Half-Hearted: Mr. Sinclair, Stop the Act!-Chapter 86: She’s Waiting for the Show
Sienna Monroe stared at the line of text, her furrowed brow slowly relaxing.
Isn’t this just fortuitous?
She had just laid the groundwork with June Ewing on her end, and by tomorrow, Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash’s affair would be exposed.
This matter, if Cecilia York knew, it was equivalent to June Ewing knowing.
Great, her original plan was to use the two of them to reveal this matter, and then utilize June Ewing’s methods to take down Vivian Nash, ruining her reputation.
As for herself, just being in an innocent position was sufficient.
The next day.
Cecilia York followed Vivian Nash to a western restaurant, and when she saw Caleb Sinclair and Vivian Nash chatting and laughing, her brain short-circuited.
She stood still in the distance as if she had been mesmerized, staring blankly at Caleb Sinclair putting his arm around Vivian Nash’s waist.
Her cousin and Vivian Nash...
The two of them...
Actually...
Even though she hadn’t interacted much with Sienna Monroe, she could see from their interactions that her cousin and cousin-in-law had a good relationship.
But why would he cheat?
The person he cheated with was even her cousin-in-law’s best friend.
Usually, Vivian Nash was especially friendly to Sienna Monroe, so how could this be...?
After a long time, her thoughts slowly came together, and as she looked up, she saw Vivian Nash feeding something to Caleb Sinclair.
Her breath caught subconsciously, feeling that she must let her aunt know about this. She bit her lip, suppressing her panicked thoughts, quickly picked up her phone, zoomed in on the scene, and took a picture.
She didn’t stay there, didn’t even bother that she hadn’t eaten lunch, took leave from her team leader on WeChat, and hailed a cab to Radiance Beauty Spa.
As soon as she stepped into the beauty spa, Clara Shaw saw her and came over with a smile, "Miss York, why are you here at this time?"
"Where’s my aunt?"
"The director invited Mrs. Dawson, Mrs. Hood, and Mrs. Quincy for lunch at The Jade Pavilion today, they’ve only been gone half an hour. Is there something urgent? Should I call the director..."
Cecilia York, hearing this, opened her mouth — this matter couldn’t be known by outsiders.
She shook her head, "No need, it’s not particularly urgent, I’ll just wait in my aunt’s office for her to come back."
Clara Shaw apologized, "The password to the director’s office door is only known to her, how about you wait in our guest lounge?"
Cecilia York nodded.
The guest lounge was next to June Ewing’s office, the room wasn’t big, but it was decorated luxuriously and elegantly.
Clara Shaw also brought her some snacks and fruits.
After waiting for about an hour or so, she finally heard footsteps outside, looked up, and saw June Ewing standing at the door, smiling and asking her, "Cecilia? Clara said you came over at twelve, did you have lunch?"
Cecilia York quickly put down the teacup in her hand and walked over, "Auntie, I have something very important to tell you."
June Ewing stared at her for a few seconds and brought her into the office.
Before she could ask what was so important, Cecilia York had already handed her phone to her, showing a photo.
Although the photo was taken zoomed in, it was still clear enough; she recognized Caleb Sinclair’s profile at a glance.
But the pure and pretty woman across from him, she didn’t know.
Both of them had smiles on their faces, and even with a table between them, the intimate atmosphere of the scene was evident from the photo, not to mention what this photo implied.
Recalling how Sienna Monroe said yesterday that Caleb was acting strange, she had confidently asserted that she knew her son well.
And what was the result?
Did she really know him?
She also thought Caleb had deep feelings for Sienna Monroe and would never cheat.
Now, it felt like she had been slapped hard across the face, and it stung painfully.
June Ewing gritted her teeth, her expression tinged with anger, "Where did you take this photo? Do you know this woman?"
"At a western restaurant. This woman is cousin-in-law’s best friend, currently working at an art gallery, named Vivian Nash."
Cecilia York said, recounting the warning Sienna Monroe had given her some time ago to June Ewing, and also mentioning the waffles from that morning.
"It was because of this that I thought she was a bit suspicious, how could it be such a coincidence that cousin-in-law said the waffles were made by cousin yet were the same as those brought by Vivian Nash. This morning I saw her take a call in a coquettish tone, when she went out for lunch I followed, and didn’t expect..."
June Ewing frowned, hearing a hint of something, "Sienna Monroe warned you?"
Cecilia York nodded, hesitantly asking, "Auntie, do you think... cousin-in-law might have known beforehand?"
June Ewing didn’t answer immediately, her expression inscrutable.
Sienna Monroe had actually warned Cecilia York to stay away from Vivian Nash.
Could Sienna Monroe have seen something but wasn’t sure, wanting to use their hands to investigate?
