momentarily stunned by the absurdity of what he had just witnessed.
A faint shiver of fear ran through his body, it was inevitable. But he quickly shoved that pathetic emotion aside.
He refused to be intimidated by this stupid man, especially when he had someone to protect.
His blood boiled once again, sharpening his senses.
He had no way of knowing, but at that moment, his eyes gleamed with a faint crimson glow.
"Come at me," Liam grinned confidently, meeting his opponent’s gaze with the ferocity of a predator.
Seeing this, Jeff couldn’t contain his own grin.
He didn’t even need to start fighting to know that the prey standing before him was worth the hunt.
And, because of his distorted personality, he would love nothing more than to break the powerful, courageous spirit of the man before him.
With that thought, he lunged forward like a beast, his mouth practically watering at the thought of utterly crushing his opponent.
Liam barely had time to react before a massive fist came flying toward his face. The wall behind him cracked violently as the brute’s punch buried itself in the concrete like it was nothing.
It was just another display of the inhuman strength that monster possessed.
"You’re kinda quick," Jeff remarked, almost amused, as he yanked his hand free from the wall.
"Shit..." Liam muttered, backing up a few steps to reassess the situation.
Jeff wasn’t just strong, he was fast, absurdly durable, a literal tank. If that punch had landed, Liam would probably already be dead.
But he couldn’t retreat now. Not with Helena and Lilith right behind him.
A dangerous smirk crossed Liam’s face. Taking a deep breath, he steadied his stance and charged forward.
With surprising speed, he dodged Jeff’s first strike, then pivoted perfectly, driving a brutal kick into the side of Jeff’s knee to destabilize him.
The impact forced the giant to take a step back, but it wasn’t nearly enough to actually hurt him.
Jeff laughed in a creepy way. "You are fast... but not fast enough."
Before Liam could react, the man grabbed his arm and hurled him full-force into the wall, slamming his body into the concrete.
For a second, Liam thought he’d black out, but somehow, he clung to consciousness. Still, after just that one hit, his entire body screamed in pain, and breathing felt like a struggle.
He dropped to one knee, but through sheer willpower, he forced himself back to his feet.
He knew he couldn’t fall.
Seeing this, Jeff smiled, impressed, and gave his opponent time to recover a little. He was loving the fight and would consider it a waste to end it so soon. It was extremely rare for that man to find anyone who could actually fight with him.
"You’re pretty resilient. Let’s see how much you can take," he said with a confident smile, then charged at his opponent again.
This time, Liam didn’t have time to dodge and could only block with his arms.
The punch hit him full force like a cannonball. Liam felt indescribable pain surge through his entire body. It was a miracle his arm didn’t break from the impact.
But he didn’t even have time to process the pain, as a relentless series of punches followed. Jeff continued attacking him, pushing the boy against the wall, completely unable to defend himself.
And that was the end.
No one could survive this; it was simply impossible.
That’s why the brute stopped punching, wanting to observe the pitiful state of his victim.
But Liam was still standing. Not only that, despite the injuries all over his body, he had a terrifying smile.
Then his eyes glowed with a faint crimson light as he stared at his prey in a chilling manner.
In the next instant, Jeff felt a powerful kick to his stomach, sending the man flying across the warehouse and slamming into the wall, seeming to be unconscious.
At that moment, Liam could feel the presence of others in the room. They were more members of Jeff’s gang, who had naturally come closer to witness the fight. They had even intended to help, but after what they saw, they all seemed terrified.
Still, one of them was crazy enough to approach Helena, attempting to use her as a hostage. However, he failed miserably, being knocked out by the girl herself.
Then, Liam quickly went about beating them one by one, a simple task since one hit was enough to take those men down. They were no challenge to him.
But before he could smile at his victory, once again he heard a loud crash, as the brute rose up once more.
However, this time, something seemed different about him. His muscles looked even more swollen, almost as if they were about to explode at any moment. His veins were pulsating, and his skin had taken on a reddish hue.
Finally, his eyes gleamed with a macabre glow.
"Haha! You really are a formidable opponent, it’s been so long since I’ve had the chance to crush someone this entertaining!" Jeff roared, charging forward with killing intent.
"How is he still standing?!" Liam wondered as he forced himself back into a fighting stance. But exhaustion weighed heavily on his body, and he knew he couldn’t keep this up much longer.
Before he could even begin to form a strategy, Jeff was already in motion, he was like a crimson blur slicing through the air, moving faster than ever before.
The monster closed the distance in an instant, and Liam barely had time to raise his arms before the strike landed.
This punch was different. It felt like being hit by a freight train.
Liam was sent flying, helpless to react. He crashed through a stack of crates before slamming into the wall. A choked gasp escaped him as the impact rattled his spine, the air violently forced from his lungs.
But he had no time to recover.
His enemy’s fist was already hurtling toward his face.
Liam rolled aside at the last second, barely dodging. The spot where he’d just been was obliterated by Jeff’s strike, the concrete floor shattering like glass.
"Hey! Stop running away, you coward!" Jeff taunted, frustration creeping into his voice as his attacks kept missing.
Yet despite his irritation, he couldn’t suppress a grin. It had been decades since he’d had this much fun.
Once again, the brute lunged recklessly at his opponent, but this time, Liam was ready.
At the last possible second, he ducked , narrowly avoiding the blow. With a sharp pivot, he drove a devastating kick straight into Jeff’s knee.
CRACK!
The sickening sound of bone breaking echoed through the warehouse, followed by Jeff’s furious roar.
Liam didn’t waste a second.
He pressed forward, unleashing a rapid barrage of punches to Jeff’s face. But to Liam’s horror, the monster just smiled.
The pain didn’t seem to faze him at all. Somehow, he shifted his weight onto the knee that should’ve been shattered, and then, his hand snapped shut around Liam’s arm.
The world spun.
Liam was thrown like a football, his body crashing into an abandoned car inside the warehouse. The hood crumpled on impact, and the windshield shattered into pieces.
"Son of a bitch..." Liam grunted, spitting blood.
Soon after, Jeff hit the ground, feeling intense pain surge through his body. He didn’t have any angelic healing powers or anything like that, so the injury he sustained couldn’t just be ignored.
Even so, he managed to pop the bones back into place, then ripped his own shirt to fashion a makeshift bandage, allowing him to walk, more or less normally, though each step sent waves of excruciating pain through him.
Still, he smiled, confident of his victory, knowing his opponent was in far worse shape.
The glow in Liam’s eyes slowly faded as he coughed up more blood. His vision began to blur, and the strength in his body slowly ebbed away.
With every passing moment, he seemed closer to passing out.