Then why not investigate herself?
Are you afraid to face the truth, or are you reluctant to let go of your feelings for Caleb, yet want to use her to get rid of Vivian?
If that’s the case...
Sienna Monroe is not as gentle and innocent as she appears.
After considering these possibilities, her gaze, seething with anger, fell once more on the woman in the photo, and she sneered, "Even a rabbit doesn’t eat grass by its own burrow, yet she has such nerve."
"Aunt..." Cecilia York moved her lips.
"You did well with this matter," June Ewing said, "but don’t announce it yet. Wait until I thoroughly investigate the details of the matter before saying anything. Be careful, especially not to let your sister-in-law find out. When you’re back at the art gallery, just act naturally with Vivian Nash, don’t deliberately distance yourself from her."
She felt a deep disappointment with Caleb Sinclair’s unfaithful behavior.
The Hughes Family behind Sienna Monroe could be either an asset or a burden to Caleb Sinclair.
Moreover, the Monroe Family is a family of scholars with deep roots, and now they even have a diplomat amongst them.
They definitely cannot afford to offend or have a falling out with them.
Besides, the Sterling Family already has three big figures watching them at all times.
One wrong step and they could fall into an abyss.
Therefore, Caleb and Sienna must not divorce!
Vivian Nash!
She savored this name in her mind, and a hint of viciousness flashed across her eyes.
*
Sienna guessed that when Nora Joyce mentioned Cecilia York taking the afternoon off, she had most likely gone to Radiance Beauty Spa to inform June Ewing.
All afternoon, Vivian Nash was in particularly high spirits, even humming while walking.
When they crossed paths, Vivian Nash greeted her with an especially cheerful and smug tone. Sienna just smiled softly and said nothing.
Saying anything would be unnecessary; just waiting to see the show would suffice.
Around four-thirty in the afternoon, Sebastian Prescott suddenly sent a message: The fruit tea test report is out, and it’s with me.
Sienna was taken aback and immediately asked: Are you at the law firm? Shall I come over to find you?
Sebastian: At home. Let’s have dinner together tonight at the Celestial Banquet, my treat, as thanks for the incident a few days ago.
Sienna didn’t refuse: What time?
Sebastian: Whenever suits you.
Sienna: Six thirty?
Sebastian: Okay.
Sienna left the art gallery at six and didn’t get a driver to send her, instead borrowing Nora’s car.
It was right during the evening rush hour, and she got stuck in traffic for about ten minutes. By the time she reached the restaurant, it was already later than the originally agreed time.
When the waiter led her to the private room on the second floor, Sebastian was already leisurely enjoying his tea.
Today, he wasn’t in a suit but wore a black sweater and a pair of casual slacks, giving him a laid-back, homely vibe instead of a businesslike one.
She walked in and apologized, "Sorry for being late, I got stuck in traffic."
Sebastian nodded lightly at her, took the menu from the waiter, and handed it to her, "Order first."
Sienna nodded. She wasn’t polite about it and picked two hot dishes and one dry pot before returning the menu to Sebastian.
Sebastian closed the menu and returned it to the waiter, smoothly naming two dishes.
Once the waiter left, Sienna sipped her tea and asked as a sort of icebreaker, "Do you come to this restaurant often?"
"Not often, been here a couple of times," Sebastian said as he pushed a leather file folder to her, "The results came out this morning. Joy Prescott sent me a message that the courier arrived after four in the afternoon."
Sienna was somewhat surprised as she untied the string on the folder and asked, "Wasn’t it supposed to take half a month? How is it so quick?"
On the count, it seemed today was only the seventh or eighth day.
"It was expedited; the results came out in two days, and the remaining time was for review."
Sienna pulled out the papers inside. They included tests for sweetener content, total sugar, pesticide residues, and total phenolic which reflect antioxidant properties and work in conjunction with vitamin C.
Following that were routine checks for chemical additives and the like.
After reading through two pages, she didn’t really understand.
Sebastian noticed the crease in her brow and slightly arched an eyebrow, "The fruit tea contains a chemical pH value. Its carrier content is not high, but the radioactive purity is very high.
What Vivian put in it should be a radioactive type of drug. This drug is usually used in clinical medicine for cancer, heart, liver, and kidney diseases, as well as skin diseases and... placenta location."
Placenta location.
It’s generally used when the uterine position cannot be determined in the late stages of pregnancy.
But if used early on pregnant women, it can cause fetal malformations.
Sienna pressed her lips together, the grip on the paper slightly whitening, and said with a frown, "I’ve been looking into who Vivian has interacted with these days, and there weren’t any suspicious persons. So, this thing she..."
Sebastian interjected, "The dark web."
